  • Loved it - now not sure it even works

At first it was very frustrating as the braking measurement seems a bit too sensitive. I did watch my driving (as I usually do) and was able to get 20% discount which was worth my frustration. Now - not so much. My discount went down to 15%which is still not bad, but no one anywhere can seem to tell me why!! I contacted everyone from my agent to the app support and I get the same answer. They all tell me the normal measurements, but no one can tell me why my discount went down - which measurement affected the discount. I wonder now if this is just a carrot which does nothing except try to get us all to drive better. I would think if there was a algorithm that figured the discount, someone would be able to show me a report. So in the mean time I will continue to try and bite that carrot- as that is all I can do….American Family - please do better…

  • Frustrating At Times - CHECK YOUR RECENT TRIPS OFTEN

I have been very adamant about not checking my phone when I drive, but it’s very frustrating to go back & see distracted trips when I KNOW I did not check my phone. Or the fact that it doesn’t recognize when I am obviously not the driver (example: riding in someone else’s car - not even connected to the Bluetooth or anything like that) so I don’t understand how it can’t tell the difference?

If you don’t check your recent trips often enough, you lose the ability to change it when you were the passenger.

Overall the app runs very smoothly & is easy enough to work, so I appreciate that. I just hope the accuracy gets better.

  • Kerry Kleve

This app has turned me into a better driver. I am more aware of my speedometer, slowing down and definitely not talking on my cellphone. I also am a competitive person so I like to be a lot more than average. It’s a great app, and I think all young drivers just starting out to drive should have this app.; as, it has benefited me so greatly at 54 years of age.

  • Good if you don’t take public transportation or don’t travel overseas

I hate this stupid idea of tracking your driving habits. At least you should train your program to better identify if the person is driving or just taking a bus or train. Better, it will nicely identify your are using the phone oversea on a subway train. You will lose the streak without knowing it and lose the discount you deserved . Sure you can manually change the trip, but who is going to check it on a regular basis? I’m moving out of this dishonest insurance company because this, trying to steal my money with faulty app.

  • Not quite

App says Im distracted when never touch phone. App says I'm driving when I'm the passenger. App says I'm driving when typing driving directions into maps from parking lot. Conceptually the app is on the right track, but not ready for release to the public with it collecting false data that impacts my car insurance discount. This app requires constant babysitting to point it in the right direction with data collection.

They should provide option of bringing back the old school devices that plugged into your car, those at least did not collect false readings.

  • False readings

When you pull off the road so you can answer a call, it still counts against you, even though you are not moving.
Or if you use you maps app while stopped at a signal light, it still counts against you.
It’s accuracy on knowing if your driving or a passenger is hit and miss. It would be better if it asked before the drive or after if you were driving.

  • Add reason for removing drive

Though you recommend not giving your phone to someone else to use while driving, this is unreasonable. I have kids who do not have their own phone and I will have them text or look stuff up for us while driving. If my wife’s phone is not working well, she will grab mine. You need to add a reason that others were using the device while I was driving. I know others who give their device to their young kids on a drive to play games or watch shows.

  • My husband was afraid of this app-likes it now

When I first signed up for this insurance and told my husband that they had this app that tracts driving, he was so nervous. i’m the one that has hit things or made traffic errors not him at least as far as getting tickets. but I noticed that he would drive fast sometimes so this app has slowed down his driving. I feel better being in the car with him. I also find that I learned things to make myself a better driver so I’m really glad that we enrolled in the program where it tracks your driving.

  • My discount reduced 50 percent!

When I first started using the app I had a 5% savings. I definitely drive better since using it and I no longer use my phone while driving. So that in itself is wonderful! The bad; it marks me as the driver if I am using my phone while my husband is driving. This means I have to make sure I remember to go in the app and change it - I have forgotten a few times and got dinged by that. I’m much better at it now! My driving stats are better than average for distracted, they’re on the far low end for speeding and hard braking - all good, you’d think. Until I get to the next 6-month term and my discount plummeted for seemingly no good reason; now I’m only getting 2%? That’s more than half reduced. When I called my agent they had no idea why that would happen? They suggested maybe I’m driving more often. Sadly, that’s not the case as I have less than a 4-mile commute and also work from home some of that time. So according to the app my driving is excellent but I’m not being rewarded much for it anymore. At 2% I’m saving $17 over six months. That’s a savings of $2.83 a month. Is that worth it for having the lack of privacy where this app knows everywhere I am going 24/7??? I have to wonder that. Not happy about this.

  • Like the program.

The program gives me a good idea of which driving skills I need to try to improve on where otherwise I wouldn’t even be aware of them. I have two suggestions for improving the program. The first is that the program generally dings you for speeding when you’re entering a highway from an on-ramp. In my opinion if Miles you enter a highway at 50 mph you’re asking for an accident. Secondly when I use a navigation app on my iPhone the program give me an almost continuous red mark for “Distraction”. Egpnze
