  • Horrible Customer Service

American Express is supposed to hold themselves to a high standard of care and to be known as a pinnacle of service. I have never been more disappointed with a company than I have been with American Express. I was given an offer in the mail to get one of their cards and thought, why not? The card they gave me was only $1k as the starter limit and when I applied to increase it to $5k as a starting increase point, I was declined. Which was confusing for me being that I have good great, I never missed a payment on the card, and I make over $120k per year. I reviewed the report and it stated they couldn’t pull my credit score and when I called the agency, they told me there is no issues on their side. I called Amex again and they told me I need to contact the agency again because it’s on them. They passed me around 5 times to finally tell me this. When I explained that the agency already reviewed my details and there was no freeze and no pauses on the account, they told me it wasn’t on them. This is the most disappointing customer service experience I have ever had and I’m beyond disappointed that they would ever feel they are a company worth holding the selective Black Card. My grandfather had one of these cards and it is obvious that the service of the company must have declined since then, as he believed in the organization.

  • In love with AmEx!

As a new member of the American Express gold card club, I have to admit, there’s something exhilarating in holding that shiny card in my hand. It’s a tangible symbol of reaching a milestone, a reward for the hard work and dedication I’ve poured into my personal and professional lives.

From the moment I receive my gold card, it felt different. It’s not just a credit card. It’s a statement. The first time I used it I couldn’t help but notice the little thrill that came with it. There’s an undeniable sense of prestige and accomplishment attributed to the gold card. It’s like having a VIP pass to all exclusive benefits and exceptional service.

The American Express gold card is so much more than just a financial tool, it represents all my hard work and achievement to deserve this status. The rewards, service and exclusive benefits, make it work a worthwhile investment and I look forward to enjoying all the advantages it offers as I continue to explore this exciting new chapter.

  • Waste of time and money

Amex spent over 28 minutes to deny me a reasonable request for canceling a $29 fine/fee the charged for mistakenly making a payment with a no longer existing bank account. I corrected it immediately by paying from the right bank account (within a minute). I called costumer service the same moment and notified them about the mistake and they would ‘fix’ it. Two later I called them again to remind them about the unusual incident. Again being told that I shouldn’t worry. A day later I noticed the $29 fine due to ‘insufficient’ funds (was not the case; I simply closed the bank account a month ago). While wasting time AND money, 2 representatives and Supervisor Frank these 3 went above and beyond in providing bad customer service. So AMEX used 3 employees for nearly 30 minutes to ‘save’ AMEX $29.
‘Great job’ by these 3 professional ‘we’re
sorry for the inconvenience’ saying customer service workers. They did not only waste their own time but also 30 useless minutes of my time, blaming everything ‘on the system’. So apparently the system is not designed/used to support providing customer service but to make decisions that don’t make any sense. Result; AMEX will lose a loyal client over $29. Shame on AMEX. This case doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

  • User Friendly…

The Amex App is without a doubt, my favorite financial App.
It may seem like a small thing… But, I do not like debt. Amex allows users to pay for transactions that are still pending. For example, I can make multiple purchases throughout the day. Before I call it a day, I can open the App and look at my transaction total, whether the transaction is posted or still pending. This allows me to know that I will wake up to a $0 balance, with the exception of the month when the Annual Membership amount is due. No other account I have will allow that. For example other accounts not only prohibit being “ Paid Ahead “, they will limit how far ahead you can be by imposing a 7.5% or 10% limit on pre-payment.

Even if I have paid ahead to the maximum or if I have scheduled a payment for the Annual Membership ahead of time, The institution’s App software will automatically post the “ Blll “ before the “ Payment “… This means that I will have an amount due even though the bill will be satisfied within a fraction of a second. And… Percentage of debt outstanding to available credit represents 30% of FICO score calculation.

  • The Best & most reliable card for over 33 years

I have been a gold card for over 33 years. During that time I had many occasions to contact Amex. Each time the representative has been EXTREMELY helpful, professional, courteous, patient and kind in addition to being easily understandable.* Amex has NEVER let me down, ever. They have fought for me when I was overcharged, scammed and needed help in a foreign country. They have been fair and never, not even once, have my concerns or issues been ‘blown off’, handled incorrectly, minimized, nor have I been transferred like a hot potato or put on hold for so long that I eventually had to hang up - all experiences I have had with other credit cards. Given the uncertainty that exists in our world today, I take great comfort in the certainty that I can always count on AmEx should the need arise.
*To Amex management- your customer service reps deserve a raise and/or bonus- they are, without question, the BEST in the business and are what keeps customers like me loyal for 33+ years.

I am writing to express my utmost satisfaction with the service provided by American Express Platinum Card during my recent travels. • Could use improvement

Was told two different stories about using AmEx card- that for using same exclusively I’d be awarded heaps of points; SkyMiles - which simply never materialised. Upon inquiry - as it turns out - it’s only a one time (ever)offer- yet this was initially not only completely unclear; the opposite was spoken - granted perhaps by overzealous employee. Yet felt as if a “Bait and Switch”. Reputation, relationship is important to me in business. It costs AmEx almost nothing to extend me benefit of doubt; points/miles. And because there’s a competitive market, others have become by default, eligible for my business. I’ve an excellent credit score. Also despite possessing Platinum, Gold, “clear” levels of cards, was turned out of american (SFO et al) AmEx lounges (however, not in Down Under, et al places, mind you). In other words why have this card/ these cards? As a world traveler I’ve felt to explore other options. Will for now pursue these other options - with sense of sadness.

  • Fantastic method to retrieve stolen crypto assets

I was impatient to carry out necessary research but I really wanted to jump on the crypto trading and investment buzz. Unfortunately for me, I invested 75,700 GBP worth of bitcoin with a fraudulent company. I was happy to watch my account grow to 214,575 GBP within a couple of weeks. But I didn't realize I was dealing with a scam company, until I tried to make an attempt to withdraw. I made a withdrawal request, and noticed my account was suddenly blocked for no apparent reason. I tried contacting customer support, but all to no avail. I needed my money back at all cost, because I could not afford to let it go. So I tried all possible means to make sure I recovered my scammed bitcoin. I did a lot of online search for help, and tried to see if there were other people who had any similar experience. I stumbled upon a cryptocurrency forum were a couple of people mentioned that they had been through the same process but were able to recover their lost cryptography funds with the help of FundsRecoveryGeek So I filed a report on FundsRecoveryGeek @ G mail and he was able to help me get back all my lost funds withing 2 weeks I feel indebted to him. Apart from trying to express my gratitude to them once again using this medium, I will recommend anybody who wants to recover scammed bitcoin, stolen cryptocurrency, funds lost to binary options forex, investment and any other form of online scam to reach out to FundsRecoveryGeek @ gmail

  • For Once, An App That Isn't Cluttered!

I have two finance apps that plague me with offers and alerts constantly. They do not turn off, and saying no to them does not help. In fact, they bug me even as I check my credit score or my card and account balances, actually getting in the way of what I need to view. Amex doesn't do that, ever, plus this app is easy to use and lets me carry out my payments easily. I've never had a problem finding something or had the app error out randomly for any reason. Making payments and checking information couldn't be more streamlined. You guys need to teach other banks and card providers not to bother customers so much. Granted, their apps are simple and good to work in, meaning I only docked them both three stars for irritating me and not more, but all those relentless alerts and pop-ups make them far less helpful and much more of a bother. This app is what the others should be. If I want offers, I will look for them myself! Thank you for making it very easy to use and for not bothering me silly.
