App is useless

I had used the app locally just fine and thought I would use it and buy parking in advance for a 2day music festival in Cincinnati. I went to the parking lot using the directions the site provided, but the attendant refused to let me in with the parking pass. The parking lot has 2 openings on different streets but the side that is shown in pictures was closed and attendant said the garage I paid for was down the street. Yet the parking lot matched the pictures I had from when I paid. We had already waited 1.5-2 hrs in traffic to get in so I paid again. Online I was charged $40 + fees in advance when on-site it was only $20. I should have saved my time and money and just paid when I arrived. The only good thing was I was able to cancel the parking for the second day and get credited. I did email them and they responded. I had to provide proof and send the info and they probably would have credited me. I just took it as a lesson learned. The app will overcharge you. Just arrive early and pay on site.

Bad directions and impossible to get a refund?

I am new to the Las Vegas area and was looking for a place where I could park my F250 near planet Hollywood. I found this app and it recommended the miracle mile parking garage so I paid ahead of time and headed that way. I followed the GPS exactly and went to the address provided. Once I arrived all of the parking areas I saw were for vehicles 6’ 8” or less. I drove around more and found a few areas for larger vehicles but they were full and not at the address in the app. I asked one of the attendants at a hotel that shared the parking garage with the miracle mile and he had no idea where the app was trying to take me.

I called customer service and asked for a refund and they want receipts of where I ended up parking? What kind of policy is that? The fact is I never parked and I would think with todays technology they could easily tell that the pass they gave me was never scanned. I want my money back!

I like the old app

Great app but only works in downtown/city core area.

Edit: I used to be able to see the pictures of the rate and the entrance of the lot now they are gone and you can only see how much your parking would cost by putting in different lengths of time to try. Bad move on the developer side.

Not trustworthy!

I used to really like using BestParking but now that it has been taken over by Parkwhiz all I can say is watch your wallet. Two weeks ago I booked a spot in New York City from 10:30 AM Saturday morning until a pick up the next day Sunday at 10:30 PM. I paid the upfront fee with my credit card as per usual and when I went to get my car (which was at 1:30 PM the next day, 9 hours early) I was overcharged by $15 in addition to the fee that I had already paid. The attendant claimed it was because I was late! When I got back home I opened up a dispute with BestParking. Basically the people in customer service said i had to pay an extra fee because I dropped off my car 10 minutes early! That has never happened to me before ever in the years I have used this app. And if the attendant had told me that it was early and I would be charged for it, then I just would’ve waited on the street. My advice to anyone considering a parking app is to use SpotHero instead. BestParking can no longer be trusted. They look to price gouge.

Do not trust this App-false pretenses

Every time I have used this app it turns into a nightmare! I pay in advance, go to the garage, there is no way to validate the pre-paid ticket when there isn’t an attendant on site or an automated process to validate the ticket. So I have to pay the going rate at the time - i double paid in the end. After three days of trying to get my refund, I got it but not for the amount (20% more) i paid directly to the garage. So what is the value of this app if in the end one pays the going rate anyway? Geez nobody needs this kind of hassle when supposedly it is all by saving time and money! Also, telephone and text support teams with ParkWhiz ( Best Parking) are a waste of time and require redundant steps. They say they’ll call you back when you’re time is up in the queue but that was not at all the case, they just put me on hold for another 20 minutes, I had to go their this twice and still never got anyone on the phone. Perhaps email is best who knows, or just find a better more reliable app. Life should be more simple than this…

Worthless

Paid their fee to reserve a spot but the garage was full. The help number did not work, the help email would not send, and the app override the system's settings to show up (at night) on full brightness.

Reservation was not honoured

After reserving and paying for my parking the day before, I went to the lot. The scanner would not accept the provided code. When the attendant came over (many impatient drivers behind me), he said they had no record of the reservation andI had to take the matter up with the company who I made the reservation with. I had to pay again. I have tried calling, texting and emailing with no response. I will never use this service again!

Turned away from prepaid parking w/o refund, no one from BestParking cares

I used this app several times to great effect and then I purchased parking in Midtown Manhattan. When I arrived, I was told that the computer system was down and they could not park my car. They also told me because the computer system was down that I could not get a refund from them and would have to go to BestParking. I wrote to BestParking and immediately heard back from staff who asked for a receipt of where I ended up parking, which I provided. Then I was completely ghosted. I have now written back no less than six times and no one has ever responded, this is after I paid nearly $30 for a parking spot that was not available to me when I arrived. Seems like the model is busted if that’s the kind of thing you have to worry about when you pay for parking.

Scam

This is scam!!!!! On the same day two parking lots were full. I was told that the refund will be on the way automatically since QR was not scanned. NOPE NOPE NOPE. You have to request refund yourself within 14 days window. This was what I told now. They probably updates their FAQ now. SCAM!! Stay away. Get parking with Icon ParkNYC MPG! A lot more reasonable and automatic.

If your system does not allow you to check QR then you really need to make sure if that parking lot reserves my spot. Two places on the same day at the same time had problems!! Your system has problems and customers are suffering. If you are not sure if the spot is guaranteed, you should not take money. It was hard to find contact info to begin with. Also when I first contacted the customer service, no one told me about 14 days rule. They told me to provide other info and wait. After 1 month I got an email about 14 day rule.

Garages Can’t Be Counted On To Honor Reservations

The app is great, but NYC garages will sporadically deny entry even with a reservation confirmation from Best Parking. It happened to me at a garage at 330 E. 75th St after driving in from East Hampton. The garage was no more than 30% full, but the attendant was likely expecting an influx of monthly parkers. He was uninterested in the Best Parking reservation. I observed similar treatment a month prior to a couple who entered the garage just after me.

The support team at Best Parking is great: they issued an immediate credit. But if you need a committed spot you can count on, you might want to book directly with the garage managers on their own apps (sadly at much greater cost).
