  • Love it!!

Children love discipline!! Electronics were getting out of control in our household with my son. Especially his phone 😤. This app allowed me to put a time limit on his phone. Also, he can do different task to buy himself more time. I made the task things he needs to improve on; Chores, hygiene, fitness, playing with his dog, grades, and things 11 year olds are supposed to do. It’s working so far, have a happier kid too, and his eyes are actually on me now when I talk to him. Plus, knowing he only has so much time he is more inclined to put his phone down and save some time for later.

The only downside, has nothing to do with the app itself. I just had an issue buying the premium through iTunes! So, if upgrading I would recommend buying through the site and not an iTunes subscription. Plus, it doesn’t cost as much! 👍🏻

  • Great app for parents!

I used another app before this but couldn't do as much as I can with this one. I love how there can be multiple children and devices on one account. The pricing is also not bad. I got a year of service cheaper than with the old app I had that did very little. I love how I can control the amount of times he can spend on his decieves so its's not a free for all and I like that I can add things for him to earn extra time which get's his choires done a little quickly. My 9 year old son hates this app however because it doesn let him do whatever he wants. He doesn't like having parental controls on rated things which I love because I know he can't watch things that are over his age group. Me and my husband both love this app and will continue using it.

  • Works well for us

I’ve been using Screen Time for a couple months now and it works very well. It was hard to find good parental controls for iPads. I tried mypact first but could never get the software downloaded and working correctly. Screen Time was so much easier! I’ve got 3 kids with iPads and it easily allows me to control their usage and it shuts off at a set time every night, regardless if they hit their limit or not. At first they hit their limit everyday but after a week or two they adjusted and now rarely use their full iPad time each day. I hope in future updates it will allow us to control specific apps but for now, It’s cost effective and works exactly how I need it too. Thank you Screen Time. You’ve helped our family out considerably.

  • Not useful with Apple products at all!

The utility of screen time on an iPhone is almost 0. Basically it allowed me to set a time limit for my children for overall use of the phone, but not see which apps they were spending their time on or set limits by app. In addition the device management really only worked if the app was open. If my child swipe the app as they frequently due to close all the open apps it would basically freeze their phone. This is not helpful. The app should be able to just be run in the background and not be controlled whether it's swiped or not. My children could not restart it unless they were connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi. Cellular Data did not work. So, when my highschooler was traveling with her cross country team she was completely paralyzed and unable to do her homework on the Internet. This app is useless and I had to remove it from my children's phones said that they could actually use their phone. Do not pay for this. Find a different app that works better with iPhones.

  • App works just like it says

I've had this app for a few months. After figuring out the ins and outs, it works great now. Took awhile to figure things out. But support is always there and promptly answers your questions.

Love the bedtime timer, pause feature, all of it. As long as your kids don't close the app by swiping it off their iPad, you will be fine. Took my kids one time to do that before they figured out what happens! I like that you can set certain days and times for screen time, bed time, homework time. Best of all is the ability to add work for the kids to earn more time. Both kids clean the house without being asked. My oldest vacuumed the entire house!

Only thing I would like to see added is to put all devices under one time limit. As of now, my oldest has a phone and iPad. When he uses up time on iPad, he will go to his phone. If there was a way to combine both that would be awesome

  • Controls the kids' screen use

I've used this app for my three teenage boys for about six months, and I'm very happy with it. I am able to limit their screen use for games and surfing to a couple of hours a day, and not during bedtime and while at school. They are able to telephone, call, and email whenever they like so we are always able to communicate.

Two of my sons are on the spectrum and used to spend every waking moment on the phone or laptop. We use Apple's parental controls on their laptops, and screen time on their phones. Now, getting them to eat, exercise, do chores, and interact with others is much easier.

I use this app to reward daily exercise with additional screen time. When we travel I can also allow more screen time if I choose. This app makes parenting spectrum kids much easier!

  • Great app, too expensive

The app does a great job doing exactly what it claims to do....for the most. Pros: You have complete remote control of your child's device, such that even if they turn it on, they still can't access their apps. The scheduling features are nice, allowing you to choose the time and day for you to be more restrictive during the week vs the weekend for example. Metrics, tons of metrics, from time per app, usage graphs, etc... great for a few test lean six sigma projects. Cons: App is required to be on both devices and the app has to be open. If your child double taps the home button and swipes the app away to close it, then all the app icons disappear, crying ensues, this also disrupts communication with the parent device, and now you have a real situation. Not something unplanned for, a few on the screen directions, and you're back on track, but it can really ruin a date night.

  • My daughter deleted the app within 5 minutes without even trying

Update: I tried the Our Pack app and it was deleted the same way even when the phone was limited by the app. My daughter is just an average kid. Unless you could order your child to not to delete it. It is useless.

My daughter is addicted to play games on her Iphone 6. She could play 8 hours a day. We have a hard time controlling her. If we took her phone away, she would cry and refuse to eat. We installed this app and hope to limit her game time to 1 hour per day. It looks like it would work and it looks like it is more advance than other apps available. It is also the most expensive once the trail is over at $4.99 per month. If it works, it worth $4.99 per month.

However, my daughter figured out how to delete this app in less than 5 minutes. I installed it back and she deleted it again the next day. She told me she just Googled "How to delete Screen Time" and it came to a two steps instructions right away. That is way too easy. There are many people posting the cracking instructions. Screen Time should make it undefeatable first before release it. Literally all one needs to do is go to Settings, then General, then delete the Screen Time VPN and it disables everything.

  • A worthy work in progress...

The power of Personal Technology can be an incredible blessing, but also a curse in the wrong hands- especially immature hands. It MUST be put in its proper place, which the makers of ScreenTime are accomplishing quite well!! Counteracting the heady power and often dangerous freedoms given by these devices is no easy task (for us adults, let alone immature children!) and there will be kinks to work out. But the fact is, no child actually NEEDS a personal electronic device, thus, it's a LUXURY item. In the real world, luxury items are the natural consequence of good decisions, responsibility, and maturity! ScreenTime helps parents make the awesome privilege of technological freedom and the power of technology commensurate with the child's maturity and choices! Thank you so much, and keep up the good work! For our family it's: Safe device, or NO device!

  • Works like it should

I'm not sure why people are finding apps crashing using this app. We have not had this trouble. It does seem to take apps out of folders and move them to the home screen. I haven't checked to see if that has been fixed yet or not. Overall it works like it should. I have my son's iPad set at 1 hr/day 3hr/day on weekends (he's 6) and then I have various "tasks" set so he can earn more time (20 min extra for unloading/loading the dishwasher, 10 min for remembering to do his homework without being reminded, etc). So far it works perfectly, he uses up his time and either finds other activities to do or quickly earns some extra time so he can finish a show he was watching. You can also use the play button to give some special time whenever you want but that time keeps running when the screen is on regardless of whether or not the kid is actually using any apps. That might be what is confusing some people on how it keeps time. If a kid shuts the app down it will also block all of their "fun" apps until it is reopened ;)

I do wish that there was a "parent override" on the child's device. Some way that a parent could allow/extend access to the child's device without being connected to wifi, maybe by entering a passcode.

I also wish the kindle version would be fixed. I really would like to have this running on my daughters kindle fire!
