  • Exceptional service and not supporting corporate rideshare

I love the ride shares it’s just so convenient when you take your car into the shop her just need a ride somewhere. I have an issue with the competitors who pulled out of Austin, then screw the city at the legislature only to come back In defiance of the Austin voters. I won’t use their service for that reason. And I don’t have to write yours better for me and better for the drivers
  • Ride to airport from S Lamar

My driver Martin picked me up 2 mins after I requested a pick-up. He drove a beautifully clean Tesla and we enjoyed nice conversation on the way. He showed me how to understand the app as it was my first time. I will definitely use this service again and recommend it to friends.
  • Choose Ride Austin over Uber!

I rode with a Ride Austin driver once who explained to me the virtues of the company and I’m a full supporter now. Ride Austin has competent drivers who are thoroughly vetted, adhere to Austin’s driver legislation, and who receive fair compensation from the company, unlike Uber. Oh, and they’re a non-profit that supports local charities.
  • A written review

Chad was a very gracious and accommodating driver. He showed up in a PIMP polished black suburban. And dressed to kill. Even brought out the driving gloves! Being picked up by Chad as a driver for a local Austin ride-share company is a real treat. I recommend him for any high end event, or simple good natured conversation when driving locals home from the airport after arriving back from their awful business trips to Possum Ridge Arkansas. Go get em, Chad!
  • Not got first experience

Booked a ride that said it would be there in 3 minutes. 2 minutes later I do the real time eta and the driver is driving in circles. It gets changed over to another driver a few minutes later and then things were ok.
  • Preferred ride share

I always use Ride Austin ever since Uber and Lyft fought with the city of Austin over vetting of drivers and left Austin. Ride Austin takes better care of drivers who in turn take care of riders.
  • App only works with wifi?

This was my first experience using any kind of ride service, and I chose Ride Austin because of the background checks and history of the company. I got to the airport and the app wouldn't work unless I connected to the wifi network. Luckily Austin's is free at the airport, but when I stepped outside to catch my ride the wifi didn't reach and the app stopped working. I had 5 bars and LTE and plenty of data. Not sure why it won't work over cell service internet - is this normal? Luckily my driver called me and told me even though the ride disconnected, she could still come get me. The service from Cortrina was excellent! But seems like to be competitive Ride Austin needs to be accessible through cell data as well as wifi.

    Developer Response

Hi most of our riders are using cellular. Can you check Settings > Mobile Data and look for RideAustin? Make sure that is on. Thanks for using Rideaustin!
  • Like the company, hate the app

Like the app and what it stands for although the latest few versions are terrible. Many times the drivers get pinged as they are dropping off other riders. So you have to wait for them to drop them off. Which sometimes means adding 10-15 minutes to their arrival. It tells you that you have roughly a 4 minute wait when in reality it's usually 15- 20 minutes.
  • Best way to travel in Austin

Support Austin local companies by using this nonprofit. Works very similarly to Uber and Lyft but only with a charitable aspect to it. I’ll use Ride Austin for everything in this city. Easy to use and works a lot faster for getting rides in this city since drivers prefer Ride Austin.
  • Around the block

Nelson didn’t complain when we had to go around the block to pick up something we left behind. He new how to work around the Austin traffic and got us to our destination on time! ❤️
