Fun for Walkers and Fans of LotR

This is a great and enjoyable app for walkers and fans of LotR! I would highly recommend it; the app is easy to use, easy to understand and collects your walking data quickly.

The full version of the app - that I would recommend buying to maximise your enjoyment - only costs £4, and it’s a one-time payment.

The app has a few features that contribute to the enjoyment, taking into account locations from Middle-earth.

Hello Bolovok, Thank you so much for taking the time to review Fantasy Hike. We're delighted to hear you're enjoying it! Happy hiking!

Cute story

Cute app concept and a nice way to encourage movement. Would love to see timezone options in the next update — I’m guessing the default is set to a Northern Hemisphere time zone because it always seems to be night time in the app (when it’s daytime in Australia). Would also love to add friends to the quest for some friendly competition!

Hello amelville, Thank you so much for taking the time to review Fantasy Hike! We're thrilled to hear you like the app. The day/night in the app is not at all connected with time zones, it is instead calculated by our experts and has to do with where on the map you are and what time it was when Mr. Underhill was there. The daytime/night time thing is under consideration by our developers at the moment though. I'm also happy to tell you that the friend feature is currently under development though it's uncertain when it will be released. Happy hiking and thank you again for your review and feedback!

Its pretty cool!

I like checking to see where i am. I think it would also be cool if you had a section were you can see others around you, like they would pop up and you can see them really quick or something. Another thing would be like a widget were we can see the character moving through the map without opening the app and to see it do a dynamic thing like it goes from morning to night ect.

Takes 4 years to complete

Without the premium you can only go one mile a day so that means unless you get the premium you need to spend 4 YEARS MINIMUM to beat

This is me after I bought the game I will it’s not horrible but the data for how fast you move is dumb you go 1 mile for a couple feet the distance you go is also pretty inaccurate.

The Ruler of the Bands

It’s a little funny to see the generic names for the story of The Lord of the Rings, but it makes it worth it if it means it doesn’t go higher than $4. It’s the funnest app! I share screenshots with my friends, we’ve all gotten it together.

The only thing I’d add is allowing your friends to join in on your journey, so you could compete within the app. Much like how you see Mr. Underhill on the map, it would make it much better if I could see my friends on the map. We still share each other our mile count, it would make it that much more immersive if we could see our progress altogether in the app.

This app is great at making me get more exercise

Before I got this app, I was depressed, lonely, and was diagnosed with all types of stage 4 cancer, including brain tumors, blood clots, pancreatic cancer, liver failure, and diabetes. I was also blind and def and missing both my legs. Now I am completely cured from all disease, I have both my legs, many elf friends, and I am no longer blind, def, or depressed. Thank you Fantasy Hike.

Potential

The concept of this app is absolutely genius but, I can’t help too think too add other adventures too go through just for an example after finishing LOTR you can go on a quest through the wizarding world or other franchises the possibilities are endless that would definitely make me frequently come back and recommend it too a friend

Great motivation!

I used to walk regularly and found myself lacking motivation recently. I saw someone mention this online and didn’t have very high expectations - this is so much better than I was anticipating! The artwork is beautiful and I’ve only just started. I respond well to “gamifying” things so I expect this will work well for me. Still unsure what the “late morning” “elevenses” etc categories are for though. Looking forward to getting to Mt. Fire! 😅

Beautiful App!

Super fun to use and I love that you can see where you are with the art. It’s nice to have somebody to rave against. The only problem I have is that the app doesn’t connect to an Apple Watch so if you exercise without your phone on you, it doesn’t count your steps even if you have your watch on. It would be a nice addition but the app is still good nonetheless.

Love it!

Really enjoying this app so far!

One small question that I haven’t found the answer to yet though — what do the counts on Late Mornings, Second Breakfasts, Elevenses, and Afternoon Tea correlate to? Is that the time of day I’m walking or something to do with Frodo? Maybe I’ll solve it once I’ve used the app longer. Either way, a lovely way to push myself to walk more!
