  • This app is extremely inaccurate

Do not rely on this app to show you what is truly being sent through or taken from your battery. It is extremely inaccurate and I have been monitoring it now for weeks. The present current jumps so much in a matter of minutes, even with a 20 amp charge controller on the battery. Half the time it doesn’t even register the charger on the battery even though the battery is charging.

  • No battery percentage

Why on earth would you not include the battery percentage in this app? That’s the number 1 thing any user would want to be able to see. The data is available from the charge controller. Unreal. *Update- developer responded saying you can see the battery percentage in the battery section, but this is not true. You cannot see the battery section, only the controller. Battery information simply does not load.*

  • Good history

Has a better Bt than others, connects and keeps history.
  • Is there something better

This app doesn’t really tell me much. I’m better off installing a voltage readout and guessing my battery charge. I’ve been using 6 months and haven’t really noticed any real advantages. I couldn’t tell you how low in ah my battery was or how many ah I received from solar from 10am to 2pm. The history shows details but it’s not specific. It will show how much I recharged on any given day but i don’t think it’s accurate.

  • Please Fix to Make it Work

I downladed the app and specifically used these batteries so I could monitor their charge levels remotely. With the current update I'm unable to use my login that I've used for the last year. The password reset didn't function properly and I'm currently unable to access my battery info.

This app primarily has one function, to give me info on my batteries so I can use them appropriately. It's currently failing at that function.

Developers, please focus your energy and effort on the function of this app. Let go of all the extra nonsense and just let it function. I switched my charge controller to a Victron and it's bluetooth app is stable, simple, no login needed. Can you model your app to function like this? If not it will strongly have me no longer recommend Renogy to others as you don't provide the stable, functionality as needed.

    Developer Response

thanks for your feedback. DC Home app designed a feature: just need to login only once when you can access internet and do not logout. Then you can run DC Home without internet anytime and anywhere .
  • Works as Expected

I use this to check the charge level of my battery. It works as expected.

I don’t have it hooked up to a controller so I can’t speak to that.
  • App and maybe BMS are horrible for batteries

App crashes constantly. The cell voltage and SOC are constantly incongruent. % SOC is always too low. BMS fails to charge the right (low) battery consistently. There’s also no graph of the voltage over time, like other LiFe battery manufacturers. Customer service ignores the questions and culpability, instead giving “busy work” to keep you off their back. If the cell voltage added a few more decimal places and provided a graph showing SOC based on sum of the four cells, that would help immensely, while the app is being fixed. Also, there should be a way to update the BMS firmware.

    Developer Response

thanks for your feedback, it's recommend that update DC Home to latest version and we have fixed some bugs to make it stable.
  • Some improvements made

The last two releases (.14 & .15) have made the app more functional. Some bugs remain around history data graphs and the lack of support for the 2000 & 3000 watt Inverter/Charger models. But it does work better now.
  • Does not have all settings

This app does not have settings the other app did - most notably changing the boost duration parameter. You cannot change it on the Rover unit and only the older Renogy bt allows it.

Please update this app to have this feature.
  • Almost useless

First time setting all of this up and horribly disappointed in how the app works with the BT-2 and my Rover 40 elite. The app keeps disconnecting from Bluetooth so when you “refresh” nothing changes. The info provided is barely useful if you only have a charge controller. The stats history is only monthly so you can’t drill down to get detail.

The worst part of all that above is if you have the app run in the background, you are pretty much forced to close the app then reopen every time you want to look at something. Even then, it may take 3-4 times open/closing to get it to connect to Bluetooth so you’re out of luck trying to check in throughout the day.
