It is a great concept and app. Love the block and how i can see what they are doing. Also that i can give the child more time as payout. It needs modifications though. For example my sister can take it off her phone whenever she wants there is no security to prevent this. I don't live with her and my parents are older so i downloaded it to help them. Also there were no clear instructions as of how the app works i had to figure it out by myself. It would be nice if it had first steps into the app. Like how to add time or why do the apps disappear after sometime the phone is not in use even though they are free to use. My sister complained that it makes her apps disappear as if it was locked when it is her free time to use and its true. You have to go into the app and press "get my apps back" i would be annoyed too. Its nice to help the parents needs but you also have to think about reason why the child would be annoyed. It is supposed to make them want to abide by the rules and if it makes them annoyed of course it would be broken. The nagging causes more trouble to the parents too.Show lessgeof1564
Good concept, failed app
This app is great, when it works, but I keep finding my son playing with his iPad when it should be locked and limited. When I try and reboot the app it keeps telling me there are problems connecting so it goes ahead and let my kids play. I've had to resort to locking up the devices just as I had before. The app is so cumbersome to delete and set up every time there's a problem, that it's just not worth it. Especially since there's a monthly fee On another note, the app is very poorly integrated with Apple voiceover, so anyone requiring voiceover, or who has visual difficulties, will find this app almost impossible to use. Very poor accessibility features I was very excited to see this app, but very disappointed after using it for the last week. I downloaded this app because I was looking for something that I could monitor, and limit the use on my children's iPad.Show lessou812app

This is an excellent app!
I have three children, each with their own device. After trying several apps that promised to help me control their use of their tablets - but didn't - I finally found Screentime. It does exactly what you want it to do: it monitors time on each app, allows you to selectively block apps, set daily use limits, block usage during specific hours of the day and week and reward your children for doing chores or other good behaviors in real time. So far, the app has been bug-free on my kid's devices and the iPhone app that I use to monitor their tablet use works great. Updates on your child's use of their tablets are also sent via email if you want to receive them. Finally, I also like that the user interface is clean and intuitive. An alternative to taking phone away
I have used this app for one month now and it has been worth every penny. My son was spending a ridiculous amount of time playing games while neglecting homework, sleep, etc. I was going to get him a "dumb phone" for texting and phone calls but then I learned about this app and decided to give it a try. After a bit of trial and error, I figured out how to set limits on certain apps while still allowing access to text/phone features. He also has unlimited access to all apps for 30 minutes a day, and he has learned to budget his time. There is a bit of a learning curve with this app, but don't give up- it is well worth the effort! The app is kid-proof too. I do not think kids can circumvent it unless they know your password. Also, if you have trouble refreshing (at times there seems to be a lag), try restarting your kid's phone.Show lessfrances k
Genius App! Where have you been all my life?
Easy to manage my kids' screen AND ensure they are getting their tasks complete! Set times for certain or all apps to be in bedtime or school mode so they have access to apps they might need. I LOVE the Pause feature which allows me to literally pause all access to their device during dinner time! Easy to set up and easy to use- it motivates my kids to choose a task and complete it for additional screen time minutes and I can approve extra time for them remotely. So when I'm running errands or at work, and they send me an approval request for a completed task (with a pic!!❤️)I can see it's done from anywhere. When their daily time limit is reached, they are LOOKING for more tasks to complete for bonus time. Truly an amazing app that allows me to help manage screen time for each individual child without a lot of time spent organizing or monitoring it. This app has also created awareness for our family of just how much time we spend online and has helped us unplug to do other things.Show lessBizMom34
Great app to track/limit tablet screen time
I've used this app for about a year and love it. I can see what apps are on my kids' tablets and how long they spend on each app. I can set a limit of how much time they can have per day, and make certain apps not count toward their total. I can send them a message that displays on their tablet. I can set up tasks for them to do to earn more time. The only issue I've had is that the app won't refresh if they're not in wifi. Before going on a car trip I add more time, and have them log onto their tablets so the totals update. It is possible to turn it off with a simple swipe, but your settings will default back (for example, if you set it so certain apps don't count toward time). Review for Kindle, Samsung, and iPad
On my Samsung device - This app works like magic. It's amazing. I can limit my son to certain hours of the day, block bedtime and/or home school times, restrict specific apps, and give him tasks to accomplish to earn extra time. It's absolutely perfect. 5 stars
On my Kindle device - It crashes the device every time I install it. It won't work at all. 1 star
On my iPad - It installs fine. It doesn't crash the end device. (Yah!). But it doesn't do as much - won't restrict apps, etc. And for some strange reason, even though it's supposed to limit my daughter to a certain amount of time per day, it does not. And it also won't turn off at bedtime like it's supposed to; it just keeps running. But the iPad version is brand new so I am sure Screentime will receive updates to fix this issue. 2 starsShow lessMrs.Byun

Recently bought a Samsung tablet for my 7 year old for Christmas. This would have been his 2nd one as it was intended to be an upgrade since his previous one was not working anymore. He's a straight A student and all around good kid. Nevertheless I found the app ScreenTime and decided to download a few days after he received the tablet. Had no idea the web search feature would go back all the way to the first day of him using it. You can see all, even the searches they delete. Saw that he had been looking at very inappropriate things for his age, so needless to say he no longer has his tablet as I took him along to return it! I thought he was ready to handle it, but unfortunately he was not. Our kids are very curious, so even the simplest search can lead to things they are not ready to see via Internet. Had to have a lengthy conversation and remind him that mom and dad are your source of truth for everything. So a Big Thanks to the creators of Screen Time. This is a must have for all parents with kids they allow to have devices. Only thing I regret is not downloaded it sooner.Show lessMs.TG
