  • Too pricey

I love what it does..perfection. I’d be down for a 20 dollar price tag or a low cost subscription. But 90 dollars? Nope. I’ll keep a eye out.
  • It’s awesome but one fatal flaw

The price is fair but they really need to add an auto save and load progress system because the app crashes and I loose all my progress… if they fix this the app would be amazing (I would give it 5 star otherwise)

Other features that would be great is a layer system for multiple different unconnected models in a single fbx/obj file (or to at least have multiple object in a single retopology project), a better more dynamic mirroring system and an unsubdivide button alongside the subdivide one. With these features it may be the best retopology app I think.

  • Great, but needs work

This seems perfect, and works great, but as soon as I try doing any complex small parts the problems start. Doesn’t weld if it’s to fine etc. spent more time battling frustrating issues, that I just went back to my laptop for retop.
  • Great companion to Nomad and retopo in general

I had to change my review after they added the base io for $20. This app is actually really good and intuitive. Ive been doing retopo for a while now and i can say that this app is quite great. Its still a little pricey for the full version but i think in the long run its quite a good investment. I only gave this a 4 star because its a little expensive, but functionality wise 5 star.

  • Awesome but incomplete.

I just can’t for the life of me figure out why people are rating this wonderful app so poorly; there’s nothing quite like it on the market right now, anywhere.

I work as a concept artist and my work often requires me to juggle 2D references, sculpts and retopology simultaneously while preparing a model for production. Very specific retopology is often required for this workflow, as stylised character meshes often need that manual touch to preserve details or control shading, etc.

There is nothing quite like being able to simply draw the topology onto the sculpt so directly. Cozyblanket’s shortcuts and control scheme is very intuitive and efficient once you get to learn it. The program itself does a fantastic job of teaching new users how to use its tools, a simple tap allowing you to watch videos of each tool in action, along with an explanation of how it works. It’s not just the drawing either; CozyBlanket has one of the best smooth relax tools I’ve ever experienced, and it’s exceptionally powerful when combined with the vertex pin function. Even the extrude and clone patch tools are a joy to use, utilising the screen position and motion sensor in such a clever way.

Yes, Blender has Retopoflow and other useful manual retopology tools, but the experience just isn’t the same. I can’t draw in Retopoflow without fiddling around with Bsurfaces, and that isn’t nearly as accurate or intuitive. Furthermore, I work remotely, so having an entire suite of production tools on my iPad Pro is invaluable to my workflow. Nomad sculpt pairs amazingly with this app. I can’t chip away at my retopology using Blender while I’m out shopping or moving around the house.

This app is a little overpriced, but so far I’ve found the price to be well worth it for what it offers. It’s still a little ugly, but nothing a little elbow grease and experience can’t navigate. I’m very thankful for the devs choosing not to support a subscription model. I feel that if the price were lowered to compete with Procreate and Artstudio Pro, more hobbyists would be willing to try it out.

Right now, the only major issue I have with it is that the clone tool will more often than not crash the program, and the camera can have trouble dealing with small decals such as fingertips and such. But otherwise I couldn’t recommend this more for people who are very serious about their topology, such as 3D creators trying to achieve NPR workflow.

  • A lot of potential

It’s great just has a lot of bugs
  • good but…

too expensive for what u get. needs more features to justify the price tag.
  • Worth It?

Fantastic tool for the most painfully monotonous chore in modeling. It’s strangely fun.
The price is fair for an independently developed tool but… I’d want to test the retopo integration before owning. At least one test export seems reasonable
  • A joy to use

People in the reviews here are complaining about the price, then comparing it to Maya (expensive) and Blender (has a ton of capital from every major industry player). The price is fine - you’d rather have a subscription model? This is a niche product, it’s a joy to use, and I’m happy I paid for it. I have arthritis and doing retopo on the PC is painful, but using Cozy Blanket is very comfortable. This very nicely completes my workflow with Nomad Sculpt and Procreate. Kudos to the dev team for all of the behind-the-scenes programming magic that makes this feel so fluid and intuitive. And thank you for saving my hands. I’m doing all of my games art on iPad now, thanks to this. This app is worth the cost to me. Edit: I had an app crashing issue, sent an email to support, within a few hours they had an update out that fixed it. A++ support, very satisfied with my purchase.

  • Amazing idea, but not quite ready

I was so excited when I found this app, but perhaps set my expectations too high. Many issues have already been stated in the other reviews, I can see it being incredibly useful for meshes using simple shapes, but the app is far too finicky when trying to retopologize high detail or tight areas. For example when working with thin areas, like wings, the app reads your gestures on the back side of your mesh. Causing unwanted actions like adding edge loops, grabbing incorrect vertices, deleting faces, etc., all with you being completely unaware until you rotate the mesh.

If there were one specific thing I’d like added, it would be the ability to add a vertex to an existing triangle as the app will consistently add what was supposed to be a quad as a tri instead.

I have used it for over a week but unfortunately can’t look past it’s short comings and have requested a refund. I will keep a close eye on its development, and (very hopefully) re-purchase it in the future.

The app is made with a very good intent and the company seems passionate, my fingers are crossed.
