What the f is going on
I have placed a firewall behind my gryphon and the router not only scans for open ports but triggers my adblocker and content filter but the problem is no device is connected to the router so the router is doing it all on its own. Don’t know if it’s because I don’t have premium but I don’t have it because the network threat detection wasn’t good.Show less8A115
Great coverage and speed
Love it, it works great and never has any issues. I have a 990sqft home and it sits in one corner and is able to be reached from the street over 100 ft away. App controls are great and being able to adjust parent controls and have guardian stopping malicious sites and links really helps. Speed is never an issue, hardwired we are able to consistently get what we pay for from the cable company 250mb/s. WiFi varies but is stable in 2.4 and 5ghz.Show lessVinylMachine
Awesome controls
Love the ability to manage my network from the App. My wife is a professor who techies from home and prior to getting a Gryphon Router her meetings would freeze and drop. Now with the Gryphon App I had her laptop as the prioritized device and no more drops or feeezes!! Ability to manage my niece’s connection and limit her time and what she. An access is great! Works well for managing teens screens
I like that I can set bedtimes and homework times, and turn these on and off easily. I like that there are different profiles and you can add devices to any of these profiles. I do think that my son knows how to bypass the filter sometimes, I’m not sure how, so I’d like to learn more about whether there’s a way to prevent or monitor that. But when the internet is off on their profile, it’s off. And sometimes that’s the only way to get them to realize that it’s time for dinner... : /Show lessemmmcm
Crucial Part of Detection/Prevention
I purchased a lot of different hardware solutions to help detect when my kids were going to sites they shouldn’t and prevent the really bad ones. This is a perfect combination of form/function. The app allows you to set homework time, suspend time, free time, and impose time limits. Also you can see where they’ve been! You can also create profiles for connected devices in your home like smart TVs so that the internet is disabled at bedtime (no more sneaking out of bed to watch TV or grab an iPad). Exactly what we needed
We have four kids and trying to keep track of how much time each child has spent online playing video games, etc. is next to impossible. The gryphon allows me to set time limits in advance and kicks them off when that time is reached. It also gives me the capabilities to add more reward time if I want or need to. It is sooo nice!! I like that gryphons security keeps my kids from viewing bad websites. I only wish I could somehow allow my child to use their phone to call and text when their time limit runs out. There may be a way, but I am not sure how to yet. I highly recommend this router though.Show lessesljr
Gryphon Mesh Router is Great!
Love my Gryphon Mesh Router system, I have 3 spread around my house. The speed is phenomenal and I really like the app, very user friendly and easy to navigate. Everything that you want to do is logically placed and very easy to use, without compromising the full functionality.
My only issue with the Gryphon system, not the app, is the paucity of VPNs that are currently blocked for parental control. Once this hole is plugged, there will be no better mesh router on the market, and I’ve tried many.Show lessThe kid who typed this review
Loving Parental Controls and Online Support
We have several children ages two, nine, 12, and 19. We purchased two towers one is a repeater so our old home gets coverage everywhere. There have been a few hiccups but their online support is unparalleled and we really love having age restrictions, schedules, downtime and more options as well as security for our wireless. It’s not your ISP
About two years ago I was completely fed up with my internet speed, so I bit the $20/month bullet and shelled it out to my ISP. No improvement to my speed.
After a lot of research, I decided that it was time to buy a big boy router. I have not been disappointed. The speed I get out of this router alone is worth the price. But the app has so much more than just speed improvements. Being able to have various assignments for devices and also turn off groups or single devices is great. Very helpful! Expanded coverage and secure internet.
I needed something to help boost my wifi coverage and Gryphon has helped provide my house with strong internet in areas it used to be nonexistent.
Also knowing that the networks are secure has been a comfort and brought about a lot of peace of mind with my family.
