Works great!
I put Flair vents in my upstairs bedroom and daughters downstairs bedroom. It has worked perfect with the ecobee thermostat. Turns the heater on, opens her vents and closes mine.
This means that the heater doesn’t need to stay on nearly as long in order to heat up her room fast. I have been watching my gas usage and it has dropped considerably.Show lessMark Hilgi
Good Hardware / App UX Horrible
The positives are the hardware seems pretty solid and works decently.
The big problem is that the app interface takes forever to update (It’s a really horrible web ui made into an app and we all know how bad those are).
I’ve been trying to get the temp offset dialed in so it matches my nest but I never quite know if it’s working because sometimes the ui updates and other times it doesn’t. Then when I think it’s right the vents aren’t open and they should be at this temp. Really maddening.
There are other ux issues I have like it’s not quite clear why I can’t run my puck off battery. I mean it comes with batteries and a mount. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Show lesssledmonkey
Not Consistent
I have a small garage that is completely spray foamed. The puck is installed 10 ft from the Slim Wall Unit. My away temperature & home temperatures don’t reflect what the app is calling for. Brand new system. I’ve since shut the puck down to use the factory wall remote. I can’t have a garage 60 plus degrees all winter when I’m calling for 51 degrees.Show lessHigh Head Blues
Great HVAC improvements, some bugs still there to iron out
I’ve have these vents for a couple of weeks now and the comfort in the house has materially improved, with about 15% lower energy consumption. The intergration with ecobee is really powerful.
However, the Away detection with ecobee sensors seems to get mixed up every morning, so it takes a bit of tinkering with the app to get them to sync up smoothly again. And the App itself could have some usability improvements.
But overall, great way to direct the hot/cold air where it really matters.Show lessFlameWorth
Good concept bad execution
Schedules in the App appear and than disappear cannot see current room day of if a mode is selected, room temp is inaccurate despite collaborating it up and down.Hasid33
Bumpy road
we started using the Flair app at the recommendation of the installer of our mini splits. It has been very glitchy and inconsistent and difficult to use. I’m not sure why, but the installer said that this app is not well loved, but it’s the best out there. I wish there was a better user manual for it. Too cold, too hot - just right
With two little kids sleeping in bedrooms on the north side of the house I am glad I made the decision to get a total of 5 smart vents and replace all old vents in bedrooms with flair vents. Paired with Ecobee, I now don’t need to worry if it’s too warm or too cold in respective kids rooms. Each room has a puck and my wife loves that she can adjust the settings on the fly. So far I have been impressed and thinking about expanding the system to downstairs. The winter is still to come, but so far it’s very promising.Show lessIgorjekG
Terrible UX and Customer Support
The app for the Flair Puck is atrocious. Slow / non responsive features and buttons do not function when you push them. Then their customer support program is even worse. No online chat or call based customer. I’m stuck trying to setup a Puck and I have no ability to chat, speak, or otherwise contact anyone. I can send a message…but then I lose all of my system setup so far. Miserable product that will be sent back.Show lessDcaeling
