Repetitive, Redundant Programming
I subscribed to SHRED because I wanted structured, balanced programming without having to design and correct every workout myself. Unfortunately, the app regularly stacks minor variations of essentially the same exercise within one session.
My latest leg workout prescribed four rounds of barbell sumo squats, followed by three rounds of sumo deadlifts, and then three rounds of dumbbell sumo squats. The previous workout included dumbbell curls, rope cable curls, and combination curls—all in the same session.
I understand that the same muscle can benefit from complementary exercises, but these movements overlap so heavily that the programming feels padded rather than purposeful. The combination curl even repeats much of what the other two curl variations already accomplish.
The interface and demonstrations are polished, but I should not have to audit and replace multiple exercises when personalized programming is the feature I’m paying for. Until the workout construction becomes more thoughtful, balanced, and consistent, I cannot recommend the paid subscription.

I doesn’t show what muscle is working
Something as simple as showing the targeting muscle is not shown on the app if you need to target different muscles you wont be able to see what you are working on
Rankings and Goals
Solid app, would like to be able to see the top 3 rankings. It cuts off and it would be nice to have a person to chase
Features suddenly removed
I have had this app for years and have been using it diligently. All of a sudden today when I turned it on to do a workout suddenly many the features that used to be there or now behind a premium wall. That’s really irritating and annoying and I will not be renewing my subscription.
Quality seems to have gone down
I used to recommend this app wholeheartedly to friends, but now I’m on the verge of deleting it and canceling my subscription. The Ai “coach” is pretty useless and a lor of the time the video tutorials don’t match up with the selected workout (example: video shows a guys with dumbbells doing squats, typed instructions reference kettle bells.) I’m worried that all the maintenance of this app has been outsourced to Ai. Sad to see.
