  • Could of been 5 stars… greed

If this was on pc i would understand the price in comparison to the apps in the market. But the marketplace in which it is set, the mobile apps market, its unlikely that most people will spend over 10 pounds on an app. If you really wanted to make some money, whoever made this. Make the price 10 pounds and then you might actually get some decent sales, and reviews to. But this is not balanced with the App Store, its just shock to anyone who ends up seeing it after learning to use this. This is a great example of how business owners ruin themselves from greed, when giving get you more in the long run.

  • Feels taped together

Less intuitive and more effort than alternatives, felt like a waste of time even trying it
  • Great concept and love the continued development

Love the new features that have been developed in the last year and absolutely love the blender plug-in, so slick. I feel like with this continued development the price is justified. Keep up the good work!
  • Incredible

This app is one of those incredible tools for Pro iPad use cases. Judging by the reviews, it has come a long way. BUT right now it feels like an expertly tuned app made with love. Apple Pencil inputs feel fantastic, this is a powerful tool that feels like it was made for iPad, rather than a desktop app ported to iPad.

Not to mention the one time payment to unlock additional features instead of a subscription.

This app deserves a much better rating than it has.

  • It’s an OK app but missing alot of features for its price

This is a very basic retopo tool, especially for the rather high price tag of $140.00! It’s missing basic features like sliding final edge loops (you can only slide an edge loop if it’s between 2 other edge loops). It’s also really difficult to retopo things like fingers or other cylinder type shapes because it doesn’t have a knife cut tool that can be used to create new topology by creating a cut across the reference model where there isn’t already retopology, so you have to painstakingly draw each polygon while trying to rotate the cylinder, leg or finger etc into a position where you can draw the next polygon. For this reason it’s not really any good for character retopo…. I can retopo a leg or arm in seconds using Blender or 3D Coat, this app takes MUCH longer as you’ll have to manually draw each poly all the way down the arm/leg. Also very limited on finger gestures, doesn’t even have a 3 finger redo function which I found odd considering it has 2 finger undo? Also haven’t been any updates for nearly half a year so I’m not sure if the devs are very active on the project, which is definitely something to consider if you’re planning on parting with such a large chunk of cash.

  • Excited to See this Evolve

Brilliant app and I want desperately for this to be a regular part of my workflow but I would need a couple things for that to happen. #1 Better Palm rejection to eliminate unwanted UI actions. #2 Ability to adjust camera orbit speed, it’s feels a bit slow sometimes. #3 Being able to transition the target mesh verts to a flat surface matching the uv layout (for high poly models that have UVs like Marvelous Designer) so I can draw quads on flat mesh in order to easily create typology for difficult to reach/see places like in deep folds of cloth. That would be a game changer for me and make this app’s price easy to justify. I’m so excited to see how this develops and I think they have an incredible product on their hands. Making topology fun is no small feat, but they have already accomplished that. Hats off to the devs, Cozy Blanket is awesome! I Look forward to the updates you have in store 😋

  • Great App. Worth the price.

This is a great application. It’s fun to use and works like a charm.
The fact the I can retopo, uv and bake maps on my IPad Pro is insane. I hope they add more features.

I think the bad reviews regarding price are unfair. The people who make these apps have to eat and pay rent, or are they supposed to just give it away for free?

  • Seems good but way too pricey for what it is

Tried out the demo and found it to be a bit buggy. Specifically couldn’t get the merge uvs gesture to work at all. Don’t know if that means it’s locked to the full price version or just broken but it’s a basic function to merge uvs so either way that’s concerning.

It’s good it has a demo version but a fully featured trial would be better. Not being able to try out the different features to see if they even work as promised but being expected to fork out £79.99 is crazy.

From a business standpoint, I think pricing this cheaper would get more people to purchase it, as I for one, will not be buying at such a price.
The lite version is priced similarly to the full version of Nomad and Forger! Paying that for fully functional sculpting programs, one of which has modeling capabilities but then paying 4 times that for the next part of the pipeline makes no sense. So even the lite version with its basic features doesn’t seem worth it in comparison to the value for money of those apps. The full version has been priced more in line with Topogun, a similar program for desktop that has been around for a very long time. If we’re pricing apps similarly to their desktop equivalents then you’d expect Nomad and Forger to be hundreds of dollars like Zbrush. Nobody would buy them at that price and I think a lot of people wouldn’t buy this at £79.99 either. If the full version was reduced to around £30 I’d probably pay it but till then I’ll stick to taking my sculpts to the PC to retopo and uv.

  • the app is great

Edit: most of my wishlist about the appawhere added fast, i love this app, it still has some misfires, or not recognizing some gestures, specially when you are in small spaces of your sculpt, but still beats everything else because of ergonomics. gret aop, totally worth it.

Original Review: its not frustratingly buggy but you encounter them from time to time, one in particular is the handling of scale, small objects like a shoe get clipped out by the camera view, so you need to upscale it in blender to 10x or more, the camera sometimes snaps a goes wacky all over the scene, it has a handy double tap to re center to the model, but in my experience you have to restart or it keeps happening, I still plan to use it a lot bc of portability and ergonomics, yes there are many addons and other apps that do a better job, but all of those are tied to a PC, the price is steep but this is a veeery niche app. wishlist: -import texture for reference -“apply” mirror so you can continue retopo on assymetrical but similar objects -subdivision, at least 1 level

  • It’s going to be great, but…

I’ve just been trying the demo version. It’s amazing, and feels like a bit of the future. But the price is simply out of my range. I appreciate that this is intended to be a serious tool but it’s hard to justify this price when most of us already have access to one form of retopology tool or another. And comparison to apps like Nomad or Procreate and what they can do, doesn’t help. I really hope this project is successful because it’s a great idea very thoughtfully done, and it’s clearly going somewhere. But not for me at this price. I say that reluctantly, I really want it! At half the price I would think twice but I would probably go for it. I wonder how many other people would too. I know I’m not alone in being put off by the price as it stands.
