  • Avoid, use a bank with professionals

    I have a personal account, mortgage and business account with Axos. The mortgage officer ghosted us for weeks in the middle of my purchase of my first home. No call backs, nothing. Almost cost me the deal as the seller agent doubted the professionalism of Axos Bank. My business had another issue and I've been promised call backs for WEEKS by the amateur customer service agents and had to spend hours on hold chasing them down for empty promises leaving me unable to do basic banking activities for the past 5 months.

    Skip these clowns. I'll be closing my business account and have already began the process of moving my funds somewhere that I can actually have my simple needs met.

  • App needs improvement

    I LOVE Axos as a bank, but the app really needs some work. My main complaint is the page where we can freeze and unfreeze the debit card. I’ve had my card information stolen in the past with other banks, so this is a major feature for me. When I’m not actively using my card, it’s important to me I be able to shut the card off. Because I do this so frequently, I need the app to be trustworthy when it comes to this, and it isn’t. For a long time, I could unfreeze and freeze it through the app, but it was extremely slow. I’m talking around 3 minutes of the page loading, every single time, for me to click the switch to turn the card on or off, and then another few minutes for it to update to locked or unlocked. Now I can’t do it at all. It tells me it’s loading for a few minutes, then the app freezes entirely and shuts down. I now have to log into my account on my browser to use this feature. I’m thankful it works so easily and quickly through the website, but for someone like me that is constantly turning my card on and off, it kind of renders the app useless.

  • NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH MONEY

    They restricted account access without for several ACH deposits over $20k. At their request I submitted follow up docs supporting the legitimacy of the deposits even though the ACH source was clearly a legitimate source. Three days later, and many attempts by me to speak to someone and to regain access to my money they email me that they “Ended their relationship” with me. No explanation. No one ever called me back.

    I never had a single overdraft or returned item or any fraud. They agents on the phone were rude. They asked me for docs that were unreasonable for them to ask for. All the docs strengthened my case that these transactions were all extremely legitimate. Basically they are not to be trusted with your money. AVOID unless you don’t care to risk the safety of your funds.

  • Not so great for check deposits

    I really liked the ease of setup and the app itself. My biggest issue was the wait times for mobile check deposits. The company i work for still uses paper checks and not direct deposits. (We are a small family owned business). The first time i did a mobile deposit my money was not available for 7 days. I figured this was because it was a new account and after the first verified deposit it would get better. Well on the second it was another seven days and then on the third it was 8. I cant wait over a week each time i get paid to have my funds available. 7-8 days is just crazy.

    I opened an account with another bank and did my first mobile deposit yesterday. Within a few hours i had $500 available and this morning the rest was ready to go.

    Its a shame as i really wanted to stick with Axos, but i cant be waiting over a week every two weeks for my funds to become available. If you don’t need to do mobile deposits, im sure this would work out great.

  • If you aren’t with them already don’t join, keeps getting worse.

    This has been an awful experience since the forced move from the dedicated axos invest app. Core functions from the investment app have been removed. Formulas from the wallet no longer work, managing of each goal is difficult, and as of recent updates goals no longer even load to view their status, current funds, their auto deposits, or their portfolio profile. I’ve had to create my own dashboards in the app to even see my portfolios since the Home Screen for goals no longer opens.

    Why would I ever want to stick with an investment app where I can’t view my money, select how it’s managed, select when to deposit to it, perform transfers, or easily withdraw it.

    I had multiple problems trying to submit checks with Windows. After installing the AXOS bank app on my iPhone things straightened ouf fast. AXOS should kindly make a note in their deposit area that says Microsoft Windows is incompatible with their check depositing software and that the iphone or ipad works best. That would of saved me 2-3 hours. Windows may be able to make deposits with an update. But it is currently unable to do it as of today.

  • Would like real-time transaction notifications, but overall good app

    Easy to transfer money and to check balances, etc. I wish it were a little easier to set up real-time notifications for transactions, but you can try to get around this by adding notifications of “>$1” in the “large withdrawal” sections, etc.; I have noticed, however, that sometimes I log into the account and see the transaction before the notification arrives. Overall, though, easy to use, with good functionality.

  • Transactions don’t show up

    I can no longer see my transactions at the very bottom of the “Goal Summary” page or on the “Transactions” page. It says “No recent transactions” on the Goal Summary page and “No Transactions meet your search criteria” on the Transactions page, when there was no criteria, I literally just clicked on the “Transactions” tab. I messaged support but they just told me to look at my statements, which I can access, but it’s not helpful if I want to look at anything recent.

    I also wish there was a “Bug reporter” or something in the app, but if this is this the best way for app support, then so be it.

  • So bad lately. Honestly just avoid.

    The app is so god awful lately.

    Recently have been looking for a different brokerage/ robo advisor to switch to.

    I could not find my account number anywhere on the app since it kept bouncing me back to the previous version “managed portfolios” so decided to check tax documents assuming my account number would be on there.

    The documents are unavailable even from previous years.

    The chat bot Evo is completely useless.

    Recently, my deposits have not been going through even though they were going through just fine previously for years.

    There was a deposit that had shown up on my bank statement through Chase but did not show up as a deposit under transactions on my end. I called Axos customer service to ask about it. The person on the phone was very nice and ensured me it had gone through, no complaints about him. The funds were withdrawn from my chase account on July 20th and it seems like I have a trade for the same amount about 20 days later.

    My most recent deposit did not go through and I doubt the next one will either.

    Honestly considering liquidating and moving the money rather than transferring the assets just to avoid the headache and get out faster.

    This was really good when it was wisebanyan. Hardly anything changed about the interface when it was “managed portfolios,” but now with this Axos redesign/migration, everything is terrible.

  • terrible app

    I’ve been banking with Axos for less than a year, mostly decided to give it a shot because of the rewards checking account. However, I’ve come to find that the app is absolutely terrible. I’ve been trying to simply view my recent transactions on my account for DAYS and the app just won’t load the page. No matter how many times I force quit and log back in the issue remains. This is one of many instances where the app does not function properly. I highly suggest choosing another bank, where simple things like app functionality probably won’t be an issue. It’s just not worth the benefit of a slightly higher interest rate.
