User Reviews: Ivy Pay

  • ProDependant

I have become increasingly dependent on IvyPay for all my transactions, which makes my book keeping immensely simple. I submit one Excel document to my accountant, prepared by IvyPay, at the end of the year. The simple tracking software breaks down my days, weeks, months and years in a quick one glance fashion. My notes are dictated directly into the client file when I bill them (I discovered this feature when I broke my hand last winter) and I no longer dread doing them. I do worry about my reliance on them but 3 years in they have resolved any issues I have had (there have been extremely few).
  • No Customer Support

They are great if you don’t need anything. If you have ANY problems or questions, don’t expect to be able to reach anyone or get ANY response, let alone have an issue fixed. When you’re talking about people’s money, being able to make a living and confidential PHI, not being able to address and resolve issues is a HUGE problem!

They will respond to this negative review (really, don’t bother, it’s performative), but NOT to ANY emails. You should be concerned when a business provides no customer service number to call and only has an internal online contact form on their website. They will NOT respond to this and never call you either when you select a tel call re: your request for help. This IS deliberate (and I know they ARE getting these correspondences).

They do respond to negative reviews in a public forum, but NOT to customer inquiries and needs to resolve legitimate problems with their system! They are more concerned about their image and purposefully ignore customer needs (which would actually eliminate negative reviews). It doesn’t seem like good business or make any sense, to deliberately ignore problems that appear you can solve pretty easily. But to not even respond to the inquiry at all, is just bizarre. See the reviews here and at the BBB. This seems to be their brand.

  • Great app for my practice

I’ve been using Ivy Pay for a couple of years for my private practice and depend on it for easy and quick payment. Clients also find it easy to use. I recommend it to colleagues looking for a secure and straightforward way to bill and receive payment. The option to add session notes and invoices is also such a useful feature. I especially like the ability to keep track of monthly and end of year income. I highly recommend this app.
  • So Easy and Efficient

Absolutely love the Ivy Pay app. As an individual practitioner I’m always looking for ways to streamline my processes, and Ivy Pay helps me to do just that. With a push of a button I can process payment, and like clockwork the money is deposited into my account within 2 business days. Clients manage their card info on their end, which leaves me with less responsibility, and clients report that Ivy Pay is so easy to use. With Ivy Pay’s ability to have multiple accounts under one app, I’ve been able to process and track financial data for my two separate offices. Simple, efficient, and such a Godsend!
  • Overall ok

Simple and easy to use. 2.75% fee which is not the lowest, but fairly standard. Drawback is the delays in bank deposits. For example, if you run a card Wednesday after 7pm (Central) you won’t see it until Monday. Updated features of super bills, GFEs are nice. I am especially excited about the client reminder text option. That said, the latter is a newer feature and the bugs are still getting worked out. Not a way to default to your time zone, choice of when the text is sent stopped working, and there is no way to edit it if the client changes their time—only delete and re-enter. Looking forward to that getting worked out.
  • Easy, HIPAA compliant, and affordable

IvyPay is so much easier than using a payment portal that requires a device, which then needs to be kept charged. All I need is my phone! I love that once the client inputs their credit card info, they never have to do that again. On a side note, this means that it is much easier to collect a late cancellation fee.

And now IvyPay has an appointment reminder feature, which is great. I haven’t wanted to pay a separate service for this, so I would send individual reminders. Now IvyPay takes care of that for me. It just keeps getting better.
  • The support team is second to none!!

From the very start of me using this app I have had the best support anyone could ask for. From the start I have been helped by Jules who is supportive and quick with compassionate answers to my questions. I have also had amazing patience and compassiontate support from Charlie. Whoever is doing the hiring over there has nailed it. I love working with these people and the app is fantastic. Thank you.
  • Useful app--absent customer service.

Overall the app itself is great, and provides an extremely easy and reliable payment system. They added a feature that automatically generates Good Faith Estimates, which could be extremely helpful for therapist and psychiatrists in private practice who care for clients who are not in network. However, as a psychiatrist, I also need to bill multiple CPT codes, which does not appear to be supported. Moreover, I have reached out to customer support multiple times. I received one email back that did not address my concern, after which the customer service rep simply did not respond to further emails. I've been initiated multiple requests for support, both via phone and email, none of which received any follow up. I will continue to use Ivy, because aside from the issue with generating good faith reports for psychiatrist, it is otherwise performed flawlessly. However, the lack of responsibility to request for support should perhaps give new users pause.
  • Ivy Pay is AWESOME!!!!

My colleague and I just switched to Ivy Pay from Square and we are absolutely loving it. It’s extremely user friendly and the weekly and monthly reports have just cut down my bookkeeping exponentially!!!! I pray Ivy Pay keeps going in the direction they are going because this is an outstanding way to take payments from my clients and keep track of payments! Oh! Not too mention the customer service is over the top!! Extremely easy to get help and they answer questions with kindness and promptness!!
  • Terrible customer support

I was happy with this app until I had a problem. A client took issue with a charge and instead of contacting me, they contacted their bank. Ivy Pay said they’d handle it with the bank - and just asked me to show proof that the session occurred. Now, they will not get back with me and I have no way to follow up. I’ve contacted them through the the only way you can - requesting a response through the app and it’s been over a month since they’ve contacted me. I will be switching back to Stripe. Update: I just got an email from them requesting that I change my review, or “contact the developer”. I got so excited - thinking - I can finally get ahold of them - but it’s just the same link I’ve used about 15 times to contact them, and haven’t gotten a response back in over a month.
