  • Love this App

Ivy Pay totally bypasses the awkward process of repeatedly monetizing the therapy, explaining the cost, check-writing, returned checks, creating a billing statement, mailing, waiting for payment— all the time consuming aspects therapists loathe. Once the initial setup is made with Ivy Pay’s simple prompting, payment is handled in 30 seconds and is in the bank with records almost immediately. The 2.7% overhead offsets the cost and time my bookkeeper goes through all of the above. The record-keeping is clear, secure, and professional. Never before is every client current in payment obligations. The only difficulty I had came when I entered the wrong phone number for a client. But Ivy Pay support was excellent in solving problems. Love this App.
  • Great app

I am in private practice, and have been disgusted by the fees for manual entry on Square. Also I have to hold the credit card info on file which feels questionable. I love it that all I do is submit client initials and phone number, then Ivy Pay handles everything. You can edit any changes to date, time, amount charged. I was even able to refund all previous charges at a clients request and recharge them to different card! 2.75 is reasonable, and customer service was very helpful when I emailed to get refund/recharge info.
  • Credit card processing made easy!

I’ve been using Ivy Pay for over five years and have used several other credit card processing services in years prior. IVY pay is by far the quickest, easiest and most therapist-friendly. Of all the features about it that I like, the very best part is that if I ever have a question or concern (which hardly ever happens because it works so well), the IVY support team responds immediately to resolve my concern, usually within an hour. There is no beating Ivy’s customer service. They are such a pleasure to work with, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. It’s the human element that sets this technological piece so far apart from the others. Thank you IVY team!!
  • Loving Ivy Pay!

In these times of Telehealth I was struggling to get payment from clients. I decided to give Ivy Pay a try and am very pleased so far. It took almost two weeks for the first deposit to show in my bank account but now it’s regularly depositing. I like the low service fee of 2.75%.
I do with you could edit initials or time of session or fee once sent but hopefully they’ll work on that. I also hope someday it’ll
Link to Google Calendar for ease.
I have had to contact customer service twice - once about how long it was taking for my funds to deposit, and once regarding editing- and they always emailed back within 24-hours and we’re very polite and helpful. I do with there was an 800 # to call but right now with Covid this will have to do.
So happy my colleague has convinced me to try this! I’ll be sharing with colleagues for sure.
  • I was wrong!

At first, I wanted to write a bad review for Ivy Pay.I assumed it was not possible to change the charge amount once a credit card was on file. I also assumed that it was not possible to execute a partial refund. With respect to not receiving my funds in 1 to 2 days, I was not aware that when the first charges are made, it may take several days before a deposit is made to the bank account. Finally, I allowed myself to get frustrated about “no customer service”. I requested a telephone call a few days ago, and had a very instructive conversation with Tiffany from Ivy Pay today. She answered everyone of my questions. The app contains all of the features that a therapist needs to make a charge, reverse a charge, make a partial refund, and change a charge. What I asked for was to make the instructions more clear to mitigate any confusion. I’m looking forward to moving ahead with IVY PAY.

  • App is great once it’s set up and connected to bank

A colleague recommended this app for my private counseling practice. It has been 7 months since my first charge. The first three months were incredibly challenging, as the app and app staff had significant difficulty depositing my funds and attending scheduled phone calls. I nearly stopped using this app at that time and was uncertain if I would ever access my funds. Once I began accessing funds 3 months after first use, I have enjoyed the ease of using this app for charging clients. I am hopeful that Ivy Pay has sorted out their staffing shortages and will provide positive customer feedback in future, if needed. I would hesitantly recommend using this app if you are willing to put up with the potential initial stress of connecting your bank account. - Kristen
  • Endless Possibilities

This is an excellent tool for any solo clinician. Clients have been receptive to the ease of adding their card on file, and like the text message alerts for payments. The 2.7% flat fee for any charged card is very reasonable compared to other merchant services. The only issue about the fee was that it was not listed on the IVY Pay site, so I had to contact support.

Where IVY Pay falls short. You can not access your account on a traditional website or export invoices or notes. I across my fingers that changes sooner rather then later. If you input incorrect info for a client or session there is no way edit the error, such as listing a session time incorrectly. You also can not update a clients phone number.

IVY Pay has a lot of potential, possible integration with google calendar and drive (if the clinician has a BAA Agreement with G Suite). This option could allow for some automatic billing options. Integration with QuickBooks would be beneficial for small businesses as well.

IVY Pay is ahead of the curve in the mental health field. With additional features and automatic billing options, will be the X factor in the company’s future growth.
