  • Useless - Don’t waste your time.

    I wanted some coffee in the morning and my brother was going to walk and get it and I’d pay. So I downloaded this app again(couldn’t remember why I deleted it) and I ordered for two iced coffees at $5.50 each. (The main reason I went here instead of Starbucks) Plus I had points that would save me $3. he went walking to pick them up and as he’s arriving, I get a text saying my order was declined because the restaurant didn’t acknowledge my order within 10 minutes. WHY WOULD IT BE CANCELED? So I tell him just purchase it there. Not only does he pay $3 more (my rewards) but the price in person was $6.50. The same as Starbucks large size. But this place has small sizes only. We spent way more than expected. Plus my brother had to wait an additional 12 minutes as they seemed busy. Next time we’ll just buy it in person!

    This sounds like an awful expereince. I am sorry you had to run into this. We cancel the order after 10 minutes becasue the shop failed to acknowledge the order. Your money and discounts are all refunded. Unfortunately, we have no control over the shops or barsitas handling the tool. Having to wait in line after all of that sounds awful. If you can reach out to success@joe.coffee we would love the opportunity to reach out to the coffee shop and let them know about this experience.
  • Not properly updated

    I love the idea of this app. However, there are some major issues that need to be addressed. First off, they still have cafes that have been permanently closed listed as “accepting orders” and allows you to make purchases. It’s a good thing I check on Yelp and Google maps for reviews before going somewhere because otherwise I would have lost a bit of money.
    Secondly, there’s cafes with hours that have not been updated properly on the app. For example, there’s a cafe I wanted to go on Saturday during their business hours but on the app, it said they were closed on Saturdays and therefore would not let me make a purchase. I had to find another cafe to go to. Please consider these as part of your next updates!

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE and LOVE this coffee shop! It’s literally the best coffee shop in town. I wouldn’t go anywhere else! I’ve order so many items from the menu from drinks, food, desserts, and I am never disappointed! The avocado bacon toast is my favorite, Trust me you get what you paid for they are not greedy with the bacon! They have the best customer service and I love the rewards card. After 10 stamps you earn a free drink!!

  • More flexibility using account balance & adding funds

    The app works well. I love they have ways to earn bonus points (thank you!). I wish there was more flexibility in using your account balance when it gets low. There is no way to do a partial payment using my Joe balance and credit card. I also wish there was more flexibility in adding funds using a credit card. The minimum is $25 (there is only 1 coffee shop near me that uses Joe, so I don’t want to charge that much at a time and have it hanging out there, even if the balance doesn’t expire). The minimum is $10 if you link a bank account (which I won’t do).

  • Frustrating app, nonexistent customer service

    Was forced to use this app with my favorite coffee shop. It’s super buggy and I’ve deleted and reinstalled and updated. Finally, after so many complaints, my favorite coffee shop dumped the app, yay! I sent all of my complaints including screen shots, OS and platform info - basically everything to troubleshoot the problems and never heard a peep back from the company. Nothing. Not even “sorry, we’re working on it”. So glad my favorite coffee shop picked another app to use and I don’t have to endure this headache anymore 😅

  • Joe is AMAZING!

    Joe makes it so easy to order my drinks to go from my favorite local coffee shop! It’s great if you’re in a rush or heading to work. I’d order every morning before work and when I’d stop, my drink was ready and waiting on me. Before Joe I’d wait in line to order and then again on my drink and there were some days, I just didn’t have that kind of time. Thanks to Joe though I never had to miss out on my morning coffee before work because it was barely a minute pit stop! It also makes it super easy to convince my husband to stop and grab me a coffee on his way because I just order it and all he has to do is grab it from the counter. Joe is seriously so convenient and I am so glad our local coffee shop utilizes this app. I also love that I gain points for the convenience to earn free coffee too!

  • Great idea. Okay execution.

    I love how Joe helps people to explore and connect with local coffee shops. I just wish the app were better. Notifications that “your drink is ready” always fail to come through without refreshing the app, and the app bombards you with promotional notifications without the ability to turn them off. The help section will tell you how to manage notifications, but it references a menu option that doesn’t exist. Needs some more bugs fixed I think.

  • Smooth ordering experience

    My favorite coffee shop started taking orders through this app due to COVID-19, and I have been very impressed with how fast and easy it is to use. I like that making special requests like a certain type of milk are automatically part of the process and don’t require typing. Ordering takes just seconds. I wish all the coffee shops in my town used this app.

    Updating my review - taking away a star because there’s no way to turn off marketing notifications from the app. Since the app requires you to leave on notifications so you’ll know when your order is ready, there should be a way to opt out of promotional notifications.

  • Love this app BUT..

    Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but I’m having trouble connecting with the owners through the “submit feedback” option in the app regarding issues that I’ve had and am having with this app upgrade. It’s very frustrating that I’ve only gotten an initial response via email from Nick, but after requesting further explanation, I’m all of a sudden “ghosted”. I would hope that it’s an upgrade glitch, and not due to the owners ignoring my concerns. If it is in fact due to an app glitch, it might be something you want to fix ASAP. I’ve had the app for years and only now am I having issues. Just curious, for those who have left reviews here stating the issues they’re having, is something actually done to remedy the problem?

  • Update horrible

    Let 1st say I loved this application bc of the convenience. Now since recent feb 2022 update I am unable to leave the tip I want also I can just tap reorder my fav drink like before. I have to type in modifications and take the time I didn’t have I used this application everyday and now my husband and I are no longer going to use Joe. When buying a coffee everyday we should be able to leave a 50 cent or 75 cent tip for one coffee but this app only allows for $1 every time. Fix the reorder feature and let us tip what we want like before and we will be back. I know many happy customers are no longer going to use Joe like myself.
