  • The definitive music app for Plex

I had almost dispaired of finding a decent music player for my Plex library. The official Plex apps have weird UI and are buggy, with exceedingly poor support for offline playback.

This app is amazing. UI-wise, it doesn't try to reinvent the wheel. It's very similar to the iOS music app but without the constant Apple Music spam. It's clean and easy to use and largely follows iOS UI conventions. It also has excellent support for offline playback. I was able to download my entire Plex music library (23 gigs) in about 15 minutes. I've been trying to do this for 3 days with the official Plex app and it still hasn't finished.

  • Fantastic

This is a fantastic app and well worth the price. I try to send a tip every few months as well.

I find this better and simpler than Plexamp, and like it much better.

Great job!! I will keep using this for the foreseeable future.
  • Now even better CarPlay after iOS15

After ironing out a few bugs this is even more usable in CarPlay than it used to be as there is now the ability to quick choose an alphabetical list under the artist category. This is a must have for CarPlay and Plex users
  • Yummy

After testing a number of other player apps I settled on Prism because it does what I want, is friendly, is capable.
Primarily I wanted a player for a Plex server. Prism works great for that.
It is equally adept at playing locally stored material too.
There may be other good choices out there as well but Prism is definitely a good choice.

  • When Dre & Iovine destroyed the spirit of the ipod

What a fantastic replacement for the worst music player on iOS history. This application picks up the music app right before Dre & Iovine threw it in mud and defecated all over it. The app returned the easy to navigate simple interface of the past. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to good software.

  • Needs integration with shortcuts and scripting

It’s a good app that would really benefit from integration with apps under shortcuts so you can start the app and pick up where you left off when Apple car play starts as an example.

It would also be nice to have “library radio” and artist radio etc like PlexAmp. I’d be willing to pay for this added functionality.

  • Better than the Plex app for music (updated)

I only use Plex to stream my music library but their app is not that great. I only need this app to add Chromecast support (dev, please I beg you even as an experimental feature ) & the ability to create playlists from filters. Not sure if later is already possible but it’s not easily found. Thanks for a great app.

Update: Would love to see more icons/accent colors added & better music discovery for larger libraries (Plex’s radio features, similar artists etc). Lastly I would appreciate Jellyfin support as the native Jellyfin app is not ready for prime time.

  • My go to player for my plex server hi res music

I couldn’t get Plexamp to play my hi res files at the proper bitrate through my hip dac, even the local ones.. Downloaded this little gem and Whappo! Hi res files play correctly. Bye bye Plexamp. Having one issue with inability to play one of my albums but I have to see if it’s an encoding issue that this app doesn’t support. Other than that it’s all good!

  • Great music player

Wish some of the gestures between screens were better and more fluid, but overall would recommend!
  • Apple Music Issues

Great Plex player, and support for “download all” is impeccable. Interface and usability is 5/5. If you manage your music with Plex, this is the app to use.

lost stars: Switched to Apple Music as the music source in iOS 14 as a test, app crashes immediately on launch with no hope of recovery now. Deleting and redownloading the app and resycning 100GB of music for hours and hours isn’t exactly my ideal. Watch your step!
