Great Help for Parents
We have had this router for about nine months. I love that I can adjust settings based on the ages of my children and what their needs are. I also like that it applies the same restrictions to any kids using Wi-Fi at our home. At a time when few if any tech companies care about what’s happening to our kids with the internet and social media, it makes me extremely grateful for resources like Gryphon. We need all the help we can get to try and keep our homes a safe place.Show lessadfan76
Best Mesh
This is the best mesh system I have used. It does not have every feature if you are interested in VLANs and all that separation and control. As a family single home router/mesh it is amazing. You can set bedtimes you can pause internet remotely. You can expel devices. There’s so much you can do with it. Mine have never failed, and the coverage is great. In the winter months when there is no vegetation on the trees I actually can get a weak single of my internet 1/4 mile down the road. I do live in the country though.Show lessDemondawg1
Great home router
I have had a lot of routers in my internet life span. I have used all kinds of parental controls, some cost some free. Gryphon has placed everything I need in one place in a simple to use interface. Parental controls are easy to use and setup. Groupings are great to limit access to some and none to others. It is intuitive and has great throughput. Buggy app. Router is great... when it works.

I love the router when it's working, but relying on the app for the router to work is a terrible idea that continues to plague an otherwise great product. The app is very buggy, and since this is an integrated system, the entirety of the router's functionality is only as solid as the app, which makes it very unstable. I feel bad that I've recommended the router to so many friends; As long as there's a reliance on a broken app for the router to connect and route the internet, I'm unable to recommend the product anymore.Show lessJoshua Du Chene
Good but could be better
The Gryphon app provides a lot of useful information and control, but some functions aren’t necessarily as intuitive as I’d like. Telling me the MAC address of “something” it’s detected and then leaving me to search for where and what it is isn’t particularly helpful.
When designating the location of mesh routers, there’s a fixed list of pre-named locations, such as “basement”, but no option to add a specific name, like “laundry room” or “storage room”: just the option of “other”. This made a troubleshooting conversation with Gryphon support a bit awkward. Then there was the issue of having to set up multiple “users” groups to work around a software bug that was blocking internet access.

Excellent experience
Just set up our Gryphon router and mesh repeater. Installation was extremely easy moving from a Linksys EA8500 router and extender. Devices appear right away in the app and I can then assign them to user profiles or keep them unmanaged. Love the UI of the app and it easily lets me see what is going on and how to manage it. Changes on the network and in the app are pretty quick, with just a few seconds of delay and the signals propagate throughout. Only hiccup we had was the firmware updated upon initial installation to version 2. Later learned that there was a version 4 which I applied from within the app without issue. In other words, the first update did not bring Gryphon up to the latest firmware, but you can schedule automatic firmware updates within the app too. Best app with amazing features
I am using this router and the app for more than 3 months and must admit, one of the best parental control tools I have ever used or heard of. There are more room to improve but what it comes with is best in the market today.
Highlights: Screen time management to set daily limit for screen time (with rewards), weekly plan with flexible bedtime, and homework time. A suspend button to stop Internet for all, for a user or even to block a device.
Content filtering starts with default settings based on age profile of the user but can be customized by the parents; you can block or unblock any site that you think (in) appropriate.
App control for most of the popular apps makes it easy for parents along with browsing history gives full visibility what a child is visiting online.
Lowlights: I would love to see some additional features like ability to set a time limit for games and apps. The ability to see how much time is spent on each site could be helpful.

Long time user, recently getting disappointed
I’ve used the gryphon router for a few years. One base and one repeater. Worked good for the most part but still would get some slower spots around the house. Now with everyone working from home, I decided to add a guardian to the network to reach those slower spots. To add this to my network I had to update the app. I really regret doing that and I regret getting the guardian. Nothing but constant struggles, slow speeds, dropped connections since then. I’ve been sending logs and email support back and forth. Since we are so reliant on the internet to work from home, this device and application is no longer something I would recommend until they fix these issues. Every other day there is a problem. Just today all my repeaters stopped working for no reason. Now I’m staying up late to try to get it to work. Sent another request to support tech.Show lessSfhulagirl
Reliable and great network protection and speed
Recently purchased Gryphon router and have been really impressed with network speed, reliability and security. We have not had the issues other reviewers have noted, but only have 18 connected devices to our router. I have been impressed with the app and my ability to monitor and personalize the security settings. The app has really helped us protect our kids from inappropriate material as well and monitor their time online. Very happy with this purchase.Show lessZeke364
Grateful for Gryphon
Not perfect and honestly would give it 3 stars for some of the bugs experiencing with ap responsiveness and glitches in programming kids profiles, and issues with google classroom timing out but Gryphon support has been responsive to my emails and just released a new version. So I am giving it 4 stars. We will keep poking at it.
LOVE the suspend the internet feature. My husband would love to have a picture of his face saying ‘gotcha’ or some other message to the kids pop up when we do that...Show less♥ it!
