  • App No Longer works

I LOVE DOmestika, but their app no longer works for me. I have a 5th generations IPad PRO 12.9, with the latest IOS update, but this app has been glitchy for the past 6 months. SO Gltichy, NONE of my classes show up - only my “lists.” I’m an avid user, buy both the monthly subscription and buy packs. I have purchased over 100 classes! Downloading the classes has always been a pain. No, It’s not even an option - the app doesn’t allow me to download anything. In the past, when I downloaded, it was a hassle: I can’t just click a button to download all the classes in a course, you have to click each individual class. If there is a choice of languages, I have to also click on the language I want, FOR EACH CLASS, rather than just once for the entire course. If I log out of app, all my downloaded classes are deleted off my device, even though my account is active. Supposedly when you purchase the class, you have lifetime access to that class - so then why does it delete itself when you log out? Even if I don’t log out, when my iPad gets a new update, I’m automatically logged out, so then, all my classes are deleted, again. This app has made it so difficult to use the the service.

  • I feel like a kid, again..

I feel like a kid, again. So many courses, that remind you of your childhood. When you find yourself dreaming about the person you might be: from being a famous painter like Van Gogh, to that glue-behind the scenes in the art props department, to writing that novel that changes lives —not just your own. All I missing is skateboard, my posters of Harrison Ford and some guy from one of those teen magazines, and 80’s pop -purple eyeliner. And, when you think it’s all over, then you throw in the newest software that you thought there was no-way you could make a business out of it, and suddenly that dream that seemed like it already past, is now just day or two away, like the morning sun—you never know what you going to learn about yourself with Domestika. I feel like I’m a new person, and I don’t want to get off the rocket that seems to be beyond all that I know in this universe, this world, …All you have to his push play (aka PLUS) and that theme song that transfers you into another you is just a PLUS away / galaxy away. Hit the play button Sir Elton John. You just never know, what soundtrack might pop up on Domestika station—Cue the music Mr. Elton John. I’m ready to rocket out of here. (Rocket Man / —-Grrl…..)

  • Bad experience with iPad and offline access

The content is great, but the experience on the app is not as good as it could be. This is for two main reasons:
    1) disappearing videos - Several times I’ve had downloaded video content delete itself, sometimes while I am away from WiFi which is very annoying as it means I cannot access content which I had previously downloaded onto my device. This is especially annoying as the videos can only be downloaded at high quality which takes a long time.
    2) missing functionality and content.
While watching / working through a course on my iPad there are buttons in the UI that simply don’t work (for example the “mark unit as finished” button). There’s even actual *content* that is inaccessible, even though it is available via the browser (eg the “additional resources” under each unit) which means it’s not possible to access reference images or other materials essential for the course.
All in all, it’s a good app if you want to watch videos but not for anything else.

  • I like the idea of the app and have learned a lot

But it’s getting flooded with classes that overlap bf is starting to feel like a money grab. That’s ok, but I wish the app had better tools to let you filter out similar classes from ones you already own so you’re not paying for classes that are very similar to one another.

My biggest gripe about the app is I wish it would let you continue where you left off and sort classes you’ve finished from classes you haven’t. Once you buy more than a dozen classes, it gets annoying to scroll things you’ve already watched to get to ones you haven’t, and as the classes can have similar sounding titles it can get tough to remember what you’ve watched and what you haven’t.

  • Incredible quality of instruction

So far I’ve taken 3 Domestika art courses and I’m so impressed with the quality of the information I’m getting! Everything is recorded and structured really well! I do struggle a bit with having to read subtitles as my courses were in Spanish but it’s just a minor inconvenience:) I highly highly recommend Domestika for high quality courses by incredible instructors.
    Thank you!

  • I love Domestika!

There are so many videos and things to learn and I have enjoyed everyone single one I have watched. Even if it’s something I’m already familiar with, I usually pick up a new trick or two. Most of the speakers are great, some struggle with their presentation time and can be a tad slow for me, but I’m sure that’s great for some other folks out there. I do with they had an English dub for everything. I find it hard to read subtitles while trying to learn how to do something and follow along. But it seems like Domestika is working on doing English dubs for most of their videos eventually as every time I look there’s more and more with dubbing. I have a monthly subscription and it’s totally worth it!

  • Endless hours of fun & learning

Domestika courses saved me during the pandemic, and I still do them — I’m addicted! It has become a huge part of my self care and improved mental health. I have become seriously good at several new skills just by taking these courses. I especially enjoyed learning watercolour, which I avoided for years because I was really daunted by it, but now it’s one of my favourite ways to express myself. I love the structure of the courses and instructors I have had are all top notch. It’s also really affordable. I highly recommend Domestika.

  • Good selection of courses

Domestika is my go to place for art courses. They have a good selection and they’re professionally shot, so the audio is always spot on and you can see what the artist is doing. The craft courses have also been excellent and they have a wide selection. All the courses follow the same format, so you can skip the intro and influences and go straight to the course itself if you want. Techniques are explained in full. Subtitles are always provided if needed and are accurate. It’s a great resource for information or just for inspiration.

  • Game and life changer

I absolutely LOVE this platform! Added bonus, aside from enhancing and improving on my creative skills, is that I’m beginning to learn Spanish the more courses I do! Muchos appreciados!
  • Can’t access the courses I paid for without Plus

The app is no use to me if I am unable to access my any of my accounts without having Plus. I have purchased a number of courses that I would like to access on my devices via the app. Forcing customers to get Plus does not help customers who may want to use the app then eventually transfer to Plus, after having a chance to use the app. In addition, their may be individuals who can afford to buy a class, but cannot afford the Plus, so they are at a disadvantage. I get Plus makes money, but you have consumers of all income ranges that use apps and buy your product who would like the convenience of accessing the content on their devices.
