  • Fraudulent company will take money from your bank without authorization

these people never told me, or asked for my permission in withdrawing funds from my personal bank account. I wanted this app to help me pay off my credit cards. But in the time I started seeing a lot of WITHDRAWALS coming out of my personal account. Except for the fact that I never agreed to that. They will simply start taking your money and putting it in the app without your permission or knowledge. I got very upset seeing money taken out, a few dollars at a time, multiple times a day with this app. I no longer want anything to do with this app. Do not mess with people's money and start taking it unauthorized. There's already little trust in corporations having our personal information, and I was really mad to see you guys messing with my money. No thank you. It's also impossible to delete your account info and even the whole profile itself. I have not found a way to do so and am trying to talk to customer service about this. Be informed. There is no customer service it’s just an ai who talks to you over and over again with the same messages back and forth. It is a fraudulent company and don’t trust it at all.

  • Money Angel 😇

Bright Money was complexly thought out to cover all aspects of life where money is on the forefront. It’s the baby steps, helping hand you greatly needed back when you turned 18 and thought you were adult enough to use a credit card. Turns out everything you thought wasn’t true, your parents were always right and Bright Money should be your FIRST step when blindly walking into the world of credit/saving. Thankful, Bright Money can also help with the aftermath of those poor credit decisions and help you rebuilt TEACHING you what you thought you knew along the way. Bright Money literally takes the thought out of saving because it does it all for me! In a world so fast and hectic, I am absolutely thankful many times over for this app/people behind the app. My life has already began looking forward by gaining sanity knowing I’ll have that money cushion, debt has went down and score already gone up! Do yourself a favor, download it and let it change your life!!
  • Customer service

Horrible customer service via the chat. They don’t help try to resolve the issue. They just give instructions on how to cancel the membership. Then during that process it informed me that canceling could effect my credit score a lot. So reaching back out to the chat they again suggested the membership cancellation. No upsell, no incentive. Not even a bit of remorse. I’m pretty sure the app developers wouldn’t recommend this. I’ve worked in sales for a long time and this is absolutely horrible. Especially with all my personal identification info Bright Money has on record. I’m feeling bamboozled. Scammed.
downloaded this app over a year ago. You guys charged my card $80. I wouldn't mind staying with the membership but when I try to change my phone number it says it already exists. Idk if I used my current number to try to start an account. I don't know why it has another chime credit card number. It won't let me adjust it or anything. I can't find but a couple of emails from bright and they are promotional emails. Is this some type of identity theft? At this point I want a refund and I don't want to be a part of this platform if my identification is at risk.

  • Informative and functional app BUT….

Bright has been great in terms of helping me keep track of my credit card balances all in one place. I do think it might have helped boost my credit a few points here and there but nothing super substantial yet, and that’s that I’ve been doing their credit builder program for at least 8mo now. The thing that is a bit frustrating however is that they lure you in with the offer of once you’ve completed x amount of payments and qualified, you will be given a line of credit essentially to transfer your card balances over so you’re not paying all that interest. Well, I completed the 5 required months forever ago however I haven’t even been given an estimate as to when I might qualify to transfer my balances. There’s a bar which tells you the percentage of how close you are but there is no sure way to know what variables it’s measuring to qualify you. My percentage stayed the same for like 2mo then all of a sudden jumped up less than 10%. So if you already have fairly good credit and are trying to make it better this will probably be most helpful to you. But if you have lower credit or higher card balances it may not work for you as quick as you’d hope.

  • Probably a good app, but they left a bad impression with me

I’m sure this app is probably good at doing whatever it does, I see many people leaving good reviews. But they messed up with me when I was gett started. I couldn’t put my credit card info since I had misplaced it a while ago and I’ve been waiting for a new one in the mail. Meanwhile, these people never told me, or asked for my permission in withdrawing funds from my personal bank account. I wanted this app to help me pay off my credit cards. But in the time I was waiting for my card in the mail, I started seeing a SEA OF WITHDRAWALS coming out of my personal account. This app started a “smart savings” which is pretty nice, except for the fact that I necer agreed to that. They will simply start taking your money and putting it in the app without your permission or knowledge. I got very upset seeing money taken out, a few dollars at a time, multiple times a day with this app. I no longer want anything to do with this app. Do not mess with people’s money and start taking it unauthorized. There’s already little trust in corporations having our personal information, and I was really pussed off to see you guys meaaing with my money. No thank you. It’s also impossible to delete your account info and even the whole profile itself. I have not found a way to do so and am trying to talk to customer service about this. Be informed before downloading this app.

