  • Great app!

My husband and I absolutely love this app! It’s so hard to monitor everything your kids do now, we want to make sure they aren’t having to much “screen time” and that they aren’t looking at anything that they aren’t supposed to. Parents have so much going on, now add in monitor your children’s phone usage everyday, there’s not enough time in the day. We searched for an answer and this is it! It’s so easy to use, you can block undesirable sites, limit their screen time everyday, choose what apps take up that limit (so homework or school apps don’t get limited), monitor their web searches, know where they are with the gps tracker, and so much more. You can also quickly and easily adjust the times and options if needed. If you’re looking for help to monitor your kids phones without having to spend hours going through them, this app will give you peace of mind.

  • Great app

I am very happy I found this app. As a working mom, the days are very busy. As much as I tried to set a timer to control his iPad time.. it was hard to enforce and keep track. And every week trying to look through it to see if he downloaded something new and if it was appropriate. This app lets me set the amount of time he can use per day, it allows me to shut it down at a certain time at night even if he hasn’t used all his minutes, and updates me every time he downloads something new so I can look at it. It allows me to block certain games/apps on his iPad. The 2 BEST functions for me... 1. There is a “kill switch” to shut down his iPad immediately if he’s not paying attention or I need him to do something and he’s not putting his iPad down!
    2. If he does something extra good that day or finishes chores, I can “gift” him more minutes on his iPad. It’s a GREAT incentive.
All in all, so happy with this app. I highly encourage other parents to use it!

  • can’t swipe up

go to the second paragraph to start reading if you would like to save time. i am 14 and my mother has decided to have me download this app so i don’t spend every waking hour of this summer on my phone. which i understand and am completely okay with. i have no problem having an app on my phone which helps my mom track my use, that is okay. but, i always clear out my apps. always. you know on an iphone how you double tap the home button and swipe up on all of your apps to clear them out? yeah, i habitually do that to save power on my phone and feel less cluttered. most people do keep that cleared out, in fact.

well with this Screen Time app, if you “swipe up” on it to clear it out in your app switcher, it will DELETE ALL OF YOUR APPS. you have to go back into the Screen Time app to get them all back, and if you’re someone like me who keeps all of your apps in folders, or if you just have some folders in general, getting those apps re-sorted is extremely time consuming and ANNOYING. if you, again, are someone like me who has muscle memory of clearing out your apps and can’t NOT do it, i would HIGHLY recommend a different parental control app. this is just bothersome and very, VERY frustrating. thank you for your time, i hope this helped.

  • Changed our lives

This app works really well. My kids hate it but we love it. It has really helped them to be more aware about the amount of time they were spending on their phones. Now they monitor their own screen time and save time in case a friend might text. The app works really well. We have had no issues with glitches. I especially like the app history and website history. We inadvertently found out our teen was searching some inappropriate subjects. Also it is so easy to customize schedules (different for weekends and weekdays). Being able to pause and add extra time has also been great. We have recommended the app to friends and they have been as thankful as we have to find this app. Can’t recommend it highly enough! Thank you screentime!

  • Pretty good, but a bit buggy.

(If you want the summary, skip to the bottom) Im a teenage boy, and I admit I used to be way to addicted to my phone. I only ever played Final Fantasy, and my grades were suffering because of it. my parents wouldn’t help, saying it was not their problem, so I took matters into my own hands, only allowing 1hr of game time a day. I would give it a five star review, but like the title says, a bit buggy, sometimes it wouldn’t allow any time, and some days there would be no limit. and as you can imagine, that’s counterproductive when your goal is to STOP addiction. But overall, it worked, when I decided I was less addicted and was confident I could remain unattached to my phone and Final Fantasy, I decided to delete the app, problem was, I had deleted it when Final Fantasy was blocked, and so it remained. I re-installed it, but it still locked me out for the next month, it finally let me back in and I was sure to delete it when I wasn’t locked out, buuuuuut... all my progress was wiped clean. If your kid is suffering from phone addiction, like I was, I HIGHLY recommend this app, but make sure to uninstall it when the apps are not blocked, if you so chose. Sorry for the long text (I tend to write walls of text from time to time. I should build a house out of ‘text’ come to think of it...) but to summarize: good if you or your child is addicted, but if you chose to remove it, do it when the apps aren’t blocked.

  • DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!!!!

I downloaded this for my daughter bc she needed to space out her time on her phone. A friend told me about this app so I downloaded it. Immediately, it took away ALL OF HER APPS! She started to freak out, and so did I. She had 4 hours left in her phone, in the middle of the day, and we had to restart both of our phones. She had all of her apps (she had A LOT) rearranged nicely by color. And next thing you know, they’re sorted terribly. It randomly deletes her apps in the middle of the day. She has to restart her phone every 15 minutes! I repeat, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP! I also considered deleting this app bc of how frustrating it was, so I looked at the reviews. Nice to know that it’s rated 2.1 starts and over half of the people downloaded this app rated it 1 star, including me. Looking at what reviews people have written about deleting the app, ok too scared to. I don’t want my daughters apps being deleted permanently! It seems that once deleted, you cannot get them back. If you made it to the end of this long, long rant, thank you. I feel the need to aware parents and children of how trash this app is! DO NOT DOWNLOAD!

  • App has issues

I downloaded the app, and followed all the instructions to set up the app, and not knowing that app has issues to work on IOS devices, i started the app. I clicked to pause my sons ipad, and the app locks it. That worked fine. Then when i clicked to allow play time, it doesn’t work. I then go to the support page to find out that the app is having issues working correctly on IOS device. That might be important to let users know when they download it. When running the app there is a little assist that pops up asking if you need help. That assistant should of told me not to activate the app till it is fixed. After uninstalling the app in a complicated way from my son’s ipad, I did the same on mine. Just be aware using this app. I gave it one star because screen time speaks of what the app can do, but not letting you know that its temporarily out of order for IOS. That would of saved me the discussion i had with my child when he thought i broke his ipad.

  • I’m a kid

So I’m a kid and I think that this app isn’t bad. I just think it’s inconvenient at times. For example, it blocks me out of my phone when I have and hour left and I spend that last hour I have on my phone trying to get my apps back. It’s a pain in the neck to have to use your phone for something in school but you are blocked out and have to make your entire class wait for you to do Kahoot (who else knows about kahoot?) I also believe that it doesn’t give the kid any privacy. Your parents can see everything you do if they upgrade to premium. As a kid who keeps secrets they don’t want their parents to know about which have to do with their phone, I’m not too happy about this part.
Overall, I think it is a good app but it needs some tweaking. Parents might think that this is just a moody teen complaining about how the app is terrible, but I just want it to be more convenient during hours that you may need your phone (like during class when needed for a project) or for the kids who want privacy.

  • It’s good for control

So I gave my niece a phone for her safety and communication wit me . And so she can have fun also ... but it wasn’t working out wit my sister / her mom .. she’d take my nieces phone away for many reasons ... so I took the phone back cause there was no point in paying for a phone and my niece was using it .. so I got this app and it lets me control when my niece can use her phone ... what apps she uses ... and I can check when she has used them and for how long ... she is not allowed to use certain apps during school ... so I can lock them ... bedtime, no problem .. I control the phone so she can sleep and not have the itch to use her phone ... Complete control of what she does and her mom was fine wit that .. and if her mom texts me that she is misbehaving.. I can lock everything except for the apps I want her to use ... and I’m doing this from across the country ... im in LA / California and she’s in NY ... now she can have her phone and I can FaceTime wit her and I can feel happy knowing she has a phone for any emergency too ... great app 👍🏻

  • Does exactly what I need it to do!

I’ve been looking for a screen time monitoring app and this is JUST what I needed. This takes the pressure off me to constantly keep an eye on how much time each of my 3 kids are spending on their devices. The time is set, and when the apps disappear, there is groaning and moaning but they get over it very quickly and move on as opposed to throwing a fit in front of me for literally taking it out of their hands. They can also reference the app on their device to see how much time they’ve used/how much they have left and decide whether they’d like to save it for later. Also, the “chore” list is genius! They can make their bed, clean their room, take out the trash, or any custom chore you enter for extra time. The request is sent to your own phone to approve. So simple! My husband and I love it.
