  • Pay at kiosk

Let people pay at the kiosk so they don’t have to download a horrible app that doesn’t work
  • Would not let me log in

Took my money, but will not let me login
  • Bad UX

Every other city has figured out how to do this seamlessly, the app experience is terrible. Making and account and getting everything verified takes way longer than it should. Too many steps for renting a bike as a tourist for half a day.
  • App Review

First of all, I would like to say that using this service is a great way to get around the city. Though I use this service everyday, it can be unreliable because stations are often ‘unavailable’ and many times the bikes have maintenance issues that make riding difficult. Overall, I will continue to use this service but if another business like this came to Philly, I would absolutely try that. Not to mention, the customer service reps are a hit or miss in my experience. I’ve dealt with very rude agents who have handled issues poorly when I’ve called about station or bike related issues.

  • Attitude and approach to customer service is frustrating

    Customer service standard is cheap.
Indego is a miser. Will suspend your account for as little as a penny with no warning. Very inconvenient when your at the rack just about to start your work commute. Also, they won’t take my debit card for my transit spending account, issued by my employer. It works perfectly fine for Septa and NJT. Was told it only take cards issued by banks. Just a sneaky form of discrimination and exclusion. Customer service rep condescendingly kept repeating we only take cards fdic insured. They have more respect if it wasn’t a monopoly. I’ll still use as it’s the only city commuter bike service.

  • Good in theory

In theory this is a great service. In practice it will leave you stranded or walking all over to try to find the elusive station that is both online and stocked with bikes.

I want to like it, I really do. Maybe once they can reliably stock bikes where masses of people are getting out of work, I could use the service without anxiety about not having access to a bike to get home.

  • Would give them 0 stars if I could

While the convenience is the only real selling point, the bikes have issues 70% of the time, whether the gears don’t shift, the seat is falling off, or a tire is completely flat. And if by chance you find a working bike the station could be down and you may have to walk 5-10 blocks to find another working bike. I know they can afford to maintain the bikes/stations but they choose to do the bare minimum. They will also wait to rack up charges and hit you with ebike fees out of the blue. It’s really frustrating because there aren’t many alternatives.
