  • Useless when away from city

App has mediocre logging capability. Only records max and min for the day so you cannot see trends or overall history. Worst of all the app only allows access to your Bluetooth devices when internet connection is available. Useless to check system status when outside mobile data range! This point is unacceptable.

    Developer Response

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced with our app. We are constantly working to improve our app's functionality and features to better serve our customers. Regarding your concern about logging capability, we understand that different devices have different history recording capabilities. Therefore, we kindly request you to send us your device details at digital_service@renogy.com so that we can provide you with further assistance. Regarding the issue with Bluetooth device access, we would like to clarify that our app does not require an internet connection to access your Bluetooth devices. The app needs internet access only when you log in for the first time. Once you've logged in, you can add and monitor energy devices via Bluetooth even when offline. However, we do recommend that you have internet access to access the community feature and other online resources.

  • Latest Update

Since updating to the latest version I must now open the app, click on device, app crashes, close app and restart!

Open settings, no settings, close app and restart.

This app was at best a borderline OK before updating. How have you made it worse!

  • One of the few apps that isn’t updating for the sake of updating

So rare to find an app that actually gets better with updates. This one has done it. Thank you for giving me more info about what is going on with my system. I also appreciate the community that you have built into this app. I have learned so much from it.
  • It’s OK

I just use it to monitor 2 lifepo4 batteries charging via epever controller with BT2 monitor.
Recent updates have fixed problems in f connectivity to be fair.

Pluses- you can see most of battery information well, cell voltages , temp, error states. You can save on a battery monitor/ shunt as this shows clearly negative(draw) and positive (charge) currents which is great.
Minuses- no cumulative data / historic.
Don’t think you can upgrade firmware by the app.
Annoying that you have to login to account to get anywhere. (So need a live ish internet connection to yr phone)
Disconnects from BT fairly easily and short range around 5m perhaps.

  • Can’t even log in

I can’t use the app so I’ll never know if it’s good. You press “create new account” nothing happens, “Sign In” nothing happens. Doesn’t matter if I manually try create an account or if I try use third party account creation (Apple), the same thing happens. Just a millisecond loading simple and then nothing at all.
I’ve tried this on my iPhone and iPad, same problem.

  • Great app from Renogy

I’m unsure what the issues were in the past, but I found this app seamlessly working so far.

Downloaded and registered in 2 minutes, connected up to my Smart battery and all seems to work fine to me. Shows the time to fully charge, charging current, voltage, temperature, capacity in Ah (and percentage) etc.

    Thumbs up from me.

  • Most unreliable app ever seen

I have 6 BT 200AH lithium batteries and 2 charge controllers, 30A Adventurer and 60A Rover, and this app works less than 50% of the time. You can find some of the devices some times, find nothing many times, and even if you find the devices, you may not ever see the displays. The actual displays, when you get them, are great! The annoyance when you could use the information but can’t get it is even greater. Don’t publish junk like this if you can’t make it work, or fix it.
The installation is remote, with poor cell service and therefore data connections for internet access. If this app is failing because of a spotty internet connection, that is a real problem.

  • History not working correctly

Ever since the last couple of updates, the history page isn't showing results for all the parameters – 5 have been missing. I had saved a recent screenshot before they went missing, so I know the information was there. But there is no way for me now to know running days total, over discharge times, battery full times, and two other parameters.

Is this fixable? I didn't change anything on my charge controller.

  • Worked great…for two days

I have a Renogy DCC50S DC-DC charger. It is inconsistent at best when it comes to charging. Charge rates fluctuate from 20-50 amps regardless of temperature, battery SOC, or any other factor. I bought a BT-2 so I could try to determine what was going on. DC-Home and the BT-2 worked great showing me the starter and house battery charge information. Then, after two days, it all just went blank.
I’m going to replace this all with Victron components.
