Some issues that needs to be fixed for the app
I was really excited to find this program, and so I went ahead and paid the membership fee. After using it for a few hours I noticed a few issues that could be fixed for UI. For example, when you open a position and you read under activities, it gets cut off in the bottom. I also noticed when I was inputting my background info the text would run off to the side and get cut off as well. I may consider just using the website instead but so far it’s been fine.Show lessteimvvn

What makes this app useless: When using “login with Apple ID”, I am able to login only using the app, not the website. This is because iPhone memorises passwords by the host name, which in this case is NOT worldpackers.com. I have no idea which of the saved passwords belongs to their site. Worldpackers collects $50 from travelers by selling a false expectation that people can get free stays in exchange of volunteer “work” which they pitch in a way that doesn’t sound like work. We were a host on the platform and the first 5 travelers who came really had no interest whatsoever in working at all. The first traveler wanted to tour the island the second day of work, the second traveler never showed up, the third one ended up upgrading to a paid room once they understood there was volunteer work involved otherwise and the fourth went on vacation after two days of volunteering. Don’t waste your $50 for the false hope they sell you. If you’re truly interested in volunteer work, all the NGOs including our our NGO have websites that advertise for volunteer positions. Much more than exchanging skills for accommodation, exchanges involve collaboration, cultural immersion, personal and professional development on both sides. The amount paid by volunteers goes to Worldpackers to verify and approve more hosts in the community, produce more and more content, and continue to improve the platform, in addition to paying our team. As a connection platform, we rely on the feedback sent by WP members about each experience to know what happens beyond the platform. This feedback is taken into account in our Policy for the Quality and Safety of Experiences, applied to both hosts and travelers of the platform. If a member of the WP community receives recurring negative feedback and offers experiences that are not in line with the purpose of a collaborative and safe experience promoted by Worldpackers, this member can be deactivated from Worldpackers.. We are really sorry that the collaborative experience model promoted by Worldpackers is not the best fit for your project, but we highly appreciate your feedback and wish you much success in other volunteering models you have commented on. Couldn’t signup :(
I downloaded the app for the first time today. Unfortunately I was not able to signup with Facebook. When I tried to use email signup, I got stuck at giving my birth date. The datePicker somehow shows blank and I was not able to pick my birth date on the picker so I couldn’t complete the signup process. You have to pay for this application and then after when you are trying to apply to Asia no body answer you and the one that answer you or asking you a lot of money sometimes 60$ a day to work for them .. and also one of the host told me that this price was to cover everything if they get cut because it’s not legal to do that over there! I ask a refund the first week and then after they answered me the next week and they said that the refund was for the first week only. They are all steeler and abusing our generosity, both of them.Show lessmariemaximb

Pay to be “Verified “
I’m tired of traveling app like this that tout Verification by payment of a subscription or fees. That’s only verifying I’m paying for membership services not because I or anyone else is a safe trustworthy person! Where are the requirements for background checks? Personal references? Of both parties.
Also, if I can only find one or two opportunities (with no guarantees I’ll get either host spot) and have no plans on making this a yearly lifestyle why should I pay $50 for it?!!! Ridiculous!

Hey! Don’t worry! All our hosts are verified by us. We have a very strict process that helps us make sure this is a trustworthy place for our dear travellers. And the price of the membership is not only for the trips, but for our support. We have a whole team available to help the traveler before, during and after a trip.
