  • Okay

I like the app fine other than one HUGE flaw. If you drive for work there is no way to record this. So you are getting docked for having a lot of drive time when it’s not even your vehicle you are driving. They really need to fix this. The only option is remembering to turn it on and off every morning and night or marking yourself as “passenger or not a car ride” each trip. For a delivery driver that’s a lot of separate trips each day to go back and mark.

  • Getting to know my drive

Yes, I was disappointed to find out how crazy it is to drive like everyone else is driving. Trying to keep with the other drivers on the road. There’s where my speed kicked in. Hardly any traffic and what traffic was there they were speeding n I was trying to keep up. But looking at the road map it sure brings me back to reality. N the other speed is where i coasted down to my street. Not doing that anymore.😫This app really makes u aware of all ur mistakes. (My mistakes)😊

  • How accurate is this app?

On some of the maps, it shows a starting point that doesn’t correlate where I am and some show an end that isn’t where my destination is, i.e., my home. Also, what does “acceleration” mean? It shows up where you accelerate entering a freeway or other intersection where you need to enter traffic safely.

  • Inaccurate 0 STARS

You have this app rating at 4.5 with 734 ratings. I stopped counting at 101-1 star ratings because every other rating would need to be 5 stars for this app to be rounded up to 4.5. A very quick look let’s you know that there are far more 1 star ratings than there are 5 star and several 2 or 3 star ratings. This app is probably closer to 2.5 out of 5. Don’t be fooled. It’s awful!

Two people in the same vehicle will have different concerns with acceleration and braking. The acceleration requirement for the app is dangerously slow and when you hit the freeway after several seconds the cars behind you do extremely dangerous maneuvers to get around you. I would suggest the 5 mph per second begin at 15 miles per hour to prevent that ridiculously slow start. I have also had an occupant in my vehicle with the cruise control set at the speed limit and my KYD said I had high speed and the passenger did not. There is an accuracy problem. You’ll still get a discount but it won’t be the amount you probably should get. I can’t believe others haven’t shared this side by side comparison challenge in the past. It actually frustrates me as a driver and a customer. I wonder if another company has a more accurate app. It might be worth looking into.

I’ve read a great deal about algorithms in your responses. What do your algorithms say about the next generation being customers when every conversation I’m having with my son starts with “I hate this app!” ?

  • Safer driving habits

I like the app. has good information on distraction driving and is easy to understand. Shows how you compare to other drivers and helps me drive safer because I am more aware of my driving habits. It works much better with a newer iPhone. Only downfall and reason for the 4 stars is having location services always on as it drains my battery much quicker. Would be great if there was a way to activate location services when my phone connects to my vehicle.

  • Agent gave me good advice

My agent explained that I should set this up and let it do it’s thing. Yes, I break hard and accelerate fast once in a while. I’m not a perfect driver, but after 6 months I found that I received a 15% discount. I’m glad I didn’t get discouraged and didn’t log in every time I drove. I have found that I’m not looking at my phone as much when driving.... if it is because of this app, than thank you for making me a safer driver American Family. American Family, will I always get a discount if I continue using application?

  • Inaccurate

This app is ok but it just digs you for hard brakes just to do it. A few times I wasn’t even braking. I was just letting my car slow down naturally or I would make sure that I wasn’t letting it slow down 5 miles in a second and it still gave me hard brakes on my drives. And if you are coming to a complete stop sometimes it will go slow down more than 5 miles a second. That needs to be re examined. Also dings for high speed with the description says over 80 and I do not go 80 miles per hour. I don’t speed at all

  • Awesome App!

I’ve had this with AmFam for a few years. Love the design of the new app. I always thought I was a pretty good driver. I quickly realized I love stopping quickly and slamming on the gas when I start driving. Since using the app, I’ve slowed down on the expressway (I just put cruise control on and coast), I’ve moved my driver seat back to make sure I wasn’t so close to the gas and brake (used to sit pretty far up), and I’ve significantly cut down on using my phone while driving (I set music, podcasts, and navigation up before I leave my garage). It’s been great for gas milage, better on my brakes, AND I GET A DISCOUNT JUST FOR USING IT! It’s super easy to just check in once a week and see how I’ve been doing. The new design recently released is easy to navigate and I love the tips they give in-app. Overall, it’s been great to help me drive safer and save some money.
