👍 mobile deposits!
Been using it for a while and really like the mobile deposit feature. Have had no instances of failure to log in but I don’t use the facial recognition. I did have a few times it did not log in but those could have been internet issues.
Disappointing
I’ve tried so hard to remain patient with this app and give SSFCU the benefit of a doubt. Not very happy with the poor functionality of this app- which seems to become worse with each major update. Most of the time, it takes 5+ minutes to simply log in, at the bare minimum. Every single action I attempt to take while finally getting into the app takes very long to load/process, which really puts me in a bind at times when I really need to access my money. I’m at the point where I’m considering dropping this bank in favor of switching fully to my other banks that have proper mobile banking functionality. The “security” focus is only beneficial if it doesn’t make the app an absolute horror to use and navigate.

SSFCU app
I’m being generous with the 2 star rating. The old app worked great all the years I used it. This new and improved app wasn’t in-house tested very well if I have to continuously manually log myself back in the app every other day on my iPhone.
Once I’m logged in, it works fine. I can only hope the app iPhone login gets fixed sooner rather than later.
***Update: I’m not sure what happened l, but lately the app has been working flawlessly. Now I’m very satisfied. New rating is 4 stars only because I should have never of had the initial login problems to begin with and I’m not 100% confident in the app yet.

Catastrophic Failure
Waited on hold for 30 minutes to speak to someone who put me on hold for another 26 minutes to speak with someone else. Only for him to explain that I don’t have an account set up. He reviewed all the details of my account via phone (I was in the car) and said I should download the app onto my phone and create and account. Tried twice after filling all my personal information out. Error window pops up says to call them! Ridiculous. Honestly I don’t know why I trust my money in a bank that can’t create a usable app.

Have to delete and download often
After so many visits to the app, I get locked out. I originally sat on the phone trying to get it fixed but the resolution ended up being deleting and reinstalling... but sometimes I need access immediately so very inconvenient. I only keep it because there isn’t another one (other worked fine for years) but lately I’ve been visiting the mobile browser.... they need to fix the bugs ASAP. :/

Worst bank to get a loan
This bank will denied a refinancing car loan even with good credit. They will find any excuse, it’s just a waste of time applying here. I’m also trying to get with them to see why the denial comments were added since my credit tells a different story. I would stay away from this bank! The only reason why apply is because they had a good apr car loan but they only accept people with credit scores higher than 730.

A step backwards
Security services previous app was exactly what a banking app should be fluid well thought out and able to be used quickly the new app feels like the first iteration of the previous the Pay bill feature doesn’t automatically put the balance in like it did before that has caused me to over Pay or under Pay on multiple occasions when needing to deposit by mobile deposit the outline of where to place the check is not where the check needs to be placed to be recognized then when putting in the amount it leaves the decimal point in it’s a good idea on paper for fluidity but when it comes to banking I’d prefer to type it out myself when opening the app it will automatically do face recognition instead of asking you to input pass word so it makes the quick balance feature useless and shows all of my accounts when unlocked in this day and time too manny people with bad intent to not be able to have control of what’s shown overall the app is very disappointing and in my opinion a step backwards.

Useless
Would give it a -5 if I could. Was happy to see the new app. Like most of the “improvements”. Big problem though, it won’t remember me. About every third or fourth time I log out it forgets who I am and I have to reenter my login and password (14 random upper/lower case letters, numbers and characters) that I cannot remember. Makes the app useless unless I am at home and can lookup the password. I have given up on trying to use the new app. Will do my banking on my computer from now on. Maybe they will eventually get it fixed.

Horribly Slow
It is usually so slow connecting that it is unusable. Called support, they wanted me to go to the Play Store to update. I repeatedly told the person I had an iPhone. They acted like they had never heard of on iPhone and kept insisting I needed to go to the Play Store. I finally gave up. An app that doesn’t work and no support to help you. I may have to look for another Credit Union.

A little buggy. No new front end features
Edit: Because this app still doesn’t accept auto fill from password lockers, I’ve stopped using it. The SSFCU mobile site is pretty messy, but at least it’s faster to access. I’ll consider returning to the app after this critical bug is fixed.

This app seems to be pretty much the same as the previous app with 3 exceptions: (1) The user name login field doesn’t play nice with autofill from password lockers (eg Apple, 1Password, etc.). (2) Only front end design change seems to be smaller font (???) (3) On the positive side, loading info and the app seemed noticeably faster. I hope they iterate on this new app quickly.
