  • Hilarious music/narration, awesome gameplay, and lots of dead chumps.

    I highly recommend this game to anyone. You can play it anywhere anytime! On a plane, during a movie, at home, at work, while you're driving a car, and even during a meeting with the boss.

    "Mr. Brown this is a very serious meeting and you're playing a game! Do you take this job seriously?" yells the boss.

    "Uh huh," grunts Mr. Brown.

    "Wait are you playing the Guild of Dungeoneering?" asks the boss.

    "Yup," says Mr. Brown.

    "Can I watch you play?" asks the boss.

    "Sure," says Mr. Brown.

    The boss pulls up his chair and sits next to Mr. Brown and watches him play the Guild of Dungeoneering for three days straight and the company begins to fall apart because everyone ends up watching Mr. Brown play the Guild of Dungeoneering.

  • A game for real gamers!

    Back when nerds were nerds, we had games that charged us up front and then challenged us. We lugged our giant computers over to each others houses and shut ourselves indoors while others played under the day star. We called this "fun" because it was. Now everyone plays games on their iPhone like a bunch of noobs. They insist on free games but are willing to get nickel and dimed. The games are dull and dumb.

    Well this game has a bit of that old school flair. Pay up front, no hand holding, good humor, somewhat challenging. Recommended!

    An interesting but great take on a roguelike DnD style game. Gameplay and combat are both fun and non repetitive. Focus is on building up your guild with new and improved characters/gear rather than leveling up the same heroes over and over. Game reminds me of a mixture between DnD and rogue legacy. Definitely worth the price.

  • Great (in ice-cream-on-a-hot-day kind of way)

    GoD is a joyful game! I love the combination of simple strategy, dark humor, and light aesthetics. It's also that perfect mobile game in that I can sink a few hours into it in one sitting or just pop along in 10 minute increments during my day. Like Iron Hide Games - this is a studio I'll watch for years to see what they make next.

  • Very entertaining and funny

    I enjoyed playing this game on my spare time. It's entertaining and has just enough challenge to keep you going. The music is part of the fun, but you don't have to listen to sound in order to have fun with this game.
  • Easily underestimated gem

    While not flashy this game has a great premise and execution. It is easily playable in bite sized sessions, and has no in app purchases or pay to win nonsense.

    The combat deck building card system is fun and engaging. I found some classes underwhelming, but the ones I enjoyed really flavored the tactics in different ways.

    The dungeon exploration card playing seems weird at first where you are sort of both hero and dungeon builder, but the pre-built sections and goals for each quest actually make it work well. Definitely worth the price of admission.

  • A very good game

    I like the approach to the graphics, and the card based play. Even the music is amusing when your character dies. Its a good game.

    Maybe it's just me, but the cards are a little confusing to figure out in terms of which ones compliment each other. It would be good if there was a tutorial that said what the differences between the traits were, and more information on the character strengths/weaknesses are. For instance, I got a monk, but I'm not sure how to use him and what cards to use with him because I'm not sure what his strengths are.
    Also, I expected to die a lot, but sometimes it happens after a lot of time has already been spent. You carefully plan and get good cards, and move slowly, then you get killed by a sudden strong enemy that's a lower level than you.
    Also, it would be nice if you could keep the traits you spend a long time obtaining for a character. When your character dies - and it's setup for that, you have to start completely over without the traits you spent an hour to get.
    Last, if the characters lose everything when they die, then it would be nice if they could replay dungeons. Once you finish a level you can't access it again, which means you're moving on to harder levels with your weak brand new character each time he dies.

  • Super fun, and now stable too!

    The game is super fun, and with the latest update it no longer crashes even on my decrepit old third-generation iPad. In fact, it's not only stable, it's quite snappy now as well.

    I kept coming back before, even when it *was* crashing all the time; now it's stable it's like a dream. Well worth the price.

  • Great Game

    This game has a good amount of unique strategy and it's great (sadly refreshing) buying a game without having to worry about acquiring gems/coins/shards in order to continue playing.

    My only critique is that I wish there were less choices where the best option is to play it safe. There's a lot of rng but most of the time it pays off to not take a risk and that means you end up with some of the same items on every dungeon run.

    But that's a minor complaint that I only really noticed after dozen hours or so of playing.

  • One of the best games out right now

    This is a great, if somewhat frustrating, game. It's cute, the music is very fitting, the combat is simple but interesting, and it doesn't require your full attention so you can play casually. It is frustrating in that you will die a lot and there will be nothing you can do about it. Timed runs will simply not give you the floor tiles you need, cards will not be available, and luck won't go your way. Once you get used to that idea, it's a lot of fun.
