Avoid their products like the Plague !!!!!
Purchased Two MeatSticks (should have named them S _ _tSticks for over $380.00 AU) both didn’t work from day go .Returned for WTY replacements one was replaced other came back the same as it was returned.
AVOID THESE PRODUCTS LIKE THE A PANDEMIC

Constantly Dropping Connectivity
I purchased multiple Meatsticks as well as a bridge. They have been nothing but a headache. Connectivity from the bridge constantly drops regardless of the distance from a WiFi AP and/or the grill. The sticks themselves have been good for a single low smoke a piece; they have warranty replaced my two original sticks and the replacements broke after a single use each. Support has been mind numbingly slow and useless, they simply repeat steps already present in the tutorials and are unable to provide any real support. All in a complete waste of money. When it works
I was thinking this was great buy until it stopped connecting to the app. I used it twice replacing the batteries and charging the stick the night before. It was great. Then it stopped connecting. I contacted support an was not happy with that either. They only have email no live help. They responded as if it was my fault. I will be buying a different one.Show lesslepperkon

Requires Always On Precise Location
When the thermometer is connecting and functioning correctly the data is nice to have. But the excuses about the invasive permissions are disappointing. Be prepared to read some scripted responses regarding a lack of a creative fix blaming the iOS ecosystem. Update after update many of us disappointed customers see the same settings required while we wish it would work differently. Why not petition a dev support manager or somebody to help sort it out? Honestly if I wasn’t already invested I’d have gone a different route with monitoring my cook temps.
The updates to the app may bury some reviews but there are lots of reviews over the months stating the same core complaint.Show lessDahzee
Avoid at all cost!
Purchase a Meater and save yourself some money! My wife bought this on a Black Friday sale as a Christmas gift. Of course I opened it for Christmas and then used it for the first time this past wknd. Well, both temps are off by over 10 degrees. I could live with that but the bigger issue is the connectivity. She bought the range extender kit which clearly states it has to be plugged in within 6’ of a closed cook. Setting on the back of my smoker the thing couldn’t stay connected to save its own life! Meat Stick says it’s not their problem and we’re past the return date! Crap product with crap customer service!!Show lessAmNightmare1
Good hardware, app needs work
Great temp probes with good range. Slightly bewildering array of extenders, chargers and bridges. Make sure you know what you’re buying.
The app is chaotic. There is no search function so rather than being able to look up ‘beef’ and see a range of cooking methods for beef, you have to go through a tedious process of cook-method to type of meat to types of cooks. And not all cuts are represented under each cook method (and may be different for different types of MeatStick) so you can find yourself hunting back and forth through the menu trees to find what you want. For simplicity, the Meater app has got this app well beat.
The app will also relentlessly ask you to change location permissions to ‘always allow’. While it does need this to be able to send notifications even when the app does not have focus, MeatStick needs to learn that we live in age of ‘No means no’. Doesn’t work when you need it. Plan ahead..
For the fist 4 cooks, this was wonderful. Since then, the app is buggy. Seems like when you need to use it, there is a vital update that needs to be done before you can use it. Plan an additional 15-20 minutes before you start you cook just for your thermometer needs. After the 4th cook connection to the phone/app seems a challenge if at all. I’ll reserve this stick/app for inexpensive meats as I would be upset if I planned a good cook based upon the success of this unit.Show lessJohnny Appleseed...
Constant connection issues and slow to get temp.
The app is constantly losing connection to the extender. Almost every time I true and use the thermometer it takes about 5 minutes to even show a temperature. If you accidentally end the cook it takes just as long for the app to find the thermometer again to continue. I got my folks the Meater andyhr all seems to be a lot less buggy.

Why does location services need to be on?
Absolutely no need for this and I refuse to accept it. No other bluetooth or wifi device I own needs location services, thats not how bluetooth works…you pair a device and off you go. This is blatant personal data grabbing.BD au
