The descaling instructions for the Opal Mini are the absolute worst.
No need
No need to get app. If it is GE, it’s junk, and will not work for long. Not even worth one star.
Updates Keep Deleting Shortcuts and Flaky Connectivity
The apps functionality and usefulness are pretty good…but device connectivity has always been flaky (often have to open, then close, then open again to get connections…and updates keep coming along that delete all my shortcuts…work to be done here

I don’t need advertising and shopping on my appliance smart apps. I use the same brands for my needs and don’t want to change them. There’s no need for yet another shopping app. There’s already ads as it is!! I just want to control my appliances.
Please add better functionality so the machines can be turned on remotely instead of having to have power on for hours and counting down. An “on” option would be appreciated much more than more shopping.

Shortcut Disappeared
Oven Shortcut suddenly disappeared, also shortcut is not sharable among households. Changing from Fahrenheit to Celsius, App doesn’t allow 180 degrees, it should put 182, who has done it doesn’t have any idea how celsius works.
Good concept, poor execution
My AC inexplicably and continuously goes offline even though the AC is used regularly. It’s frustrating that in order to get it back online, I need to remove and re-add it back to the app. I’ve also tried setting up the other features in the app (such as location sharing), and no response from the app. This is a huge disappointment because I bought this unit BECAUSE I could operate it from my phone.

Network issue
Network issue in your app.
It’s saying it can’t connect to my stove or washer on the same internet it’s been on since we bought them. We had a power flicker, and it disconnected my internet temporarily. Now I can’t reconnect after the internet is up and running. It’s acting like I don’t know my own WiFi password! On both appliances. I got almost all the way my set up, the app froze, then said it couldn’t find my appliance and the app fore closed.

Worthless
Tells you the Opal machine needs descaling. You complete the descaling operation per owners manual and it still states it needs descaling!!!!
Camera
I’m unable to access the camera to scan the QR code, and since the detergent I use is not included in the available list, I’m unable to change or add my detergent. Finally, the app is not available in French.
Really annoying
Frustrating to set up, limited controls, flaky functionality, only one person can access a device (husband and wife cannot each control the same one from their individual apps).
Just another app
My washer consistently disconnects from this app. I have to link severals a week.
Overview lacks relevant info
Every time this app updates I hope they’ve changed the overview screen to include actually relevant information, like how much time is left on the washer and not what cycle it is on, but every time I am disappointed. It’s almost like they didn’t ask users what information would be useful for them to see.

It’s a good air conditioner. Only problem is in the app. Once you use it for more than a week you can never get the filter dirty to turn off no matter how you clean it

Limited functionality
Hello, I don’t understand why you can’t let me set the options for the ge washer dryers. Let’s say I set a load for washing overnight before bed, and I’m still in bed there should be an option for me to turn on the ultravent without me getting up and walking all the way over to the machine because at that point I might as well turn it on myself or move the clothes to the dryer. A BIG one is for the washer auto smart dispenser feature that can be configured on the phone, we can select detergent and it will bring up the camera to scan bar code but it won’t work because it needs camera permissions and when I go to the settings app, there’s nothing there where I can give permission to use the camera and it just prompts up every single time. For an IOS app in 2026 I’m actually shocked in how poorly designed and how limited the functionality of this app is. Only real modern functionality that is valid is the notifications when load is done. What if I want to tumble the clothes in dryer on my way home so then when I get home I can just get right to folding or ironing my refreshed load. What if I run a washer load before work? I would like to turn on the ultra fresh vent so it doesn’t sit the whole day in the washer and plus sometimes I genuinely forget I have clothes still left in the washer so please add the ultravent fresh functionality to the ge dryers please. Yes I made sure app is up to date. Yes I’m on the latest iOS. Idk what you guys are paying the development team for, this is incredibly shoddy work for an iOS application and I am surprised it even got published when it is fundamentally broken on a big feature like camera access.
