  • Good mesh setup, a bit overpriced.

When we moved to our new home and I needed mesh setup to connect my studio see office I compared reviews about every mesh system available. The Gryphon had the best capacity fir my sqft and rated high across the board on safety. The tower is a little awkward and the individual units feel a bit overpriced when compared to others. I had initial issues with setup as it turns out they were updating their system at the same time.

A few months in and I’m digging the setup. Does everything I need it to with security measures I don’t have to construe on the update search for.

  • Helps control my remote learners!

I purchased gryphon to improve my signal. Having school age remote learners has added a new challenge as a parent, they need devices but how can I keep close watch on 24/7, I had no idea until I got a good handle on the app. I can shut down gaming or social apps while at work in seconds. Track and make sure they are accessing school and see browsing history. Customer support has been quick to reply and very receptive to suggestions.

  • User-friendly app, great router and parental control system

It’s been easy to set up users, assign devices to people, etc. There are a handful of additional features I’d like to see, like a report of websites and videos each child accesses. Or a popup of some kind showing recently blocked sites so I could quickly unblock sites needed for distance learning. Also the screens for setting a child’s bedtime are less than intuitive and a few times I’ve accidentally changed multiple days at once. (A “grant an extra 30 minutes of screen time” button would be great.) Overall this is a far better app than we’ve used before for this purpose.

  • User friendly and lots of piece of mind

The router that you have to install and the app are very easy to initially setup. After that everything is very user friendly. The controls that you get with each device give me a lot of piece of mind especially in regards to blocking websites, setting up screen time limits and setting up bedtimes. Gryphon has recently started interfering with my kids e learning software but I was able to work around that.

  • Very configurable

I love the many ways of being able to configure the router and the fact that you can set multiple types of accounts, all with their own set of rules.
  • Good and user friendly...to a point.

I really like the Gryphon router an all of the built in features. One thing I would like to see is easier navigation. For example, when one of my kids wants me to approve a website or allow a friend on the network, I have to search for the place to add it. It would be great if, when I log in, I was provided witch a pop up or other alert that allows me to approve or decline. Also, it gives me the MAC address of devices on the network , but does not tell me anything about them. I then have to retype the MAC address into a MAC address identification tool to find out what it is. Most other routers automatically look up the MAC address and tell me what it is. At least allow me to copy the MAC address so I do not have to hand type it.

  • Best invention ever!

Gryphon has made my life so much easier. With my kids in distance learning I no longer have to stand over them or check their browsing history, which they often delete/clear. With Gryphon I get to see and control what websites they visit. All I have to do is click and Bam! They can no longer go to that website! I control their smart TV’s as well. I highly recommend Gryphon to anyone looking for parental controls.

  • I am surprised by all the low ratings!

I’ve been using Gryphon for a little over a year. I don’t know if there is a better way to do your router. Let’s face it if your router connected to the ethernet and has an admin interface, it is vulnerable! I know because my Xfinity modem has been hacked time and time again!
    Setup:
So what is the best way to stay secure? In my opinion having two routers connected, to a modem, that does not have wireless, is the best way to go. Obviously your modem can have a firewall, then you have a router in bridge mode with a different lan, or double NAT it if you want to.
Next you have Gryphon attached to your modem or router in bridge more, attached to your cable/Sat modem, going out.

    Controlling Gryphon:
what I do is get everything connected to my router first. That means l leave new device blocking off, until all are connected. You can use, static IP‘s, or DHCP, your choice.
You should probably use a password generator/manager, to put in your network name(SSID) and password.
Using something above 12 digits, in order for it to be a strong password.
I turn off SSID myself, and I use other on my iPhone/iPad in order to connect them to the said network.
Afterwords set block new devices on

    I’ll add to this later.

  • Best Protection Router On The Market

The Gryphon router beats them all! I’ve tried so many different apps and routers to try and protect my kids from bad websites and nothing comes even close to how easy and well the Gryphon router does it. Easy to setup, use, and run. So happy and so worth it too for peace of mind.
  • Good so far

Have used Gryphon Connect for 9 months and very pleased with the experience. The App gives the user excellent control of their Wi-Fi, in what to allow, the ability to block and manage various settings. Support can be easily accessed which I have always found to be first class. Pleased with my Gryphon and I am glad in my choice choosing that pathway for my router.
