Couldn't use the free car wash

I signed up, opened the car wash code and then closed it. I wanted to confirm everything was working before I went to the site, but I lost my free car wash just because I closed it. What kind of app is this, one that does not require that the car wash center enter into their system before marking the car wash as redeemed? And I called the support center and they were unhelpful too. Waste of a time, lost 30 minutes of my precious time because of this.
