  • International banking and flexibility

    HSBC US is by far the best US bank I have dealt with for online and remote transaction. I travel constantly internationally. Exchange rates for foreign transaction are excellent, atm rebates are credited, my debit card is always accepted and US bank to bank transactions are simple usually with no fees.

  • Depositing a check is painful

    Using the camera to take a photo of the check is terrible, it took me just over half an hour to accomplish this, I tried my iPad and iPhone alternately until it worked. I’d done nothing differently between each device and nothing that I’ve done before many times but it kept telling me to ‘hold still’ although I was resting against a firm object. Way too sensitive. Hate using it.

  • Unable to Make Payments!

    The app is glitchy and doesn’t allow me to pay my credit card bill. When I click “Manage Card,” to get to the payment page I only get a blank white screen. Looking at the other recent reviews, I can see that a lot of other users have this problem also.

    This issue has persisted for 2+ months now. Every month, I keep updating this app to the newest version for the “bug fixes” they promise but this problem never gets fixed! This is extremely frustrating as the purpose of having a mobile banking app is for the convenience of being able to manage and pay my credit card on my phone instead of having to open up my computer.

    I’ve already tried to chat with Customer support on the app but they’re not helpful and take hours to respond to my message. Please look into this problem and fix it. This is such a critical element of the app!!!!

  • Check Deposit Locks All Accounts

    As a victim of the recent Citizens Bank sell off, we had to reestablish our Premier account. Went to deposit checks via the app, it immediately suspended our online access. Next, there was a fraud hold put on our accounts for a DEPOSIT. Then, HSBC said that one check deposit (to savings) was refused and therefore they locked all of our accounts on a fraud hold (our other bank said that it had not even been submitted).
    Next day, all checks cleared and showed available funds in the account (even extra electronic deposits) - account still on a fraud hold FOR A DEPOSIT from this specific deposit on the mobile app.
    TODAY, no one can explain why our accounts are on a fraud hold for MOBILE APP DEPOSITS that are uncontested. Clearly, IT IS THE APP because that is the only thing they can reference too.
    Advice for HSBC, fix the app and rethink about locking accounts on a deposit. Basically, every other bank just withholds the funds from being available.

  • Hsbc great bank

    unfortunately after banking with Hsbc for many many years they have decided to change to Citizen’s bank. After receiving all the literature and debit cards with instructions I am not impressed. I have attempted on 2 separate dates to speak with someone to no avail since I can’t wait on hold for a half hour . Trying to active the cards with no success. I guess it’s time to move on and change to a bank that wants my business.

  • Bugs remain despite raising with customer services

    Having raised this issue more than 5 times over the last year, developers still haven’t fixed bugs in the app transaction view for credit cards. The app currently misses several random periods of activity (looking at it today the entire period from December 9- December 23 is missing). This is a basic requirement for a banking app and fixing the issue should be prioritised. Please look into this. Thank you.

  • Likely the worst possible bank and app in the world.

    Absolutely horrible experience every step of the way.
  • Not as good as the previous version

    I have been using this version of the app for a while now and although you can still pay your bills and move money, I find this version very light in comparison of the previous one. I hope HSBC will rethink this and give us back the full blown version we used to have: there were a lot more features in the older version. Thank you for your consideration.

    Please fix your UI and make the experience more user friendly. Enable Face ID. And please make transfers easier.
