Hello, the app doesn’t function at all. It was slow at the set up process. And, it doesn’t load anymore. I have refreshed the app multiple times. There are bugs and it keeps on crashing. Please fix it
  • Works Great!

Completely evened our the temperature throughout the house. Easy to setup.
  • App works, but needs some help.

App works fine (although I had to delete it and reinstall it). The app and hardware work as described. The hardware could be made a little better. It works, but when you are spending this kind of money you want quality, not plastic.
  • Good, not Great

The app has a learning curve and not straight forward. I have four vents and connect with my Ecobee 3 with 2 ecobee room sensors. The Ecobee sensors do not show up in the app on a main room page. You have to go into edit settings to see them. Wish it would recognize them and allow me to see the room temp through this app. Additionally, there is not way to manually open/close a vent. Lastly, I would like the ability to set a range for the vents. My Ecobee is set to 66-73°F; however, the Flair App will try to keep the room exactly at 1 temperature setting (ex: 73°F only and not the range). As for the vent itself, it can be a bit noisy when closed and A/C running.

Hi Tyler, ecobee sensors are imported during the setup process and can be assigned to rooms during the setup flow. In the Flair app, the room tile displays the temperature of the ecobee sensor in that room. If more than one are assigned to a room, Flair displays the average temperature. To operate a Vent manually, in the Flair app, uncheck the Puck or ecobee sensor in that room (Room Settings->Devices) to display a slider that can be dragged to open or close position. The default hysteresis value is 1F. Write into hello@flair.co to have us adjust this for you. For the Vent, check the seal around it to ensure it's seated well in the vent opening, and you might try rotating the Vent 180 to get a better seal.
  • Balanced out the house nicely

Vents worked great to balance out the temps across the bedrooms. No more hot or cold rooms.
  • A great equalizer

My master bedroom was always 6 to 8 degrees warmer than my other bedrooms but after installing a couple of Flair vents in the master bedroom, the temperature difference is much less. As a bonus, they were a breeze to install and look great.
  • Why is WiFi setup such a pain?

When I got my first pair of pucks/vents I wasted 2 hours to go past the puck wifi step. I now guess I was lucky it worked. After I ordered 3 more I wanted to change the gateway wifi, now I am stuck again. Why???
Also requiring all modules connect to the same wifi is not very smart. Whoever gas larger homes most likely have multiple wifi networks and not ever network is accessible from every vent/puck location. Have you thought about it?

  • Good product but not user friendly

This software has a learning curve; comparing to most other smart home products, this one begs the everyday man to learn and adapt to its own ecosystem of jargon, settings and interface versus using something easier to manage for common folk. Work in progress I suppose.

Geofencing has proved to be finicky at best and it seems every so often we run into the flair app not recognizing we are home and keeping us frozen in bed with no heat. This has happened at least 6 times since ownership of this product and all installed updates (6 months of ownership). We use this for 2 room mini split Carrier system.

Eventually, this will probably be top tier all around but it feels like it’s a work in progress from our perspective.

Hi Vixitl, we've made improvements to our geofencing system. Please contact us at hello@flair.co if you continue to experience this issue.
  • Good hardware, amateurish software, missing features

The puck (hardware) does what it’s supposed to do, though the build quality feels cheap. It’s missing the ability to control several features of my mini/split, though some were added in the recent firmware update. While I understand the need to avoid rapid on/off cycles, they need to introduce a way that the system turns off completely when the actual temp is way above/below the set point in scheduled mode.

The software is a mess. It feels like a minimally functional version of software to sell the hardware. Several of the adjustment widgets appear to be embedded in selectable text fields so that when you try to slide to adjust temperature you get a blue text selection indicator. The main “dial”-style adjuster to set temperature is oversensitive, making it near impossible to easily adjust temperature by a couple of degrees. The “hold” function (to temporarily override a scheduled temp) defaults to “permanent”, with no obvious way to change it to a shorter period when setting; and the facility that looks like it should allow you to set a duration just doesn’t work.

Overall it’s a worthwhile product, if only to be able to adjust my mini split remotely. But overall the software needs major work.

Hi ibderPlau, Have you tried using the RoomSense™ feature? This allows Flair to nudge the set point on your mini split as necessary to maintain the set point. It's located in Flair menu, Home Settings->IR Devices. Expand the mini split and tap the switch to enable RoomSense. We've made improvements to our hold feature - tap the hold indicator button to select a different hold duration.
  • Flair Is Amazing!

Words can’t describe how Flair has resolved my hot and cold spots. It is a pure genius invention.

    A must have for everyone!
