  • UPDATE: Most major flaws in recent update have been corrected

There were some major flaws with the most recent update that have now been addressed:

    1) Previously earned reward points were taken away - RESTORED
    2) The ability to customize tips was taken away - RESTORED
    3) The ability to include vehicle descriptions for curbside orders was taken away - RESTORED
    4) The ability to reorder previous purchases - NOT YET RESTORED

Importantly, this app company needs to work on its communication with its clients and customer base, thus I’m only giving it 3 stars. The update was rolled out as a complete surprise (a very bad surprise), and there was no communication about what features were being added and what features would be taken away (even if temporary). But the biggest issue is that the reward point system is a huge black box. The company won’t specify and publish what counts towards points and what doesn’t (e.g. do taxes count? What about tip?). Through multiple attempts to provide feedback through the feedback link in the app, I was finally able to learn that spending $65 should earn 1,000 points, but they still didn’t say which dollars spent would count.

  • Great concept; questionable “improvements”

I love the concept of easily discovering and supporting local coffee shops, and ordering ahead is such a handy feature. My only issue is with the latest version release—it took away the “order again” functionality which is such a pain for someone like myself who always orders the same custom drink. Now each time I have to scroll through the menu, find my preferred drink, update the size and milk alternative, add my usual “special” notes and then finally checkout. Please bring back the “order again” option!

  • Previously great app is now GARBAGE

Devs what happened? Is this just a cash grab? The app worked so well for so long. Then it became super buggy. I kept using it when it struggled to work but it was annoying to do so.

You texted me (mass text) yesterday saying sorry the app has sucked and an update was released. I rejoiced and updated immediately, and went to use it today.

Garbage. Now it works even less. It gets stuck on the main page when opening it, and then freezes. I can’t access any of the other menus, nor the money that’s on the account. I’m willing to give the app a chance but you guys need to actually FIX it. Go back to the first iteration, that one worked so well.

  • Love this

I really enjoy this app, and the customer service/help when there is a glitch or problem is amazing. They are very attentive and helpful. I have been using this app for a couple years now and have little to no complaints. It is a great way to support our local coffee shops! I am still adjusting to the newest upgrade 3.0, but I am hopeful it will continue to be great!

  • Removed Feature?

I love the Joe app. I use it nearly every day. I know it was recently updated and since then it has been slightly clunky at times. I realize you’ve updated it again and it looks great. With that being said, why did you remove the ability to instantly reorder something you’ve previously ordered? That was one of the best features of the app. It made placing your typical daily order so fast. Now instead of placing an order in a single push, you will need to navigate the coffee shops menu and place it from scratch each time. Please bring back this feature. Just my opinion.

  • Get It

Overall, great app. Awesome to support local with the convenience of an app, still earn rewards, and discover new shops. Unfortunately, not every shop is on here (that’s a given), but there’s still a substantial number to make downloading this worth your while. Only complaint is that sometimes the app doesn’t work the best. I’ve had some glitches where I couldn’t go back into my cart, or the app would just load forever. But those are relatively minor (and I’m sure the devs are constantly working on fixing it) and, as I said, it’s a great feeling to support local (and get better coffee) than just big chains.

  • Great App to Support Local Coffee Shops

The Joe app has allowed me to order remotely at my local coffee shop. I can order all the drink specifications my wife and I like, as well as pastries, etc. I’m able to leave a tip, just like I would if I’d ordered in person. The app even tells me right when it’s ready for pickup, so I don’t have to spend even one minute extra in the shop if I don’t want to.

  • Why you should download this app:

It works just like your Starbucks or Pete’s coffee cards except it works with those independent coffee houses that you wish you had a card for! I am sitting outside the GOVERNOR’s CUP in Salem Oregon, where I use my Joe’s card almost every day. I order ahead, pay on the app, and my coffee is waiting for me, perfect every time. The app uses my choice of picture,, so they know it’s me when I walk in and nobody else grabs my Joe. The main thing is this, if your favorite coffee shop doesn’t use Joe, tell them to sign up as a vendor and you and they will be happy that you and did.

  • Stop the notifications

Please please please stop sending me notifications. I have attempted to use the settings to disable notifications. It’s been over a month since I change this setting but I still keep getting notifications. I have tried to submit feedback about the issue and it’s still happening. I wasn’t going to write a review because I want to support local coffee shops. I think this app can help them with a consumer base who has become accustomed to ordering ahead or ordering on an app for everything. But today was the day the app went overboard when they sent me a text message. I have never signed up for receiving text messages from this company nor do I want to. Be aware of whatever information you give this company because apparently it doesn’t matter how much they intrude on their customers. Please stop all the annoying notifications I do not want to receive.

  • Great Stuff

“Easy to use, efficient, great idea, good job, big fans” - my girlfriend made me write this for her as she drives. I’m happy to do it too, I agree with what she says and I’m just happy to do it because she chose to be safe and have me type it rather than be on her phone while driving. Anyway, we’re going to pick up some smoothies now and we can’t wait. We have so much fun and this app makes it easier to have so much fun. I hope you have the best day.
