Don’t waste your money
For anyone interested in purchasing the CAR:LINK ASCL6 remote start cellular interface module, I recommend that you don't. The first year of service that comes included with the purchase of the module works very well, but I made the mistake of renewing it for two years on one of my cars, and after the renewal, I started having problems. For about four months now, it hasn't worked with the phone; it has completely lost the signal. I contacted customer service, and they told me that the system needed to be updated, which they supposedly did, but the issue persists. I reported it again over a month ago, but they never responded. So now I'm stuck with this system. That's why I recommend that you look for an alternative and don't buy this brand and model.Show lessMilton munguia

The app is great, does what it’s advertised to do, and does it well. My only 3 complaints is the lack of installation instructions, perhaps build them into the app? And while it’s great it integrates with Alexa and google, sadly there is no Siri compatibility yet I’d like to see that. And my only other complaint is while the GPS locate feature is great, it does not have the capacity to track the car from the built in map. I’d like to see a option to either show the cars location AND your phones location and be able to get navigation directions, OR a button to open the cars location in Apple/Google maps and do it from there.Show lessStevescs
Great when it works
When it works, it’s great. Much faster than some OEM apps for remote start/lock/unlock. But several times per week it’s like the car won’t connect over the network. Not sure if it’s a low cell signal on my car, or if it’s a server issue on the app’s side.
Also, the GPS feature does not work very well and often says it GPS too low like it can’t get a signal. Overall, great when it works. Just wish it would work all the time.Show lessbcoop8
Works great when it connects over cellular.
The app worked great when I first got it and it would connect right away. Not it seems to only connect 85% of the time. And the times it does work, it either takes a minute or it works perfectly and instantly. I am in a populated area with good signal so I’m not sure what’s going on. The app is very clunky and frequently don’t get the positive 2-way response and the cell module is installed per instructions and has perfect signal. I frequently have to close out of the app a few times to get it to refresh properly and sometimes it says the command failed but it didn’t. Seems to be getting worse with time as our phones get updates the app gets worse. Can’t remember the last time I saw an update for the app. I will likely be returning and getting something of better qualityShow lessjaxfljustin
One little issue
App won’t link to the car sometimes . Link no communication. Had to wait bit in parking 10 min while car was runnin and locked. Then finally it seen it I rebooted phone 3 times I couldn’t get it to recognize . Not sure whydjrun23

Ok so far…
Doing much better than Viper SmartStart so far for more semi-rural home areas. One issue though that I’ve sent to them is that the main account password MUST allow for special characters. Presently their system does NOT allow. And you won’t know what’s going on initially when it keeps telling you AFTER you already established a password that supposedly you’re entering it incorrectly to logon. So yeah, ONLY letters and numbers for now. Will continue to monitor and update. For those writing BAD reviews, most times it ties back to having a BAD installer of the hardware rather than the app!Show lessMatt in MI
