  • My favourite CBT app I’ve found in 10+ years.

I really value this clarity app for its ease of use.
Discovering it as a long time user of CBT (15 years), has been great to increase the frequency that I act on the knowledge that I need to do a 5 to 15 minute thought diary, in a moment of anxiety or despondency or rebellion (LOL).
The expanded examples/explanations of each distortion really help me to refocus on the truth of a situation, and I click and re-read the relevant ones almost every time I do the clarity thought diary. It helps me reframe. The trick I’ve found for maximum benefit, is to always take the thought diary right through to the very end of the process, and I seem to have an ‘ahah’ moment and a change of attitude to whatever I’m emotionally battling at the time.
It helps me to reframe my attitude to work challenges, relationship challenges, self-esteem/imposter syndrome challenges. It’s like a plank the helps leverage my wheels out of the mud. It’s one tool in my kit, alongside health and wellbeing choices (exercise, nutrition, sleep, prayerful meditation), to manage the neurodiversity of my mind.

  • Emotional balance

I’ve struggled with my mental health for different reasons most recently due to employment/covid etc.. life’s challenges.. This app helps you to use different techniques based on CBT. Thought challenging exercises, emotional recording, gratitude lists etc the list goes on. The greatest part is that is very easy to use. When I’m struggling with my emotions this is a good app to take a glance at what I’ve written and reflect seeing actually my negative times are becoming more few and far between. Excellent app I’ve been using it for well over a year now.

  • Very helpful

I am very appreciative of this app. The daily gratitude makes me see the positives. The teachings cut through to the most important parts of each topic. And CBT/DBT AI help is actually quite amazing. My only gripe would be that when I create a new emotion, I can’t edit it by either deleting it because I’ve doubled up or because I put it in the wrong section (a positive emotion accidentally put in the negative emotion space. Even when I click to edit and make the proper adjustment it stays the same. If there were half star ratings, I’d give this app at 4.5/5 easy. I shall be renewing my subscription for sure.

  • Good option for self-help

Clarity is a cbt self-help journaling app that comes jam packed with tools like daily reflections, daily affirmations, thought analysis journaling, meditations, courses, a chatbot, guided journaling and even assessments to check on your potential struggles with loneliness, depression, addiction, and even adhd.

Clarity is the most thorough cbt app that I have found on the market. In this free version you can access guided journals for thought analysis and daily reflection as well as a few other tools like affirmation of the day and some of the additional content like mediations and tips. The free version is sufficient enough to get a good idea of how the app works, if I enjoy using it, if it’ll work for me, and it allows me to see if it has the content and tools that I need.

What really interests me is the integration of AI and that there are a number of chatbofs within the app for DBT, CBT, troubleshooting sleep, or solving a problem. What greaf integration or AI! Although I wasn’t able to test it on free mode, I can imagine that they would be very helpful and are definitely a pull for me to purchase the app when I have the extra cash laying around.

What I also like about this app is that it is for the most part accessible for people with lower vision. The app is compatible with dark mode and also allows for larger font sizes. As well as, the layout is clean and easy to see and navigate. So please don’t change these aspects of the app. It van be very difficult to find accessible apps and I hate when developers end up making changes that go backwards. One problem area accessibility wise is that this app is not voiceover friendly. Although from the looks of it, it looks like it could be, unfortunately things don’t read out correctly enough to be able to navigate due to all the images that are present. Ir would be beneficial if this app was made to be voiceover friendly as many times, we as blind people are left out of being able to access these resources so we can heal. Just something to consider. Technology can be wonderful when it works for everyone, but it can also be part of the oppression we experience due to our inability or difficult ability to access it, and therefore access different aspects of life and the world.

Otherwise, one of my preferred choices for a journaling app because it’s so much more than just that.

  • Useful

I’ve been looking for an app to help with my CBT. The prompts are helpful and the ability to dive deep on certain aspects of therapy is very useful.
  • Good for anxiety

Doesn’t help too much but jornal ing helped my nauseous and fear to get food poisoned go away and still if you fell empty or anything tell someone but one thing I wish more assessments are free bc the app is supposed to help your problems so more things should be free
  • Hhsbdv

    It is so good
  • AI chatbot crashes after a few minutes

After 5 min the the chatbot stops responding — sometimes it takes an extra message on your end to get it back and other times all you see is the typing animation with no response.
  • Immediate positive effect

I started using this app yesterday after acknowledging that I need to do something about my mental health. I am used to the emotional ups and downs of my life but I do not enjoy the downs. After working hard on my diet (a plug for the Zoe personalised nutrition here) and starting a daily yoga practice (down dog) I was really quite desperate after hitting another low. I started using Clarity yesterday and noticed an immediate improvement. The short term benefits are worth using the app on their own. Easy to start using and there seems to be lots of features to explore. 5 stars.

  • Useful to use

Useful app to use and of quite use however still feel like it could be improved a bit more, such as by having some more options to choose from within guided journal and even some examples included as a way to try and make it a bit easier thinking of the types of things which could get written about, some articles included to do with relationships with range of family members as well as within friendships and even an article to do with feelings such as experiencing temporary dip in mood after socialising and ideas of how it could try to be better managed as well as information throughout the app being written in easy to understand language and even simplified for a broad range of people to be able to understand, such as ones who could have learning disabilities/difficulties.
