Repetitive, dull and gimmicky

Unfortunately this was such a letdown. Here is why.

- The yoga-based workouts all seem to use a handful of basic poses and just repeat them several times over. Instead of using yoga poses to build on and add dynamic movement, the yoga angle is just a gimmick.
- The non-yoga workouts are reminiscent of bad 80s TV aerobic exercises: just repetitions of things like jumping jacks or knee-highs, and the sets of 2-5 movements are repeated twice or more to call it a “workout”. Extremely tedious and boring.
- The longer workouts are mostly warm-up and cool-down: in a 28 minute workout, less than half is actual exercising.
- Even the high intensity workouts burn barely more calories than a brisk walk according to my Apple Watch.

What a disappointing product. Fortunately I was able to get a refund for my subscription at least. But sadly I cannot recommend this.

Love the workouts, user experience is quite crap

The workouts themselves are great and that’s the main point, but it’s annoying to navigate back to where you were, it’s annoying that there is no home page showing for example that you were half way through a challenge so you can just continue where you left off. Instead you get a today page which is annoying if you don’t want to go through a daily list of things. I just want to workout rather than answer a quiz or look at recipes that aren’t relevant to me - in fact, I put in that I’m on a keto diet and the recipes that come up are definitely not keto - again, annoying.

So to get back into my current challenge, which should be somewhere I can immediately access it, instead I have to go back through as if I was just finding it for the first time. Also, if you do one of your challenge workouts but don’t do it from the challenge screen (which I had to do one day as it didn’t log that I had done the previous workout so wouldn’t let me move on to the next, so I had to find it in the main list), it then didn’t register in the challenge that I had done that second workout. So I had to go to the challenge, start it and let it play through so it registered as done. Super annoying.

Pretty good BUT could use some improvements

I’m really enjoying this app! However, it could use some fine-tuning.

Pros:
• The app and widgets are motivating.
• The workouts are great! I have a 16 day streak going right now because I enjoy the workouts so much, and you don’t have to do a long workout to put the work in. The streak has also lasted for so long because the workouts are so addicting. I used to only work out 4 days a week. Whereas, now, I work out every day (sometimes twice a day) whether it be before work or after or both.

Cons/ areas for improvement:
• The app itself could be a little more detailed with guidance on how to make the most out of the app (eg. should I be working out 3x a day or only as much as I want or...).
• I don’t like that the app sometimes freezes or something while you’re doing the workout and doesn’t recover. Then you have to restart the workout. If you try to fast forward to where you left off, you will either get stuck on the loading screen again or it may work.
• I would like to use the widgets and daily planning on my phone and then do the workouts on my iPad since it has a bigger screen. However, I cant do that without breaking my streak because the app across platforms doesn’t sync. So I could do my daily workout on my iPad but it won’t syn to my phone and my streak is broken.

The dumbest way to spend $100 (non refundable)

Don’t waste your time or your money on this terrible app. Lazy developers, buggy UI, no customer support, and no refund. What a giant scam this is.

Good but can be frustrating

This app doesn’t seem good for beginners, even though I am doing the “for beginners challenge”. It would be helpful to include some modifications as some things I find too difficult and just have to sit there and wait as I don’t know an alternative. I also have to do yoga without my glasses on and the verbal instruction alone is not good enough for me to do a lot of it without looking, (but with yoga i’m normally fine with just listening and following instructions) so it could be clearer, half of the time I have to stop, put my glasses on and look then restart again.
Also in parts the transitions are lacking, e.g you will be in a squat and the instructor will say “go to down dog”, whereas it would be nice to say “place your feet back together at the top of the Matt, forward fold, then step it back to down dog” to prevent me just throwing myself into the next position.
I will stick with it as I think the exercises are good for fitness and weight loss but I wish it was clearer.
I also wish there was a way to see which challenge you have started and which is next instead of having to find it every time

Exercices

Ce sont de bons mouvements mais pour une personne de mon poids (185 lb) je trouve que les exercices sont trop difficile pour moi je pensais que cela serait plus facile j arrive pas à faire la moitié des exercices. Merci

Amazing App

This is a truly transformational and amazing app! Not only does it provide exceptional yoga inspired workouts that you can tailor to your physical, mental and time related needs, but it also provides phenomenal tips and tools to empower you to lead a more healthy lifestyle. I was very skeptical initially; I honestly didn’t think that an app on my tiny phone screen could provide the studio quality yoga experience I was accustom to, but it has far exceeded my expectations. After reading hundreds of reviews I took the plunge and have LOVED my experience. Every day I can choose a new workout or combination of workouts to meet my specific needs and I can do it at my convenience. The additional features like the meditations, relaxation music and healthy recipes make this a well rounded app that help you focus on your overall health throughout the day. I also love the ability to set reminders or tailor a daily plan to help you stay on track and committed . Now that I’m incorporating the many components of Asana Rebel into my daily routine, I feel stronger and more in alignment both physically and mentally, which in turn is having a positive impact in many other areas of my life! I highly recommend this app!

Simply the Perfect workout

I’m 44 and have been using the Asana Rebel app for several years - and NOTHING comes close. Before then I’d never done yoga-I thought that for a workout to give results it had to HURT! then on Facebook I saw this ad for asana rebel featuring a totally ripped lady, sweaty from what was obviously a tough workout.....and it was for a YOGA app!! Due to problems with my spine I was seriously needing to find a lower impact way to exercise, so I thought I’d give it a try, and I’ve never looked back. This app does EVERYTHING.....there are workouts to burn fat, increase muscle tone, but also to seriously stretch those hard to reach tight places, and also to relax you. These workouts make me feel better, more confident and positive both mentally and physically. I feel calmer, more poised and capable. And for a working mum running a business and currently homeschooling 2 warring kids, feeling calm is a serious achievement! I’d have gone utterly loopy of it weren’t for the 30 minutes or so that I lock myself away for with Asana Rebel!!!!

Pretty good but could use some improvements

I couldn’t see any of the exercises before I got a subscription so couldn’t see exactly what was in here. The sounds for sleeping are great! And there are some good recipes in the nutrition area. But they just list ingredients and not how much of each ingredient to add. A complete recipe would be a lot more helpful.
My biggest struggle is finding workouts that I can do in their selection. I have a bad ankle, I’m about 50 lbs overweight and 40. And all of the instructors so far are young, skinny and SUPER flexible. I need a ‘modified’ version for older less flexible people. I have hurt my ankle trying to do some of these moves. Even the ‘low intensity’ category has parts I can barley to. They defiantly need to add a ‘beginner/modified/40+’ category.

Great app! I’d make one or two changes though

Overall I’m really loving the Asana Rebel app; I’ve been using it daily for almost two weeks which is almost unheard of for me! One thing that really confuses me though is why on earth I’m not able to change my diet preferences?? When I first got the app I was asked my height/weight and diet preference; at the time I selected no particular preference for diet but now I would like to try keto, and there’s no option to change that. So in my recipe suggestions are recipes that aren’t necessarily keto-friendly and I can’t sort them. What if I wanted to become vegan, and the recipes suggested had cheese? Seems a bad oversight that the choice of recipes isn’t able to be tailored in the same way the workouts are. At least have a function where, like in the workout section, you can select a tab at the top that shows you all the recipes, and then a tab that shows all the keto ones, and all the vegan ones etc. That way it’s really clear what options are available for which lifestyle choice.
Other than that, though, I’m still really loving the app overall.
