  • First of its Kind on IOS. Great for On the Go 3D Artists

This is fantastic! I can combine this with Blender and not have any excuses to not work on models. It’s also kind of therapeutic sitting there on the couch with the iPad and doing a small retopology.

Of course like any new thing, it has some minor things people will nitpick about. For example, the iPad 6th generation isn’t ideal for bigger 3D model cleanup because of its older processor and storage. But I have hopes for this one since it works pretty smoothly on the older model with mid grade models.

I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this app!

  • Needs work

Editing my initial review: lowering to two stars because the camera needs a lot of work. If at anytime you have more than two fingers/skin contact on the screen, the camera will start erratically zooming and you can no longer pan/orbit. I cannot consistently fix this issue. In my last session, the camera got stuck inside the model and will no longer frame. Having save locked behind a license is detrimental because an app reset would likely fix the camera, but then you lose all of your work.

    Original Review:
As a 1.0 release, this is a great start. As a learning tool for beginners, this is excellent. The app does suffer from some lack of quality of life features, but the core is there. Personally for me, I am not ready to purchase the perpetual license until these core features and perpetual license features start arriving. Suggestions: I think paywalling a save feature is silly. It is not conducive to a learning or game-ifying environment. More undo history steps would be nice Redo (three finger tap) is missing Cannot X-ray underlying mesh Extruding edges could be handy in some cases. Maybe hold a modifier and drag an edge out With perpetual license: More file type support, including FBX with multi object meshes

  • Great concept but too pricey and still buggy.

The concept and experience overall is amazing. However still needs refinement. Camera goes crazy sometimes. No redo gesture for what I can see. Still missing some tools like poly strokes, patches, knife and some others.

Retopologize in iPad this way can be fun, convenient and even relaxing, but when you ask for 140$ for such a niche tool you are putting this toll in a professional price point level. All that in a world where Blender is free and you can get Retopoflow for 65. Retopoflow which is planned to be included as a native plugin for free in the future. All that also keeping in mind you have to deal with the poly number limitations iPad hardware might have. Also sculpting tools like Nomad are around 25$. Procreate is 10$ for God sake.

This feels to me like price is been pull up that much trying to make the most of the fact that iOS users are willing to pay more for their apps, even too much sometimes.

40$ would have been a “I’m going to buy it even if it’s a bit buggy, or if don’t use that much and wait for updates” situation.

140$ is a I don need this that much and I will wait until it gets several updates and then maybe and probably pass situation.

Waiting for a price adjustment an some updates.

Amazing work anyway. Really looking forward for a price adjustment and few updates.

  • So-so

First off, so HAPPY that Cozy Blanket launched! Immediately paid for the upgrade to show support, and banking on updates to come. I imported my model and it was SUPER easy to start building surfaces. This aspect is a solid 5 stars! But it goes down from there because:
    1) you can’t sub-D the surface (yet). You just have a raw surface.
    2) you can’t do a loop extrude (yet) so you have to manually build and extend polys.
    3) manual still needs work but I’m sure it will get revised later,

Overall it’s awesome to have a retopo app on an iPad. kudos! It feels like a great start. Look forward to updates.

  • Have potential, need polish, price a bit high

Overall impression, this is the first great fun retopology app on iPad. I like the use of Apple Pencil drawing to draw retopo.

Finger gestures needed to make it more fun experience, I think Undo is missing.

There is issue when rotating 3D objects sometimes pivot camera is out of whack, maybe because the model came like that (pivot incorrect).

Current pricing is quite dear, maybe have new users discount at around $50-80.
