Stay away from apartments that use this app

Literally breaks and then you are locked out of your apartment. Horrible app

Love Latch Hate Door

I miss this app. It performs significantly better than Door and is less prone to bugs. I’ve decided to continue using Latch as long as possible until they resolve all the issues with Door.

hate it

property mgmt forced us to use this

Not as bad as I assumed originally

My first experience with this app was total frustration. With the amount of UI thrown at you, you kinda assume it’s complicated. It’s really not. Once you realize most of the UI is superfluous … it just works.

Trash

This app is trash

Broken widgets

Widgets appear as a white rectangle when icon style is set to clear or tinted. Completely broken since the iOS 26 update.

Tech bros ruin everything

This is so much worse than useless. This isn’t just aggravating, it’s dangerous. The central premise is obviously nonsense, but tech bros gonna tech bro, so here we are. Use your phone to open doors! Great, easy, convenient…until your phone battery is dead and your charger is in your room, or until the signal isn’t great and you’re locked in an elevator, or until a satellite goes down and you can’t get into your house. I had to use the app to leave the workout room of my building - sure am glad there wasn’t any kind of emergency. Not like this was very obviously dangerous beyond belief or anything.

Next time I’m moving, any apartment building I see is using this trash is immediately removed from consideration, in my book.

In a world with any justice, the creators of this thing would be fired and fined into oblivion.

Terrible

Horrible app. randomly logs me out and resets the widget. locked me out of my place multiple times already. It barely could perform the function of LETTING THE OWNER IN

Pi

This app is peak and it helps you get into your house ez win w rizz chat

Terrible

I hope this dumb technology either goes away or greatly improves. It’s trash right now.

Terrible!! Sloooow!!!

This awful app was forced on me by my apartment complex. It’s sooo slow and takes FOREVER to unlock a door. In an emergency situation I’d be dead before this trash app opens a lock. Horrible!!

This is so stupid

A terrible app for a problem that does not exist

Go back

Go back to the name LATCH

Downgrade in experience

Unlocking doors now actually takes significantly longer than it used to with keys and key fobs. The lag is significant and I’m pretty sure that this is an ultimate architectural flaw that can’t be fixed without significant efforts. Therefore I don’t really anticipate that the experience will improve in the future.

Slow App

Unlocks doors very slowly and makes one look like a creep. Apartment forced this on us and I wish we’d go back to using a regular physical key.

Bad UX, Terrible security

They don’t have 2 factor authentication. The Bluetooth is shotty at best, often have to close the app and re open it to get it to connect.

Just give us normal key

This is all pointless “tech”! Nobody asked for it, and nobody likes it.

Unlock the door when person is 6 feet away

Unlock the door when person is 6 feet away

This is an awful way to access spaces

Even though the owner attempted to share the information with us, I emphasize attempted. The instructions were very confusing between using this app or DOOR. There’s no apparent create account button when you launch the app. We spent more time trying to figure this out than we spent getting to the city. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Works fine, but poor organization makes app cumbersome

Overall, the app and locks work well as intended. My biggest issue is the organization. My building has a large number of common area doors and they are in one giant list for the building. There is no way to organize doors into my own lists and not even a way to pin the most commonly used doors to the main screen inside the app. The most you can do is reorder the one giant list for the building. The lack of basic organizational functions is a glaring oversight and makes an otherwise good app cumbersome to use.
