  • Good app if this was 2010

    This is a great banking app if it was 2010, and great bank in general except let’s see.

    - the cards they issue are thin plastic useless and aren’t even up to date with most modern cards

    - the app takes forever to load anything, the delays with loading the front screen to see your accounts or the lack of information on your manager portfolios on the app compared to the computer is ridiculous.

    - answering and reading customer support ticket issues on the app is like using AOL in 2005.

    Good bank but they really need to put actual money into the debit cards they issue, and the app, along with their horrible horrible online check cashing process they use on the app, you can’t get a clear photo if you tried and this bank without branches than has you waiting 7-14 days for your check to be cashed, oh and no Zelle or other modern money sending features either,

    Time to grow up and get with the modern world Axos and before you say it I’ll end with “thank for forwarding this up the chain to the right team to have it handled”

  • They will steal your money and let you starve

    A purchase was charged to my account multiple times. I went two weeks with nothing but a few bowls of rice with no response. then, axos contacts me calling me a liar and is closing the claim. Even though they were both initiated at the same time, apparently taking different amounts of time processing makes it not a duplicate, even though the charge is exactly the same. they did zero research into the claim at all and just tried to screw me out of all of my money. Luckily for me, the company reached back out and offered a refund on the duplicate charge. do not trust them at all. if you can’t afford a lawyer, you can’t afford Axos.

  • DONT USE!! Read! NO BOOST NO ZELLE!

    I have had AXOS for almost two years. In the beginning AXOS seemed fine. Recently every time I try to log in I get the message “server error” and my balance says 0. Which is very wrong. When I would call for help I would get a customer service agent within a few minutes who I could understand clearly and vice versa now the language barriers are ridiculous I don’t know where they have out sourced their CS to but it’s really horrific. They charged back 3 legitimate transfers I made and over-drafted my account. ( one of them was a refund check I deposited from another BANK a check written by a bank to me they did not honor ( they did at first then pulled the money) after they put in my account they pulled the money out 3 days later) I am having to back-peddle and put money in the account I am closing again. The reason I am closing is that they don’t work with EXPERIAN BOOST! None of the bills I have been paying for 2 years for my phone, gas, water, energy, etc are able to help my credit AT ALL!! I am so mad. I opened a new bank account an month ago with a legitimate bank that EXPERIAN recognizes and I am already boosting my credit with the bureaus. Be careful with the fintech banks they are not really banks!!! Also NO ZELLE! Which was a problem for rent payments I had to go through Venmo which took 10 days to move every month. BEWARE!!!!

  • The app needs work

    I honestly am not sure why there are so many 5 star reviews. This is far from a 5 star app experience. I am a new customer of Axos and I have to admit I am disappointed with how many bugs the app has.

    Outside of the main screen other menus (tips menu, other side menus, adding blocks to the main dashboard) don’t work well. They are too large. I can’t press the “x” because it does not fit the iPhone 13 screen correctly. They are also buggy. Pages don’t scroll well or menus don’t open so they are viewable. It’s really seems like simple fixes but it is sad they were overlooked.

  • Pros tremendously overweigh the cons

    Every transaction I’ve made, and concern has been responded in a manner that reached high above my personal expectations, and outperform the general standards of other banks.

    The only con I have is that when I transfer money from one bank to Axos, it tends to at least take one week for those funds to be available. Luckily I do try to stay on top of what bills I have taken out and am good at doing transfers two weeks in advanced rather than a more procrastinated approach.

    That being said, if you’re a person who doesn’t think 2-3 weeks ahead, then be careful because transfers do take some time.

    But if you’re someone that has proficient organizational skills, Axos won’t let you down. You can talk to someone anytime about what they have to offer, from first time home owner loans, vehicle loans, and heavy protection on your account. Very happy to be a customer of Axos bank!

  • I Miss Wisebanyan

    I signed up for Wisebanyan a long time ago and I loved the simplicity of the app, the goal based portfolios, and ease of applying different investment strategies. The new app is a cluge, adding and editing portfolios seems to barely work if at all, there’s a new management fee, and now instead of the sleek simple look my eyes are accosted by what appears to be a big banking app with ugly ads. Wisebanyan made investing simple and fun, using this app is like taking 5 steps backward to e-trade of the early 2000s.

    It just never worked well after Axos took over, it implied all the cool roboinvesting tools like formulas I had used in Wisebanyan were still available to me in the new app, but all the buttons would do is take me to the old Wisebanyan website and throw an error. After trying to live with it for a year or so I finally rolled over my accounts to Betterment to get the kind of service I loved in the first place. However, even that process was clunky and I had to constantly reach out to support to get my money out of my accounts, usually weeks after I made the request thru the app I would reach out and someone would get back to me “apologizing for the inconvenience” and then doing what the app should have done automatically.

    In summary, Robomanaged investment accounts thru this app are completely broken, look elsewhere!

  • Infuriating

    This app is astonishingly awful. I wonder if the developers have ever actually used it. First off, it is brutally slow and unresponsive. Second, the check deposit function flat out doesn't work. Go ahead, try it. I'll wait. I gave up after about 20 attempts with every variation of perfect studio lighting, contrasting backgrounds and orientation of the check. It never recognized the check and kept giving errors. Third, trying to activate a debit card was an exercise in frustration. I kept getting an unhelpful, generic failure error and eventually had to contact customer service to have my card activated. Fourth, why oh why does the app keep interrupting you in the middle of check uploading to remind you to upload your signature document? Each time it interrupts the deposit workflow, you have to start all over again. This is a laughable disgrace of an app in 2022. Go look at the BoA app as an example of how to do it right.

  • App Is Alright

    The app itself is okay but there are a few issues with the bank itself that are deal breakers. I had a fraudulent and it’s been a nightmare trying to get this resolved. It’s been almost 2 weeks now and I had to make multiple phone calls to follow up because they never did what they said they would do. They also modified a bill pay check date without telling me.

    As far as the app, I tried setting up notifications for transactions immediately when my card is swiped, but their notifications are for when the transactions post which can be days later. I also couldn’t get the transaction categories the way I wanted them so I gave up.

  • Good interest rates..

    Well let’s be honest.. we’re here for the interest rates, and we have to deal with the app in return. Areas that really need improvement: biometrics login has errors every time I login trying to use the app, but I can just select native biometrics to get my password, load time is loooong (I sit on skeleton after login), and top back buttons don’t work in multiple areas. I haven’t explored too much more because it’s not my main banking app.

    I’m really hoping they can focus on correcting bugs. It looks stylish enough but underneath it seems to have a lot of issues. I’m holding out for a bit to see if they can get some of it sorted out.

  • Second review to complain

    I am trying to leave Axos after a terrible experience for almost a year. I initiated an external transfer of all funds- my app said it would take 2 days and would be sent today, they even gave me the send date (02/14). After checking my account the funds were still there and had not been transferred, so I contacted support who informed me it will take 3-5 business days (from today) to transfer the money. Why would they give me a false send date if it takes 5-7 days for the transfer to be “initiated” as they said? Everything about this bank is terrible, from the app interface down to the communication. Chime is the way to go, please stay away from Axos. I have no idea how this app has almost a 5 star rating, make sure to sort reviews by “recent” to see real reviews from real people, something tells me they purchase fake reviews or use bots to boost their rating. Be wary.
