  • Fascinating ride and history lesson!

I feel so lucky to have gotten a ride from Tariq! After talking about Austin a little, he gave me great insight into prayer timing, Ramadan, and Kashmiri history and in relation to the current conflict. This is why I love RideAustin - every trip is an opportunity to meet new people and learn new things!
  • Love Ride Austin

I wish everyone would use them. They’re local, they give back to charity and they have great drivers!
  • Where are you?! Had to cancel!

I really want to use/like local company that offers fare round-up donations but Ride Austin did not work at all. I requested a ride around 5:15 pm to HEB on Brodie and William Cannon, about 10-15 minutes max drive from my home.

Needed to pick up meds at pharmacy by 6 pm. App said driver would arrive in about six minutes. Finally gave up and canceled as no car had arrived by 5:50 pm.

Why did cars seem to be circling my area onscreen with pickup times fluctuating from zero to six minutes!? There certainly was never a driver at my house as shown once.

Ride Austin should I try again tomorrow or go with another service?
  • Why Drive?

Last night my friend lost her keys. I attempted to use the app to cuddle checked him. I entered my phone number in the app says it will collect to him. It never did. I tried last night and twice today. This app is horrible
  • Support a local business!

My wife and I agreed we would never use Uber or Lyft after they tried to bully Austin and got their way with the Texas legislature.
We tried RideAustin today and it was a delight; we will use them often.
  • RideAustin Good For Austin

RideAustin has lower rates than Uber & Lyft, and yet still pays its drivers more than either of those global brands. They arrive quickly, and the app works smoothly. RideAustin also helps our towns in many ways, and one of them is that they donated $300,000 to local charities last year. Another is that drivers are fingerprinted. I ❤️ RideAustin!
  • I still have to restart my iPhone to pay

The alert messages in this app can’t be dismissed. To make them go away, I have to restart my iPhone. Only then can I pay the driver.

On the good side, we have finally managed to get the app to accept our approximate home address, instead of deciding that we live 2 blocks over. We enter the exact address, but it still tells the driver to come to either our house or the neighbor’s.

    Small steps, I guess.
  • Buy Local

Why not use a local non-profit when the service is better and the price is lower?!
  • Clean and clear interface

The app is well designed and intuitive. Never had it crash in me.
  • Drunk driver pickup

When my driver pulled up he got out and said, “Give me 2 minutes to wake up. I was falling asleep on my ride here.” Then he got on the highway and considered lanes optional. He was swerving all over the place. I had him drop me on the side of the highway and called 911. Check your drivers ride Austin. Not just them though. Ride sharing in general is bottom of the barrel at this point. Any worth while drivers realized 5 years ago it’s a garbage job.
