Leaving Etsy!
Every day: I wake up to multiple reviewed listings being removed by Etsy! I’ve been selling on Etsy for a very long time: I know how to make a listing. I have things being removed that were there for over a year and have multiple sales and zero prohibited content! Yet the algorithm keeps targeting my products! This is sinking my business and of course there’s no way to actually speak to someone about why your listings are being removed! You can’t even appeal their decision! I pay them a percentage of my sales and I can’t appeal a decision or speak to someone about my shop?! This is giving scammer vibes!
1yr later: DO NOT WASTE YOUR Money with ETSY! They’re only in it for the money and will snatch your business away from you at a moment’s notice. Their policies are not clear, there’s no customer service and they take money in multiples ways from every sale you make. They show favoritism to successful shops, they allow them to break copyright rules because it makes them more money! All they care about is lining their pockets, your business means nothing to them. Just get a Website, it’s cheaper in the long run and you have more control over your shop.
I hope this helps to prevent someone from making a huge mistake.Developer Response

Been on the platform since the beginning. This is NOT the same site it used to be. POD, digital products, celeb collaborations and mass produced stuff bought from temu and being passed off as “handcrafted” has killed what was once a great site. This particular app is a perfect example of this. The old version worked and everything to create a lisiting and run your shop could be done completely within the app. Now I have to constantly bounce back and forth between the app and the website to make sure my listings are complete. I didn’t realize until tonight that listings I had up since Halloween (it is now Sumer) were never placed in the proper shop sections! I created them through the app and it never dawned on me until I went to my shop that over a dozen items weren’t in the right section. Why would I? I copied a previous listing to make it faster and it should have placed them in there! Instead, they were left out and I found out there is NO place in the seller app listings to move them. So I had to go to the website, go into my account and individually add them to the proper sections. This is another example of how little this company and its new owners think of their sellers. Without the sellers there would be NO etsy! Change the name, change the mission because the old days of purely handcrafted and vintage items ONLY are gone. So is the RESPECT to the sellers that truly made this site what it was.Developer Response

This sellers app that was forced on me as a seller is terrible. They delete options and make it harder for sellers, not easier. I can’t make notes on my orders to print anymore, which is how I get the orders correct. I need to be able to add info after theyve ordered. Like maybe a “needs by” date a buyer emailed me after ordering, or changes to size or colors. I need notes to print on the receipt, not be “hidden from buyer”. There should be two options.
Another problem is you can’t print multiple orders at once, only one by one. If I use the website instead of the sellers app, it automatically kicks me out to the sellers app. I go in circles, so I then just give up and stay aggravated printing one by one.
I’ve called customer service, they never help they read from their script talk nonsense and don’t help. Nor does anyone ever follow up. Shame on Etsy, keep aggravating and over charging your sellers….youll be non existent in no time. Sellers are the only reason you have a site, you should attempt to hear them out and make changes for the better. I’ve gone from being a top 1% seller to giving up on Etsy. Etsy lost commission amounts, I guess they don’t care.Developer Response
