One of the best apps I have found

I don’t want sure how I would like this app, I have tried many different apps to build my credit and only a few I have liked. I was pleasantly surprised by what a difference bright has made for me. I don’t even notice the small amounts they use to pay my card, and couldn’t believe what had been paid on my card, and what was saved in my stash without me even having a clue! They only use small amounts that you won’t notice and I have never had an issue. Low balance-no withdrawal. I swear I haven’t noticed a single withdrawal! But my FICO score is up 39 points so far because my credit usage decreased so significantly, and I have extra money saved in my stash for a tough week or month. I recommend this to anyone needing to get ahead on their credit accounts or improve their credit score.

Awesome AI paid down my debt automatically

This app is awesome! Really helped me pay down my debt, without me even noticing! Today I checked. Only been using Bright Money for 3 months and paid off 1 card. Thank you xoxo! Bright automatically saved money from my checking account, and paid my credit cards at the background! The AI worked so well, never overdrafted me. They even got all the due dates right so I never missed a payment. Credit cards are so easy to get, but so hard to pay off! Geez how would I know that credit card minimum payment is meant to keep me be indebted forever. And every card has a different due date. Sometimes I went to vacation and forget... then boom got charged late fee of $39 and then interest rate! I felt I would never pay them down. Then I joined Bright and I feel hope again. There was a couple of times I had to contact customer service - so nice and patient. Highly recommend for everyone.

Response from developer

Hi there - It's great to hear that you like our service. Thank you for your support! It means a lot to us :)

Good idea, but not for everyone

Long story short, I had almost $300 taken out of my checking account and bright was to pay it toward my credit card...the only problem is 3 weeks later my credit card issuer reached out and said they had not received a payment for the month and now was overdue. I thought bright paid my credit card weeks ago? Hmmm.

Basically Bright had taken my money and for whatever reason the payment never made it to my credit card. It was still processing and the “estimated date” bright said I should expect to see the payment go through kept getting pushed back every day.

I reached out to support and they were able to reverse the funds back to my bright account which from there I could transfer back into my checking account. Thankfully I got my funds back today and closed my bright account. I think the app is a great idea but it didn’t work for me at all, i’m just better off paying it off myself rather than have a 3rd party do it for me. Support was very helpful but i’m sad it was a below average experience. :(

Best in its Class

I’ve tried out a few apps similar to this. I ended my relationship with all of them in less than a month due to various bugs and integration issues.

I’m so glad I found Bright! It’s all I will ever need for credit card management. The algorithm is seamless. I never realize the money has been removed from my bank account. My cards are all paid on time or early. I used to be hesitant to use all of my credit cards because I didn’t want to forget a balance on one of them. But now I don’t have to worry about it! My credit is soaring because I’m actually using all my cards, and Bright is making sure those balances get paid strategically so I pay the least amount of interest.

I’m pretty OCD with money management. I use the Ramsey+ app for budgeting and I categorize every purchase I make. I’m so glad I finally found a credit card management app to supplement my financial planning - an app that actually works and isn’t lacking anything!

Love the Idea and The methodology behind Bright.

So far I have used it for a month and it feels nice that it collects small deposits throughout each day to make one big savings to be used for my credit card minimums. And still have the option to edit the minimums so if you want it to pay more than the minimum you can. And then the option to withdraw the extra money on bright is also pretty satisfying. It’s equivalent to have a savings account for CC payments. I hope they can add more banks so I can add additional credit cards to bright so I can have all my CCs on the app. Does a great job of choosing days to pay them and always early. I think it was worth the try and keep.

This app has a few quirks, but it’s absolutely being a lifesaver for me.

There are a few bugs in this app, and I’m unsure how the algorithm that’s being used is determine the amounts it does on the days it draws on my account. Some days, I’ve had two withdrawals taken out of my account on the same day. Others, they take a few hundred (which seems extreme, but based around my pay schedule, actually works out just fine for having enough leftover to last me until the next payday). And the fact that it automates the payments to my cards, so I’ve grown accustomed to the balance I see in my checking as my *actual* budget is so extremely helpful.

This app has a lot of promise, but over the last month, it’s been really helping me a lot. It’s lowered interest charges over pay periods and even refunded the minimum payments on one of my accounts by the way it handles payments. If you’re struggling with managing debt and a budget, this app is really worth a try. I do hope they develop even more features and fix some of the bugs. Will be keeping my eyes on how this helps my credit score!

HORRIFIC DO NOT USE !!!! STEALS YOUR MONEY

I wish I read the reviews. Then i wouldn’t be crying right now on the phone with my bank trying to close my account because this company steals your information forever. I deleted the app (thinking somehow that would stop my account from being set up since i was in the middle of it and new this was a scam) and can’t even access my account now- they make you set up a new account when you download it again. Therefore they are taking $5 out of my account frequently and this caused me to overdraft??? now i have major fees and have no way to cancel my account so now i have to literally set up a new bank account to get away from this slimey app. don’t let this app ruin your life- DO NOT GET IT.
I wish i could give it zero stars. I wish i could warn anyone who thinks this is just going to help you budget and manage credit cards. it is the dumbest most invasive app ever. I am so nervous that i put SUCH personal information into it.

Not what they claim

If you are trying to pay off debt, but still live check to check, this isn’t for you. It will automatically take money from you at random times in order to “save” for a credit card to make a payment. If you need that money for a mcchicken or gas later that week, good luck. I also found that there’s no way to remove a bank account or card info from the app. There’s also no way to delete your account on your own. You have to “contact support” which is just a robot with a name who repeats the same lines. It shouldn’t be this complicated to delete an account. Please do yourself a favor and don’t even bother. There’s also a 9.99 a month charge that I also didn’t see anything about. It’s just an awful design all the way around. If you have money to spare and you just want it to automatically pay your bills then I’m sure it’ll work for you. But I can’t afford to put even $5 towards a card that isn’t due until the end of the month. I have other bills to pay!

Stole my money!

This app is extremely misleading and useless! I made an account back in December. When I signed up there was no mention of a monthly fee and I never agreed to pay for anything. They charged me $9.99 in January and I didn’t even notice the charge. They charged me again February 15th and when I saw it I thought it was then taking out money to put into the app account to pay towards my credit card payments. After a few days I never saw the money in the app so I emailed them last night about it. I got an email this afternoon asking me about how I would rate the suppose to received for my issue. At this point I’m confused because I never received a response email about the situation. I scroll down and see an email attached showing that someone had responded maybe 30 minutes after my first email. But I literally never got it. I searched my junk mail, trash, EVERYTHING and there was nothing there. So I had to send a completely new email to try and get a refund and now I have to wait again for a response. Definitely not a helpful app AT ALL and just like the year 2020 I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Great credit card app!

It took me a while to figure out exactly how Bright was going to work and I didn’t exactly understand based on what I was seeing in the app. However, they withdraw money from your bank account in small chunks throughout the month as long as the money is available and then make all of your minimum monthly payments on time. If you set a goal of savings that is above your monthly minimums, they will pay that extra toward a card to get it paid off. I’m very close to paying off a card that I have been trying to pay off for a while and have paid at least the minimums on all of my other cards. It has been easier having them do it than me doing it on my own!