  • Won’t give a refund but playing mind games

Three months ago I spotted a charge on my bank statement for almost $100 and looked where it came from. Bright money was the culprit! So I downloaded the app, made an account and reached out to thwm. This ensued a three month long fight to get my money refunded. I shared screen shots of the charge and my bank statements and I have been run around for three months now with still no refund in sight! Every time I manage to talk to someone, they in the end agree that I could be refunded but then they don’t follow through, and the next person says something else!! They initiate a refund just for it to drop off the next day or just not actually go through. I get emails with blank pages, when I get any emails at all; it’s always something different that I am told. I have jumped through so many hoops and tried to be as patient and kind as possible but I have never had such a poor experience
With an app that I had never even downloaded until after the charge appeared! Don’t do it, the customer service is horrible and they will charge you and not even apologize if you don’t want the service they provide! I’mSo done with right money! I just want my money back!!

  • Good Until It Stops Working

This app (in theory) provides a great service with an easy way to keep track of your credit score, how much is in your bank account and uses rounding up to put money towards credit debt. However, it is nearly impossible to communicate with customer service if you have any issues. The credit builder account which is supposed to have you pay back $50 over time to improve your credit score never worked, even though I activated it within the app. You can contact customer service through a chat bot, but ultimately have to email someone and the responses I got were disjointed and did not address the issue I was having. My credit score stopped being updated and roundups keep being sent to a credit card that has already been paid off, and my emails to customer service have not been responded too. While this app purports to provided a service which is good in theory, the execution isn’t there and it’s ultimately more of a hassle than anything else. Extremely frustrating when you are trying to take steps to actively take control of your money.

  • Terrible app, worse customer service

I downloaded this app to try the credit builder, consolidation, and credit line features, and to help pay down my credit card debt faster, all the things they say they do, sounds good.
I was denied for the credit line, fine, I need to build my credit. So on to the credit builder. It says the plan is active, but it’s been more than 2months and I still don’t even know if it’s supposed to draft these payments or if I’m supposed to submit them because I can’t find the button and I emailed their support team on 8/3 to clarify and still no response as of 9/22. So my credit isn’t building.
On to credit card payments. First, it takes two payments from my checking, but seems to have only submitted one on my statement with the bank. Weird. Second, I click “pay with Bright” on another account a day before the bill is due because they offer late fee protection. More than a week goes by before the money is drafted from my account on 8/28. As of 9/22, that payment hasn’t posted to the card. Where is my money? I emailed to ask how the late fee guarantee works on 8/28, when the money finally left my checking account, but still no reply.
This app is quick to make promises and take their fees from your account, but slow to deliver on those promises or get back to you. Do not recommend right now.

  • App glitches and sign-up is misleading

I clicked through to see membership benefits but they were hard to evaluate before choosing a plan. The plan said it was $89 or $7 per month so I clicked to continue figuring $7 per month is okay. No confirmation that I was authorizing the full year’s charge to be withdrawn in a lump sum but that’s what they withdrew a day later. They sent no email confirming the charge - they removed from my bank account with no receipt sent.

Before finding they were misleading in their charges I tried to enter my account info for several cards to my plan and each time the card was accepted but did not populate onto the list of my accounts, checking back a few hours later I found the new cards did populate but other accounts had been dropped for no reason, making it impossible to load all of my accounts successfully into the app.

Again when canceling my membership I was not sent any information about any refund in email. A company that requires direct access to all of your banking logins needs to be much more transparent about the money they plan to withdraw from those accounts and they should send a clear accounting by email.

  • Great concept, poor implementation

I like the user interface of the app and the ease of connecting all your accounts to have a good overview. I was interested in doing the Credit Builder program and I signed up. I was charged $99 for a membership, I was never given the option to choose the monthly fee instead, it all got charged at once. I’ve been waiting weeks for the Credit Builder program to begin and so far nothing has happened. In a nutshell, they loan you $50 and you pay it back in 5 $10 payments to build your credit. This is supposed to reward you with the ability to perform a balance transfer of up to $8000 to a Bright Money line of credit. It would be amazing if it would actually work, but after contacting the company on two separate occasions and never hearing back, it’s hard not to think this is a scam to just get your $99 and run. I was able to escalate my concerns and they said they would be issuing a refund of the $99. I also deleted my account and am disappointed that it didn’t work out, but glad they addressed my concerns.

Update: Here I am over a week later and the refund never came. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. This is what happens when AI is left to run a business
