Extremely poor customer model
This may be a great app but the company new company behind it have, despite advertising free chart updates for life, changed each chart to a chargeable update model, and they are very expensive. I will be moving away to Navionics who have a clear and established subscription model rather than be fleeced by this lot. I feel very sorry for the obviously talented software developers of this product, I’m sure that given the prices now charged that more and more users will abandon this app.Show lesszettsail

I have been using Transas Isailor since it first came out and have purchased 25 chart folios which equal about $1000USD! I have also spread the word to countless associates and friends who have themselves downloaded Isailor and purchased chart folios. All those people in turn have each told many others about how great Isailor is and then they also purchased carts and it compounds on and on and on of course! So when I do the math it looks like I have generated thousands and thousands of dollars for your program so you should be paying me not the other way around! Any business would know how valuable that word of mouth snowball effect is and now you’ve killed it!!! I would suggest you fire the guy who thought this was a good idea!!!Show lessRobtRW
New subscription model is poor and not easy to turn off the auto renew
If I am sailing round the world I don’t want to update charts for a place I was at a year ago. I certainly don’t want to have an auto renewal feature for an unspecified amount of money.
And it is not described in the user manual or under settings/subscription options as to how to turn off auto renewal despite the claims on the website. It is made simple (and very expensive) to make add ons, but completely hidden (if it is there) how to cancel the auto-renewal.
Very poor development, and I have bought my last iSailor chart until this is removed. They have really shot themselves in the foot.Show lessGwylan
Disappointing
I’ve been using iSailor for a few years and thought is was great for planning and as a backup from my main System until they have introduced the new subscription for chart updating. I will now be looking at the alternatives and suggest if you are looking a buying charts you do as well until they change their policy of the yearly subscription or reduce the cost.Show lessrichjkell

iSailor was a great navigation software .... Now bought out by Warsila and turned into an annual subscription fee RIP OFF...

Unfortunately a great app has been hi jacked by corporate greed. Subscriptions for tides ais marinas and weather are not enough for the new owners. Under the guise of obligation to chart updates( not to be solely relied upon for navigation) are attempting to have users repurchase charts on a annual basis. A once great app representing value for money is no more. Wärtsilä would be well advised to reconsider there direction, without customers they have nothing.Show lessBkstango1
Charts updates changing to yearly subscription pricing
As others who have recently gave a 1 star rating for changing to a yearly subscription pricing business model, I too have been using iSailor for several years and have been very happy with iSailor until now. It appears that in order to get chart updates, they now want to charge you the initial chart price every year. I have tried to contact customer service about this and other issues, but since iSailor got bought out by the current owners, I have had no response on any of my customer service requests, even after multiple times contacting them. Their customer service under the previous owners was very responsive. With this kind of service and their new chart update policy, I have no idea how the current owners plan to stay in business.Show lessGka-tuckman
Not happy
Hi guys. VERY unhappy about the new subscription charges, introduced without notice and at an annual rate of what I originally paid for the chart folios. Even worse is that my folios have a last updated date of March this year (nearly 9 months ago) and so even to update them in the next couple of months I’d have to subscribe. No chance of that. The subscription should be MUCH lower and maybe for people who have purchased under the old system $0.

Huge loss for all!
I have used and recommended this app to all my students for many years however the recent changes have destroyed my reasons to do do.
I will NOT continue to support this company.
A loss that could have continued to make boating safer at a reasonable cost, greed seems to have destroyed it.Disappointed,yes!
Terrible Disappointment
I have been using iSailor for several years and have been a strong advocate of the software to anyone who would ask for recommendations of a navigation app. Your companies decision to move to a subscription based service will likely move you to the lower ranks of a navigation app. There are other apps available that have better features than iSailor and now you are competing on their level.
I now have to start looking at other apps due to this change.Show lessD Kasprzak
