  • Everything comes out just right.

I mainly got this for the rotisserie, but I use it every time I’m cooking meats. Helps me serve things done just right, without wires trailing off to get tangled up. Especially on the rotisserie.
  • Very disappointed in the durability of the original meat stick

I was one of the first to own the original meat stick and I got the wifi bridge back age with two meat sticks. They both stopped working about a month after the warranty expired and when I reached out to the company I never got a response. I can’t imagine I would have gotten a response even if I was within the warranty period. Both meat sticks look fine and charge good but won’t connect. It’s very frustrating especially for how expensive they are.

  • Meat Stick doesn’t work

I had difficulty making my meat stick work consistently from day 1. It did connect and work once for complete cook and a second time for part of the cook, now it won’t connect at all. I blamed my smart phone since it showed 100% charge, however, I have replaced my phone, gone through proper procedures and troubleshooting, and it can not be found and will not connect to the app. Very disappointed.

  • MeatStick will not connect

This is the second MeatStick I have purchased. The first one worked once and then would not connect. Your service department told me I had damaged it by exceeding 500 degrees. I do not recall ever going anywhere near that temperature but purchased a replacement stick. The replacement stick will not connect either. The charger has fresh batteries, the stick has been charging over 24 hours, the top is shiny clean, and I have followed all trouble shooting instructions.

    I. Ever cook anything that goes above 350 degrees so exceeding 500 degrees can not be the problem. The MeatStick is a good product when it works but when your meat is ready to go on the cooker, it is to late to be troubleshooting and trying to get it to work.

Hi there, have you tried to contact our support team yet? We have so many backers have zero issue with their products, and we want you to have the same experience too. Please reach out to support@themeatstick.com and our support team experts will help to look into it. We understand location permissions in a concern, and we do not use it to track or even record your location data. Location permission is required because our app and Sticks use the Bluetooth beacon functionality that is built into the "Location permission". For some reason Apple and Android have this functionality built into the Location permission instead of the Bluetooth permissions. As such, if this permission is disabled, the app will be unable to read the temperature from The MeatStick. What we can say is Apple does not allow apps onto the App Store that misuse and mislead the use of location permissions. They required us to send them a MeatStick in order to prove just this. You can always turn off the access once you finish the cook. If you have any other questions, please let us know. You may also check out our website for more detailed explanations. Thank you!
  • Mind boggling choice not to include a battery

Just absolutely bewildering that they brought this product to market without a battery. I will always recall the moment I open the package, and stared at their directions literally telling you to both keep the bridge within 6 feet of the thermometer, but also, plugged into a power source. Just absolutely baffling that they expect the customer to supply their own power source for their product. Additionally, this falls into the Classic ill-connecting smart device bucket, where you’re virtually setting up a new connection every time you use the thing. Finally, there appears to be a roughly 15m delay in what my app is reading vs contemporaneous temperature of the meat or the cooker- easily enough time to absolutely ruin plenty of good smoked meats. Welled with regret about this purchase.

Hi there, We're sorry that you did not have a positive experience with our product. As we clearly state on our website/Amazon, batteries are not included, and the WiFi Bridge is powered by micro USB input. Our users who choose the WiFi Bridge usually do low and slow smoking, which takes a lot of hours. In this case, using a powerbank is a better choice than using batteries, which run out quickly. The 15m delay you mention does not sound normal at all. We would like to know more details. Could you please email to support@themeatstick.com so our support team can look into it? We have thousands of customers happily cooking with our products, and we hope you can have the same positive experience. Thank you very much and we look forward to hearing from you. -Mel
  • Meat Stick Problems

I’ve had my meat stick for over a year and a half and used it maybe 5 times and it worked properly without disconnecting, only once. It’s literally been sitting in a drawer and I am so fed up with how much it disconnects, even when the WiFi bridge is sitting next to the probe. The battery life is also terrible, as it goes from fully charged to dead in less than 2hrs. I’m not sure if mine is defective but it’s extremely aggravating to use.

  • Exercise in frustration

Has failed completely 3 times. I did all the cleaning and all the other suggestions. App won’t recognize the stick. Frustrating. I’m trying another product. Best to wait until they figure things out and save yourself some angst. 2 stars is for the concept and the app itself which are great ideas.

  • Mini-Sticks keep dying after a handful of uses

We’re onto our third mini-stick in less than 6 months after the first two stopped working for no reason. All instructions followed to the letter. Company will replace the sticks but you’re on the hook for shipping so if you live outside the US, you’re essentially paying about the same amount in shipping fees as the cost of a new stick. Expensive throw-away tool.

  • Mostly works

There have been a few times where the Meatstick said the chicken was done, yet it still had pink spots in the middle. Also I wish there was a way to eliminate the Wi-Fi bridge and just make it usable between the stick and my cell phone app.
