  • I’m amazed

Highly detailed offline maps imo better than Apple Maps (only online). Tons of features like places to eat that tell you many different food options near you and give you a route to follow to get there. Honestly amazed that you can access all this stuff on airplane mode without service or wifi, AND GPS WORKS???? I’ll be using this ALL the time when I backpack Central and Eastern Europe for 3 months. I’ll make another review after I do that.

  • Great offline maps app for hiking,…

Was looking for a free online maps app that I could use for hiking and camping when I don’t have consistent cell service. This is it! I love that I can download maps before a trip and also that it automatically downloads them if I open a map in a new area.
  • Best offline navigation app

I’ve been waiting for this application since the original maps.me was ruined by the new owners. It’s a pity it took so much time to find you, guys.

Did you get rid of logging in via gmail because of tracking by Google? It was so much easier to have a universal login option.

Yes, Log in to OSM via gmail. Current implementation is acceptable but not that convenient.

  • Not good for planning and navigation

The only thing this map is great for is showing your current location so you can see what’s around you. This way you can find toilets or a water fountain, etc.

Planning a route on a bike? Forget it. It routes through the worst places. Instead of using a dedicated bike path, it is suggesting not only a busy road but a completely different direction that is longer that taking the bike path. Instead of routing through a scenic official EU bike trail, it routes through the city next to main roads. So nope, sadly planning is completely unreliable.

And by the way, avoiding tolls, unpaved roads, motorways, etc are all turned on. So routing is not even close to being optimal.

The routing quality highly depends on the underlying OSM maps data. There are also some issues in our algorithms which we are constantly improving. Can you please try the latest July version and send us examples of wrong routes with their screenshots and start/end coordinates at ios@organicmaps.app ? We’re enthusiasts working on a free app in our free time, so some fixes and improvements may take more time than for commercial products.
  • Amazing!

This is the best offline street map available. I’ve tried them all, travelled them world & it’s second to none. Congrats to the developers & wider team. I tell everyone about it.

  • Great navigator for cycle touring

This app is great for cycle touring when you don’t have a precise route planned. Map zones can be downloaded in advance for offline use, the maps are very clear and easy to read on the go, and the ad-hoc routing and turn directions are reliable. An added bonus is the ability to drop pins by tapping on the map, which really helps when tracing out a route or marking a destination.

  • Well designed. A delight to use.

One of the best OSM iOS apps
  • Falls into same trap as GMaps: hiding street names

Getting the map to show street names is, like Google Maps, an exercise in frustration of endlessly playing with zoom level and orientation. Instead it, like GMaps, prefers always showing random place names over streets. Maybe that’s better for some folks, but some of us actually want a street map, not a map of where all the churches and McDonald’s are.

Can you please send us the name/coordinates of the area where you found it difficult to see street names at ios@organicmaps.app? There are some bugs in our current priority algorithm, and we want to fix them. With your help and examples/screenshots, it will be faster.
  • Best Offline Openstreet Mapping System Period

One of the best mapping systems out there. Programmers are responsive in correcting errors quickly. Open streets is the maps used and although missing parts in programming, it rivals both Google and Apple Maps. Users are encouraged to put in places within the software itself to improve efficiency. Keep up the good work.
