  • All Renogy Products are not supported

Trying to get my data for my setup. The MPPT charge controller shows how much energy is produced but using an inverter to know how much you are drawing from the system is too much for Renogy to handle. Horrible customer service with them.

Anyway, is it too much to ask that you be able to see your daily production and consumption along with being able to export it someplace.

I’ve spent a lot of money on all this stuff from them… at least make a useable app.

  • It was getting better but not so sure now…

The app itself is more stable but I don’t trust it any more. Now I have 1 battery that says it’s 97% charged and 2 that are 67% charged.

All 3 are the same voltage (total and cells) and all 3 stop charging at the same time, around 13.7 or 13.8 volts,.

So I’m starting to conclude, looking at a SOC chart, that the percentage numbers are nonsense.

Hopefully my batteries are ok and the app is wrong but I’m never sure. Voltage doesn’t lie, so I’m thinking the app is wrong on percent numbers.

  • Ah yes the tools in the board room

Yea Jim, that media social is going off! Like bang bang with the money.
(Small voice says) bob, we’ve been getting some input that we should focus on the core features first then establish social as a value add to our core product functionality. Ya know, once we’ve reached a solid MVP state according to our users. Which by the way, I’m still waiting for signoff on the budget to get those first 3 users in to interview and gather hands on product feedback. I appreciate you reviewing it for us yourself Bob, but actual user feedback really is the key.”
Bob: well Tina. I hear ya. Jim, let’s make that’s on our list somewhere. Let’s stay on track for now though. So, Now. Back to that media social, I’ve got a nephew who’s just graduated and…

  • Keeps improving app

This is a fairly newer app that they continue to improve. They listen to feedback and have slowly made this app more user friendly. Some people want things to happen over night with this app and can be so demanding. There is a lot of people who feel that Renogy should just hand them products when they have nothing to offer Renogy in return. Aka the review about how Renogy literally should give him things to test and not market on social media? The entitlement is beyond me. Renogy influencers actually use the products and some live some intense off grid lives and I completely appreciate being able to see how others are using their products on social media. Renogy doesn’t owe you anything as far as free products and influencers get things because they have spent time and money investing in Renogy products they purchased already with their own money. I love the app but the community can be so full of entitlement it’s unreal.

  • Staff

I needed help getting everything after ordering parts separately, the staff really knew what they were doing and what I needed: I should of ordered the kit to begin with: it would if saved my money
  • Too much social

Drop the social media, give me more information about my power system. I don’t care about some person miles away; I want to know what’s going on with my system.
  • Could be significantly better

It’s a bummer that the solar charge controller (Rover MPPT) gives you a lot of great information on the unit itself and the BT only relays some of it. Makes me want to write my own app and connect the Bluetooth to it. The app has way to many social media features that no one cares about or finds useful in any way.

If you literally just take the info the charge controller gives and display that on the phone via Bluetooth it would be great. Having a Bluetooth unit for every Renogy part is also silly IMO. Hoping for more updates and features in the future.

  • Pretty good app

If you have a bt-2 connected to your inverter it’s doesn’t seem to track any sort of historical usage. I have no idea how much energy I’ve used from the inverter.

The app does not show estimated battery % like my mppt controller does. Seems like this info would be easy to display.

    Otherwise very good app

  • Latest app update has issues

First, I like Renogy gear and I have a lot of it but this app is frustrating. First if you try and change the name of any registered device showing and hit save, it will never change the name of any device. So I am stuck with factory model numbers. I have 4 smart batts in parallel with network interconnects. Individually registered and then all four show most of the time. But you will not be able to work out which battery is 1 to 4. So if you want to trouble shoot then your out of luck. Also constant freezing so rather than wait, just have to keep exiting and entering the app to try and get a reading update. Pitty as they loose plenty of sales due to this issue given people who spend a few k in funds, expect a basic app that actually works.

  • Was working better last update

The app likes to freeze if I leave it open now as opposed to the last update where everything was finally working for the fist time since getting the app. I like to always be checking my power levels throughout the day. I don't have enough solar equipment so I gotta keep things efficient. Just makes it annoying that I have to relaunch it to use it now when things were finally working. Update it got even worse because now it just doesn’t work period like how hard is it to make an app that accepts info and displays it?
