  • Great product but app needs serious help!

The flair vents work great. Pucks once calibrated are working fine as well. The app on the other hand is often frustrating to use. I find myself having to adjust temps multiple times because if I hold my finger too long on any given spot the app will act as if I’m trying to copy and paste something. Like the area I’m placing my finger on actually gets selected. It’s weird and I’ve never experienced that in an app before. Maybe simple up and down arrows would work better? Temp often jumps a few degrees from the temperature I’m trying to select. There’s a refresh icon in the top right corner but I can’t tell if it does anything because there’s no status bar for the refresh. I suppose I can alleviate my frustration by just setting schedules and not having to deal with the app, but I’m constantly adjusting things to keep my family comfortable, so that’s not really an option. I hope this app evolves into the great app it could potentially be.

  • Great product

I built an extension on to my house and the flair products allowed me to use a mini split in the addition and integrate it into the rest of the house easily. Smart vents are so helpful in keeping rooms the right temperature!
  • Not quite there

Looks like the app isn’t quite there in terms of running/communicating smoothly. We are in fall so we change whistle a bit from heat to cool. Only problem is the app doesn’t communicate that to the pucks.

I have to force quite and retry more times than not. I’ll update my review if they can work out the bugs.

  • Smart vent

    Works flawlessly 💯💯💯
  • Wonderful product

I think this product is great. It is easy to install and set up. My only complaint is the vents does not close all the way when my HVAC is on. Also my old air register was slightly bigger than flair so now the aluminum tape that sealed the air duct and dry wall is visible.
  • Great product

My kids’ rooms and our master bedroom are on the same zone. My wife and I like it very cold when we sleep; the kids do not. The smart vent neatly solved the problem without requiring redesigning the HVAC system.
  • It works

Works as advertised and really set temperatures in specific rooms
  • Great idea but convoluted software

This is a great idea. I have an east facing room that needs full air in the morning to keep cool but gets too cold in the afternoon/evening when the west side is getting full sun snd being cooled, even with multiple room sensors. This seemed to be the ideal solution to be able to better control the air flow to rooms when I need it.

The software is not easy to use and there is no easy way to just set a schedule to turn the vent on and off. After digging through the help information, there were instructions to game the system temperature settings to get the vent to do what I wanted. I noticed though that integrating it with my smart thermostat, I got weird temperature holds and my schedule to cool the house for sleep based on other room sensors didn’t work, even though reading the support material, this shouldn’t happen. Eventually, I deleted everything, set up the Flair vent separately as if I had a dumb thermostat, and then followed the instructions to game the temperature settings to open/close the vent and it seems to work as I intended. A big pain to get there though.

Still, great promise with this product if they can make improvements with the software.

  • Fixed the temperature problem in my baby’s room

My baby’s room got too hot when turned on the heat and too cold when we turned on the AC. I bought one Flair and one Puck, installed them, and, like magic, the room is now almost always a perfect 70 degrees. Much cheaper than the $4k I was quoted to install zoned HVAC. Great cost effective solution for my problem. Wish it integrated with our Nest Thermostat though.

  • Greater control

We use flair to control two zones. One with a mr cool heat pump and the other using traditional forced air heat and cooling. So far we love the ability to control the temps in the areas we commonly use while leaving the least used area either ignored or set at 78 for the summer. If you have a heat pump with no WiFi but uses a infrared remote, the puck is great. We set different temperatures all day and when set to inactive at night it shuts the heat pump off. Currently I plan to add vents to all room, a few pucks, and use the Ecobee room sensors on the other rooms since they also work with flair. As long as there are no subscription fees, I highly recommend.
