  • Much better than plex app for music

This is worth the purchase for CarPlay functionality alone. Well made app that offers some good functionality. I had some issues filtering my specific files the way I wanted but I think that may have been more to do with my odd requirements and not a shortcoming of the app necessarily.
  • Really excellent for listening to Plex library

I originally bought this app just to be able to access my Plex music library from CarPlay, which it does pretty well. But I’ve wound up using the app all the time when all I want to do is listen to music. The Plex app tries to do too much, and it’s great to have a single app focused on accessing one type of media from your Plex library.

One thing I do wish is if it was easier to find music in the CarPlay interface. Having buttons dedicated to showing all the Artists or Albums in my library is not useful since it’s just a massive list I have to scroll through. I guess I could get to the album I want to listen to eventually, but I’ll probably get in a car accident while scrolling through the list!

  • 2.0 Huge Improvements!

I’ve been using this app off and on for about a year. Being the only CarPlay compatible Plex Music player, I was excited when I first heard about it. However I had a lot of little issues with it. Then new tabbed interface is much easier to use. The developer has listened to a lot of critiques over the last year and has addressed just about every one. iOS 13 support with Dark Mode is the icing on the cake!

  • Made me love using Plex for Music

I have all my media in Plex but hated using their app for music. I recently found Prism and it changed my whole perspective. It's an elegant app dedicated to just music. As a result I forgrt that it is even using Plex behind the scenes (that's a good thing!). Has everything you'd expect from a good music player. It's smart enough to know if you're on your local network or remote. Downloads are handled seamlessly. I may finally now be able to cancel iTunes Match!

  • Well worth the IAP

I love having my Plex library right at my fingertips. Prism does a great job of streaming and caching music. It’s well worth the price of the IAP if you’re on the fence about it and you want to have easy access to the music on your Plex server.
  • Godsend!

I’ve waited years for the official Plex app to support CarPlay to no avail. I saw Prism mentioned in the Plex support forum and have been very impressed with it. With each release, the functionality and performance continue to improve. Keep up the great work!
  • Good but needs work...

There’s no playlists, and it just feels off from a music service.. I don’t know what the filter thing is but it’s awkward. There’s a lot missing but this is a greatly appreciated app free and works great for listening to music online and offline!
  • Fantastic light weight music player!

I have plex to serve all the music and movies I have accrued over the years and love listening to my music anywhere I go. My only “gripe” is that the official plex app is pretty beefy for just playing music.

This is where prism shines! I can quickly load up prism and get going with my playlists quickly and easily. Also, it runs smoother than plex on my older devices when I want an ad hoc music player!

  • Awesome for Plex with CarPlay support

I found out about Prism on a Plex forum and thought It seemed interesting... I love Prism now! Its a great music interface by itself but with Plex and CarPlay support its next level. Highly recommended... it has a free trial period to enable all features so definitely give it a try.
  • Nearly perfect!

Only problems are with a few UI placements.. why is the “delete all” button so easily accessible? It’s on nearly every page.. you’d think it should be a tad harder to find to avoid accidental presses. Album art doesn’t display on downloaded music unless you have an active connection to the server.

Also the track numbers cover up the album art in alphabetical view. Would be nice to have an option to hide those. Otherwise perfect app!
